  • Alternative Character Interpretation:
    • Due to Dreamy Hachi being a much more neotinised version of Hachiman himself, there is a divide in opinion over whether he's so adorable its impossible not to want to cuddle him, or being so overwhelmingly cute and sugary it's downright creepy.
    • Opinion of Antediluvian has developed from "yeah he's definitely evil" to a general mix of those who see him as a Knight Templar or Well-Intentioned Extremist using Utopia Justifies the Means to achieve his goals, and those who still see him as an Obviously Evil dictator.
  • Arc Fatigue: The Second Borealis Galactic War fell victim to this due to its obnoxiously long plot. However, its final part was edited so it could end as fast as possible.
  • Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: Gorf's cameo in the Second Borealis Galactic War.
  • Ensemble Dark Horse: Kalcedia Myran, despite being introduced as being just one of the many members of the UNOC unit, grew quite famous as her character developed and because of her attributes. She has since stopped being a minor character and grew into a main protagonist of multiple stories.
    • Dvotties are nothing but non-sentient pet birds in-canon, but they have reached Memetic Badass status extremely fast, mainly due for being a race of Ridiculously Cute Critters.
    • Kan'Kun the Proto-Xhodocto, despite only appearing in two stories so far and being the closest you can get to a Xhodocto, is quite notable for being the nicest character out of all Xhodocto-related fiction.
  • Evil Is Cool: General consensus is that villain characters tend to end up being cooler and more interesting than heroes.
  • Fan Nickname: Often given to characters with a long or complicated name or simply for the fun of it.
    • Antediluvian was shortened to Anteddy, one of a series of shorthand nickanmes.
      • With his new name of "Tyrómairon" he has been nicknamed "Tyrone"
    • Before he was renamed Arrtkar Crowart, Arrtkuarthj Croyewartkxt was given the nickname of AC because his name was effectively unspellable on-the-fly.
    • Basileus were originally coined Basies but later other nicknames evolved including Rastist Waptors, Purple/Pink Libertus and Barney's Racist Cousins.
    • All Capricornians gained the moniker of Waptors after bearing a very strong resemblance to the raptor genus of dinosaur.
    • Dominatus have been called Dommies (same reasons as the rest of the series)
    • Exarch Laurinn Ma'Fest, due to his extremely zealous Knight Templar nature and Utopia Justifies the Means attitude has been forever branded with the title of Exarch Dick.
    • Imperator Tyranus was nicknamed Imperator Trollanus after a series of snobby, condescending and downright trollish attitudes both on the IRC channel and on the semi-canon universal discussion board.
    • The Junction Mind - expies to the Combine Advisors - were nicknamed Watermelons after their visual appearance of round, dark green creatures made using Spore's engine bore a strong resemblance to the namesake fruit.
    • Radeons were nicknamed Holyrats due to their Church Militant culture and for bearing a strong resemblence to anthropomorphic rodents.
    • Vyro'Narza were affectionately called Piggies or Pigmen because their models in Spore used a pig's mouth piece. This goes for both in and out of universe.
    • Tyraz bears the community nickname of Manlet due to being a 6ft tall for a species who are usually 8-10ft tall.
    • Xhodocto were forever cursed with the nickname XHODDIES. The very mention of the name has been known to send the creator into a flying rage.
    • Zí-Jittorám were called Plant Doods because their biology was strongly linked to plants. However with skin as hard as adamantium, enough muscle to throw tanks in a caber-toss and acidic spit strong enough to put Xenomorph blood to shame, they're perhaps one of the toughest species of plant creature in the wiki if not ever in the history of all fiction.
      • Skhánaróton -01, having a difficult-to-pronounce first name was nicknamed Plant Dood because he is a member of the Zí-Jittorám race. Another recurring nickname is Skhánaman.
    • Caligaduro Provectus, the Sealed Evilin A Can God of Evil of the fantasy universe was given the affectionate nickname of Caligaman.
    • The fiction arc Tantummodo Mortem, due to its name being in Latin, has been nicknamed things such as Tantumdum, Tantoromdomdom, Tontomomdomnomjommortomonom and TomandJerry.
    • Due to their holier-than-thou Light Is Not Good nature, the now-destroyed Obvia'Atra gained the nickname of Obvia'Arsehole because any time they dealt with mortals they were extremely condescending about it.
    • Due to what its inner sectors resemble, Andromeda has been referred to as The Pokeball Galaxy
    • The Kraw Galaxy, a satellite of the Andromeda Galaxy, is known as the Hillbilly Galaxy after the dumb-as-soup reputation of its denizens who frequently had little clue what was going on outside their little galaxy. Some going as far as to consider the science of the more advanced empires (such as the knowledge of essence) as nothing short of reality-defying magic. Being the Straw Atheists that they were they often threw fits.
    • The secretive nature of Mentracus, the Spymaster for the Draconid Imperium has transcended the bounds of the fictional universe has earned him the nickname of 'Witchcraft Guy. "Originally" revealed to be the sender of a black screen. A simple change in the brightness and contrast of the image revealed something from nothing, leading the discoverer to cry out "Witchcraft!" on the IRC. It was then discovered that Mentracus had a fully-developed page that went completely unnoticed until it was pulled out of the depths of the Sporewiki's page archive.
  • Growing the Beard: Compared to its beginnings, fiction stories have become far more developed, complex and better-written. This is attributed to the authors becoming older and more experienced.
  • Heartwarming Moments: Has its own page.
  • Ho Yay:
  • Tyraz and Uriel to the point where Word of God states that an abridged fiction with them cannot be made without portraying the two as outright lovers.
  • Arsac and Geltastra. Although in Gelt's case her sexuality is made evidently clear.
  • Memetic Badass:
  • Memetic Loser: Hachiman. He always dies. Even when he's not even involved in the story in question.
  • Memetic Molester: Dhazhrak. He's secretly your girlfriend.
    • Inquisitor Sarec has become this due to his Straight Gay attitude and the fact he's roommates with a little boy.
    • Commander Mortikran of the Mortalitas is a canon example, being confirmed by Word of God to have a fetish for humanoid females. It gets weirder when you realize he's a 11 feet tall Ax-Crazy shark.
    • You don't want to be left alone in a room with Kol Daren.
  • Memetic Mutation: Talk to the writers on the IRC channel and you will notice several memes in their speech:
    • Slurp all the X available - originating from Infobot's response to the ~eat command.
    • General abuse of the infobot
    • "You're so cute!" - Diplomat Lezia
    • Interspecies relationships and everything related to them.
    • Telfinne's breasts, though this has died out since her model was remade.
    • Peem! - Gorf
    • Dvotties. They are magical creatures related to Gorf who vomit sugar pluff and flowers, and trying to kill them turns you into one of them.
    • General Zillum loves eating kittens.
    • Mahanayans are often compared to horses due to their horse-shaped heads. Cue horse and "NEIGH" jokes whenever they are mentioned.
    • "hur"
    • Santorakh REALLY loves cheese.
  • Moe: Hachiman easily qualifies. His Super-Deformed counterpart, Dreamy Hachi, takes it up to eleven.
  • Moment of Awesome: Has its own page.
  • Moral Event Horizon: Falrik Zaarkhun relentlessly beating Tuolog up and killing his father in front of him during the Second Borealis Galactic War.
  • Nausea Fuel: The way the demon Zazane Varugr feeds, by enveloping his sentient tail into the victim and literally digesting them alive through it. The victim has no way of fighting back and can only be heard screaming as they are turned into paste. And let's not forget the time where he spawned tentacles out of his mouth and tried to penetrate Inquisitor Arsac's facial orifices with them. Luckily for her, she was wearing a helmet.
    • The story Kol Daren's House of Horror had mutilated Draconis bodies being hung on walls and on the ceiling, being used to feed Kol Daren's Horde of Alien Locusts. One of the bodies had its torso visibly opened with bugs feeding from its insides. Some of these bodies were alive and constantly regenerating, giving the monsters even more to feed from. And there was the time Kol Daren used his tongue to dice a Drallivian's brain without removing it.
    • Incognito can do very nauseating things, including cannibalism, killing people during sex and sexing people after killing them.
    • The Wranploer Billig has a personal "slaughterhouse" where he keeps the bodies of former victims for display. The room is loaded with them, from the ground to the ceiling, and they are always rotting and bloodied.
  • Padding: Present in the Second Borealis Galactic War, before the storyline was changed to go faster, there were several sections with no real significance but to delay the climax of some arcs.
  • Paranoia Fuel: The Eola'Nar's entire war involves using mortals as tools and pawns. Be it through trickery, mind control or selecting "chosen" such as the Radeons.
    • The very hint of Antediluvian's Psychotic Smirk or signature Just as Planned catchphrase - be it in stories or on quotes sections - has been known to cause this because it seems pretty-much everything that happens in Cyrannus is part of his grand scheme to become the unqestioning overlord of the galaxy. So far it has reached the point where you have to wonder if every single inhabitant is little more than a marionette on a string.
  • The Scrappy: Sollow, the immortal Smug Snake servant of Falrik Zaarkhun, who was disliked both in and out of universe. Somewhat justified because he was intentionally designed to be as unlikeable as possible so his final destruction would be more satisfying. Thankfully, he has been Killed Off for Real.
    • The Obvia'Atra certainly quality, with their distasteful and unlikeable A God Am I attitude and superiority complex, and the fact they were created with little reason but giving the Xhodocto a Good Counterpart. They have been Killed Off for Real.
    • The Second French Empire has become one for at least part of the community.
  • Shipping: Averted. Despite the fictionverse's open nature and the massive amount of characters from both genders present in canon, shipping between them is next to inexistent except for situations where it's Played for Laughs.
  • Take That, Scrappy!: Sollow's death and the Obvia'Atra's destruction were welcomed with open arms by the userbase.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: The general reaction toward the Infernovirus was that it ended too soon and was not developed enough. Thankfully, retconning so it can be more explored later is being considered.

  • The Woobie: Hachiman, oh so very much.
    • Oreleva Khaxvis evolved into this. Originally as cold and intimidating as the rest of Volkarus' lieutenants. She was brought down to earth after misjudging the intent of Crispy of the Golden Movement. Her woobie status emerged after she was made the personal 'pet' of Pyrak Yannor, who found any excuse to cause her misery inluding performing sadistic experiments on her. Made worse that not even curling into a sobbing ball of pain earns her master's pity, who berates her even more for acting like an ungrateful child. She may be on the side of the bad guys but boy could she use a hug!
  • Woobie Species: The Krektal, a minor species from the Borealis Galaxy, has done nothing but fall victim to space pirates since they achieved space travel, to the point they could not even establish a proper empire. The species is on the verse of extinction and not even the Polar Crystal Alliance's help is doing much.
