"Mythbreakers" is the name for the Hunter: The Vigil campaign played by the members of Hololive -Myth-, with Calliope Mori as the Game Master.

In the city of Mythton, four unique individuals slowly discover that the the world is much larger than the simple lives they've been living. Whether they want to or not, they're being plunged into something much greater than all of them. An enigmatic character named Victor needs their talents for reasons yet to be revealed.

A compiled list of the play sessions can be found here.

The cast consists of:

  • Yuul B. Alwright: A perpetually tired grad student who doesn't have much choice in assisting a Mad Scientist with her crazy experiments if she wants to get her degree. Played by Ina'nis Ninomae.
  • Tiara: A skilled gunslinger from the country of Somewhere Else. She can communicate with birds better than she can navigate the language barrier with the locals. Played by Takanashi Kiara.
  • Watoto: A goblin-like Conspiracy Theorist. He has zero trust in the government, loves to grow strange mushrooms and craft explosives from said mushrooms. Played by Amelia Watson.
  • Scout: A farmhand from the town of Belt-Buckle. She's not very bright but is skilled in blacksmithing. She finds herself travelling to Mythton after her family goes on the run for practising some dark rituals. Played by Gawr Gura.

Not counting personal tutorial episodes, the series spanned from July to December 2021, though was quietly discontinued due to what Mori confirmed to be schedule conflicts and a lack of interest from the players. She still desired to give the series closure, and in May 2023, the Grand Finale session took place with all the girls returning and giving the campaign a proper ending.

The Mythbreakers Campaign provides examples of:

  • Anachronic Order: Calli revealed that the tutorial sessions were not played out in the chronological order of the players. Scout was the first to arrive at the Homestead bar where everyone gathered, though Gura's was the last tutorial session to take place. Yuul and Victor showed up next, followed by Watoto. Tiara was the last to arrive, although Kiara's tutorial session was the first.
  • Applied Phlebotinum: While thinking of a way to get help with broken vehicle, Scout comes up with an idea - Use Watoto’s Sound Weapon to propel the van using sonic booms. Watoto thinks its an absurd plan, as his homemade and lethal ultrasonic weapon is unable to do that in (in-universe) reality.
  • Avengers Assemble: Victor gathered all four characters together to the Homestead Bar for the purpose of forming up a cell of hunters to fight against supernatural forces. Madam M's mother did the same with another band of adventurers 35 years prior.
  • Bland-Name Product: Tamazon, the world's largest delivery service. Watoto thinks Tamazon is run by lizard people.
  • Circus of Fear: Our cast (plus Bertha, an old lady) visit one of these. Albeit, it's a carnival and not a circus.
  • Dramatic Irony: Played for Laughs. In Session 2, the party decided to split up and Yuul and Scout were hiding from the owner of the house they just broke into. Meanwhile, Watoto and Tiara finally managed to fend off a couple of feral dogs and navigate out of the hedge maze to find the same exact house. Relieved, the two use their walkie-talkies to radio Yuul and Scout—unaware of their whereabouts since the party split—which immediately gave away their hiding spots. What makes this even more hilarious is that because of the tabletop setting, Amelia knew that radioing the other two would put them in danger but went along with it because it was in character.
  • Eldritch Location: The living mine near Scout's home and the junkyard the girls are lured to on their way to their first mission.
  • Everytown, America: Mythton, Beltbuckle. Watoton is full of government conspiracy theorists and contains a trailer park, so it doesn't quite qualify on the 'idealized America' count. Adding to this is that the fictional state these towns/cities all reside in is all taking place in is literally called Anytown, a non-descript state on the 'weast' coast, so Calli was likely intentionally invoking this trope.
  • Failure Gambit: This is actually a gambit on Calli's behalf. In Session 2, Watoto finds himself attacked by feral dogs and rolls to use his Sound Gun on one of them. Had he succeeded, he would have damaged it. Instead, he failed all his rolls, which, as Calli points out, shot a frequency that made the dog happy instead.
  • Foreign Queasine: According to Tiara, there are only two flavours of ice cream in Somewhere Else: Earth flavour and Ice flavour.
  • Home Base: The Homestead Bar acts as one for the crew, complete with their own rooms, several workshops, Kid's store, and a garage.
  • Land of Faerie: In Session 2, Calli sends the group through a portal to the land of Arcadia, a land of fairies. She mentions that not all of them are exactly friendly, and some are quite malicious towards the very flowers that grow there.
  • Laxative Prank: In Session 3.5, Vic sends the hunters into a high class party as part of their mission. Scout manages to spike the punch and later the marinara sauce being used to cook up lasagna for all the guests with a laxative. At the end of the mission, Calli stated that their efforts to ruin the reputation of Antonio may not have been necessary, as the newspaper headline explained how the entire party and Antonio's reputation were "soiled" by all the guests getting a horrible case of the runs.
  • Leaning on the Fourth Wall: Calli explains that a side effect of drinking the Experience Drinks at the Homestead Bar is to momentarily see mysterious figures standing overhead who literally control their decisions.
  • Loophole Abuse: During the fight with the vampire twins in Crimson Manor's Master Bedroom, Watoto is driven insane after failing a roll to resist the room's influence, and he begins attacking Tiara. Seeing as he's now in a feral, animalistic state, Tiara is able to use her Animal Ken skill to talk him back.
  • Mistaken for Aliens: Upon encountering supernatural entities first time in his life, Watoto thinks he’s dealing with aliens. It’s understandable, as Watoto is a conspiracy theorist who is more likely to believe in something like extraterrestrials than the supernatural.
  • Nanomachines: Watoto believes nanites are effective against vampires. Of course this is the result of a failed Occult roll, so Watoto is in error or mixing up his conspiracy lore. Either way, it is useless information for Tiara.
  • No Celebrities Were Harmed: The carnival's musical act is the clown-themed duo Scooby 3 Superlit and Pacifist K, better known as the Mad Jester Clan.
  • Nothing Exciting Ever Happens Here: Said at the beginning of each tutorial session. Nothing happens in Mythton, its suburb of Watoton, nor in the nearby town of Beltbuckle.
  • One Dialogue, Two Conversations: The entire scene between Tiara and Watoto in the motel in the first session. During their break, Tiara asks Watoto for the worm he was seen carrying earlier in the session so she can feed her owl, Uhu. Amelia asks if it's okay to give Uhu the worm (the small animal) while Calli responds that she may give the Wyrm (the spirit that Watoto is a servant to) as long as both PCs consent to it. As a bonus, Ame's confusion of which worm/Wyrm tricks Gura into thinking about a different kind of "worm".
  • Our Vampires Are Different: While preparing to go on a mission to infiltrate a Vampire event, Yuul considers developing a garlic spray as a weapon. Madam M points out that’s a myth and garlic has no effect on the setting’s vampires.
  • Ruritania: At character creation, it seemed like Somewhere Else would be an obvious stand-in for Kiara's home country of Austr(al)ia, but now it seems to be devolving into this.
  • Ship Tease: Between Watoto and Tiara. They have a tendency to get grouped together and end up in compromising situations. Ame and Kiara caught on to the fan reaction and ramped up the teasing in session 2, most notably when Watoto gives Tiara a flower.
  • Shout-Out:
  • Where the Hell Is Springfield?: Mythton is apparently on America's Weast Coast. Yes, you read that right.
  • Year Inside, Hour Outside: Upon returning from The Hedge, which took as long as it did for the Mythbreakers to traverse a maze, discover a house, break-and-enter, and to defeat a mysterious sniper cloaked in green, no time passed from when they entered The Hedge to when they exited The Hedge.
  • You All Meet in an Inn: Calli herded the cast together at a bar that Madam M's family has been running for over 35 years.
