Worst Scrappies in video games (spoilers)

What are the worst of the worst when it comes to videogame scrappies, in your opinion? I'll nominate Ryu Kou. He's the first character in any RPG to really piss me off.

CPU version of Seth in Street Fighter 4 and it's updated rerelease. Such a cheap bastard..... I do like the balanced player version though.

Chatot in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, at least on my first playthrough. Second time around I'm more inclined to ignore him.

For all the characters that the Super Mario Bros fanbase claims have no reason to exist, I can justify most of them. However, I honestly think Baby Daisy is a waste of space, because she doesn't even have the excuse of showing up in Yoshi's Island DS. Being a Tier Induced Scrappy in Mario Kart Wii only amplifies my antipathy.

Shinji Matou.

Completely intentional on the developer's part.

Yukari Takeba from Persona 3 is one of the characters I dislike most. I get that she's meant to be 'realistic', and I even get where she's coming from — but everything about her grates on my nerves. Her constant hypocrisy, giving everyone else crap for their mistakes while ignoring or downplaying her own, her insistence on twisting everything to be all about HER and acting as needlessly dramatic as possible... Her voice actress did a great job giving her a snotty voice, though.

Then there's Guillaume of Suikoden III, who's pretty clearly an intentional Scrappy. Fat Bastard found of Kicking The Dog and giving off strong pedophiliac vibes. Least you get to kick him around several times.

If anybody has played Final Fantasy Tactics Advance 2....that one moogle gadgeteer in that escort mission where you must help 5 weak moogles defeat a much stronger clan with just one of your character.

Why just that one moogle? Because the gagdeteer uses coin-flip based abilities, so half the time he's just plain traitorous.

Is it possible to call an entire species the scrappy?

If yes, then Zubat. Not only is it one of the most infamous Goddamn Bats in video games, but it's absolutely everywhere, and it's been in every game until Pokemon Black and White. Hating the little zitbag is a cornerstone of the fandom.

Odd. I thought this thread was about opinions.

Fuuka is just annoying in Persona 3. She likes to constantly state how many enemies are in a battle (thank you Fuuka, I forgot how to count to 3), and her scans tend to come in right after I use an attack that gets reflected.

Do they count? Sounds more like Stop Helping Me, but they really are only good for medkits, ammo, and a little extra bit of firepower, but that's about it.

From what I gather, the OP asked which scrappies, or widely hated characters, were the worst and most annoying of the bunch.

Stop Helping Me is a form of Scrappy.

For all intents and purposes, this thread is about which characters annoy you the most.

I actually like Shinji, despite all the raping and whatnot.

x5 Scans come after 1 turn which is quite understandable IMO.. that first turn its best to use a buff spell anyway. The repetitive Voice Work though is another story.

x9And for Yukari above ya just got to know the Tsundere types.. Anyway I dont see how the best character in the game is The Scrappy. The only AI party member with an all heal that you can reliably get her to use.

Hehe. Well, it's mainly the voice and her "advice", not the scan.

It tends to be something like "AI Party member uses spell, spell gets reflected, then the scan shows up."

I like her scanning ability so much more than Mitsuru, but I'd much rather have Mitsuru talking to me all the time.

I kinda agree...in a sense that, Shinji is an instantly hateable despicable villain done right. He's a character who is made to be hated, and they did a great job at that...if that counts.

x5 Believe me, it's not the 'Tsundere' part that gets to me with Yukari. She's a Jerkass Woobie, through and through — her Backstory's heartbreaking, but does not give her free reign to be a BLUH BLUH HUGE BITCH. She goes out of her way to make everything all about her and her all-consuming Wangst.

"Somebody I dislike is introducing himself to you?! THIS CANNOT STAND! I'll butt in, insult him, bring up the very thing I told you to keep secret in the middle of our crowded classroom, then blame HIM for any rumors that might come from that!"

"Oh, you've been hospitalized? This is the perfect time to Info Dump my OH-SO-TRAGIC Backstory and claim that we're TOTALLY alike!"

"You don't want to go to the obviously dangerous hangout for thugs and nearly get killed when I insult them to their faces and then cower behind you, all while claiming that I'm totally independent and don't need anyone's help? TOO BAD!"

"GASP! Somebody else lost their daddy?! But you can't do that; it's MY issue!" BITCHSLAP!

Even when she's right about something, she goes about it in such an over-the-top, Drama Queen fashion that she undermines her own point. And let's not even get into The Answer...

But hey, all Scrappies are a case of Your Mileage May Vary. For instance, I liked Fuuka, and didn't think her voice was that bad. So there you go.

I thought that we were supposed to list unpopular characters, not characters that we don't like.
