Team CStudios Adventure is a series of RPG games released on Gamejolt for PC, later for all platforms.
Team CStudios Adventure (2016): An episodic RPG (a la Telltale).
Team CStudios Adventure Season 2 (2017): You have the option to play as the heroes or the villains to defeat the other.
Team CStudios Adventure Season 3 (2018): An unfinished game about the politics of the world.
Team CStudios Adventure: Exploration (2020): The latest entry, the heroes explore a whole new continent.
The Team CStudios Adventure series contains examples of:
- The Archmage: Insanq. He made most of the spells that the antagonists and protagonists use. He even created the Chaos Emeralds.
- Arc Villain:
- Masked Entity 303 in Episode 1 of Season 1. Subverted when it turns out Masked Entity 303 is just McMagma
- Herobrine in the third episode of Season 1.
- BobTheBagel for most of Season 1, Episode 4. He does end up Hijacked by Ganon at the very end, however.
- Team Dark for the Hero Story in Season 2.
- Conversely, Team CStudios itself in the Dark Story.
- Herobrine for the Last Story. He could qualify as the Big Bad of the whole season, except he also ends up Hijacked by Ganon at the very end.
- Ava and the GÛP for Season 3.
- Alanna for the "Islands" arc of Exploration.
- Awesome Moment of Crowning: MrJoCrafter becomes the king of Astonia in the epilogue of Season 1's good ending.
- Becomes significantly less awesome when it's revealed the last king was assassinated.
- Author Avatar: MrJoCrafter, obviously.
- Bilingual Bonus: Georgian / East Astonian chracters in Season 3 speak in their native language (rendered as West Frisian) occasionally. Becomes a literal example of this trope - the language is translated for you if you have a member of the party who speaks it.
- Contrasting Sequel Antagonist:
- McMagma rarely speaks, while Herobrine is a Cold Ham.
- Ava is a realistic Anti-Villain as opposed to the Generic Doomsday Villain and Evil God, Herobrine and McMagma respectively.
- Alanna is The Tease and Affably Evil, while Ava, Herobrine, and McMagma were none of those things.
- Cutting Off the Branches: Season 2 follows after the Good ending of Season 1 - this is the only ending where DJSlime is alive, and obviously it doesn't follow after the Bad Ending.
- Downer Ending: Both the Normal and Bad endings of Season 1, Episode 4: in the first, DJSlime sacrifies himself to seal McMagma, and in the second, McMagma takes over the world after killing the protagonists.
- Elemental Powers:
- Playing with Fire:
- Chew's primary method of attack.
- As well as McMagma, if his name wasn't enough indication.
- Shock and Awe: DjSlime.
- An Ice Person: Ashton.
- Non-Elemental: ZachAttack
- Make Me Wanna Shout: Lance.
- Time Master: Bob and Jared, although only using the Time Warp skill.
- Light 'em Up: No specific character, but the Rainbow Beam skill.
- Casting a Shadow: Riley.
- Blob Monster: DJSlime and McMagma
- Pure Energy / Element No. 5: MrJoCrafter's Purple Magic.
- All Your Powers Combined: Insanq. He invented most of the above spells.
- Playing with Fire:
- Evil Counterpart: McMagma is this to DJSlime. They have similar names, and are respectively based on a magma cube and a green slime.
- For a given definition of evil, Insanq is shaping up to be this for MrJoCrafter.
- Guest-Star Party Member: Ashton is this in Season 1, Episode 4. He later joins the party full-time in Season 2, though.
- Hijacked by Ganon: McMagma, near-constantly. He pulls this in Season 1 twice, and in Season 2. Averted, so far, for Exploration.
- After spending a while with Alanna as the main villain, Bob and Jared join her in a Big Bad Ensemble.
- Last Episode, New Character: Ashton, Riley, the city of Sepstaris, and a few other concepts (like the name 'Astonia' for the setting) were introduced in Episode 4, the last episode of Season 1. Downplayed in that sequels continued on from that point.
- Morality Kitchen Sink: For a series with so much Heel–Face Revolving Door, it's inevitable:
- At white are characters who start and stay heroes: MrJoCrafter, ChewLeKitten, DJSlime, JTheGoldenHeart.
- At light grey are traversers of the Heel–Face Revolving Door: ZachAttack, LanceThePlaya, RileyGoughy (and by extension the rest of Team Brit).
- At medium grey are the anti-villains: Ava and Alanna.
- At dark grey, the recurring antagonists from the Rosquilite Kingdom, who might be willing to form an Enemy Mine but mostly serve their own ends: BobTheBagel, JaredTheBagel, SimonTheBagel, Ross
- At black are the main villains of the series, who only crave destruction or to rule: McMagma and Herobrine.
- And then there's Insanq.
- Public Domain Character: Herobrine.
- Royals Who Actually Do Something: MrJoCrafter doesn't stop fighting once he becomes the king of Astonia.
- Bob and Jared are Rosquilite princes, the former claims the throne.
- Ship Tease: MrJoCrafter and Alanna.
- Shout-Out:
- In the general structure of the series:
- Season 1 is a shoutout to Telltale games, specifically Minecraft: Story Mode. It even contains lines like "[Character] will remember that."
- Season 2 is one to Sonic Adventure 2. It has a 'Hero Story,' 'Dark Story,' and 'Last Story.' It even culminates in an Enemy Mine against a greater villain.
- The unfinished Season 3 is one to Paper Mario.
- In characters and skills:
- The attack description for the Review skill states "ZachAttack gets roight into the news!"
- Rainbow Beam is taken directly from the Wizards game on Mineplex.
- McMagma's disguise in the very first episode is called Masked Entity 303, in reference to a popular Minecraft Creepypasta.
- Fredbear shows up as a Giant Space Flea from Nowhere in Season 1, Episode 2.
- Herobrine is a boss in Season 1, Episode 3 and the Final Boss in Season 2.
- The Chaos Emeralds are a recurring artifact, and characters regularly take Super and Hyper forms.
- In the general structure of the series:
- Spell My Name with a "The": LanceThePlaya, BobTheBagel, JaredTheBagel, JTheGoldenHeart, ChewLeKitten...
- Universal-Adaptor Cast: Not in its own franchise, but the same set of characters and some of the same concepts play out an entirely different scenario in Bagel Investigators.
- Uneven Hybrid: Insanq is three-fourths elf. That makes his great-grandson, MrJoCrafter three-thirty-seconds elf.
- Your Terrorists Are Our Freedom Fighters: One of the main themes of Season Three. The terrorists in question are the Georgyske Ûnôfhinklike Partij.
- "Well Done, Son" Guy: Simon.
