What Song Was This Again / Twisted Translations

Go To

Due to the absurd amount of translations these songs undergo, they tend to either develop entirely new meanings or lose all meaning and become meaningless.

Frozen

Hercules

  • Go the Distance is now about Hercules being a rebellious Lazy Bum much to the frustration of Zeus. It also seems as though Hercules now identifies as a girl named Hillary.

  • Perfect Illusion now seems to be about a wild drug trip. Gaga's other songs don't fare much better after being put through Google translate, either...
Malinda: "So apparently Lady Gaga wants to write bad rancheras music, she can't read, she wasn't born this way and she has a weird obsession with Classical Mythology. Somehow... none of this surprises me."

  • Bad Blood seems to be a Villain Song performed by a Heteronormative Crusader.
  • Never Gonna Give You Up presents a much more flawed version of its narrator: He's not as convinced that he won't run around and hurt you note , he won't let anyone cry around him note , he's strangely antagonistic towards camels, he refuses to pay for anything, and he keeps leaning on tables despite being told not to. But at least he knows the importance of wearing a mask during a viral epidemic.

When a paramedic arrived to remove the knife, Louis thanked him, then decided he hated him and ran away... returning only to threaten the paramedic with a bat, loudly declare his name and state that he's "the real man", and presumably run away again. Meanwhile, an aspiring artist who Louis regularly supplies with mustard wakes up crying, but decides it's okay because she likes laziness.

Miscellaneous Disney-Songs

  • We don't talk about Bruno is now about the various things or persons that the Madrigals don't like, notably a hot barista named Emma and some giant mouse figure. Isabela has a girlfriend, so Mariano presumably isn't there to court her - the one time he's mentioned, he's stated to be leaving; either he just now found out about the Incompatible Orientation and figured staying would be awkward, or he didn't like hearing all the complaining throughout the song. Bruno himself is still partially featured in the song, if only because he doesn't call them.

Unsorted

  • Mary Had a Little Lamb is now about Mary with a small amount of meat and she goes all over the place while the lambs migrate.
  • The Muffin Man is now the Man Cakes, the Cupcakes Guy or the Doughnuts Guy. However, his address hasn't changed.

  • "The Wellerman" is still basically about a ship's crew waiting for supplies, albeit some pretty strange ones, such as "space" and "my sister's booty". However, the ship is going to sink, and the captain wants to capture a whale, which was somehow birthed by a human woman, by hitting it with a slingshot. The captain has also become unsatisfied with his job, and would rather be on a train than a ship. Meanwhile, the crew are entertaining themselves by playing with children's toys, dueling each other with spoons, trying to lift the boat with their bare hands, and logging on and off of the internet. Finally, entire species of big cats are either disappearing or going extinct ("but the tigers are gone", "there's no such thing as a leopard") - there is an island named Cat though, so maybe that's where all the tigers and leopards went.
