  1. Trivia.Survivor Band: Jamison was a preferred choice as a vocalist for Deep Purple, after Ian Gillan left the band in the late 1980s, but the record company did not let it happen. They had to choose Joe Lynn Turner instead. "Eye of the Tiger" was originally not meant to exist at all. Sylvester Stallone had asked permission from Queen to let him use "Another One Bites the Dust" as the theme song to Rocky III, and when they denied him permission, his backup plan was to turn to Survivor and commission them to make a theme song for the movie, prompting them to create "Eye of the Tiger". Had Queen given Stallone permission to use the song, Survivor's biggest hit would never have been created.

In the parody manga Sensha Otoko: A True Tank Story, Waver Velvet is a girl and Iskandar's love interest. Enkidu, who in the canon is Ambiguous Gender but is usually referred to with male pronouns, is a girl and Gilgamesh's love interest.

Marvel had plans to relaunch the character the standard way, so Bendis modified some details of his unfinished comic, and she became a new character instead, Jessica Jones.

Trivia.Lego The Lord Of The Rings: Traveller's Tales originally stated after the release of The Hobbit plans to create DLC adapting the third film when it released, but circumstances caused that to be cancelled and them to move on to making the next LEGO game immediately, resulting in the story becoming an Accidental Downer Ending.
  19. Creator.Lauren Cohan: She initially auditioned for Ruby in Supernatural, but the role eventually went to Katie Cassidy. She still got cast as Bela Talbot, though. She had a show titled Heavenly for The CW that was never picked up. She was the top choice to play The Huntress on Arrow, but was already committed to The Walking Dead when production began. There were plans for her ro reprise the role of Martha Wayne, as the Flashpoint Joker along with Jeffrey Dean Morgan as its Thomas Wayne Batman. The plans fell through with the post-Batman v. Superman turmoils of the DC Extended Universe and The Flash ultimately has little to do with Flashpoint at all.

Trivia.Ruby Rocket Private Detective: Ruby's office was going to be revealed to be very cramped, with a joke where the client in the pilot walks for a while but hits the wall with the chair when he sits down. When Rick jumps out of bed, he was originally going to have a Gag Penis swing around and knock over a picture.
  21. Trivia.The Fortune: Bette Midler was the original choice for Freddie, but apparently, she asked Nichols at their first meeting, "What other movies have you done?". Cher also auditioned for the role, but Nichols turned her down.

Peter planned to gradually reveal Natasha's connections to Trawn, and how they got separated. However, he realized that in order to properly resolve "LuLo," he had to reunite Trawn and Natasha sooner. Thus, the readers learned about the connections much earlier than intended, leaving Peter to plan a flashback of her backstory for a later issue.

Trivia.Guest From The Future: The early version of the script got posted online (during Bulychev's lifetime and with his permission), and it is sometimes drastically different from the final result (there is a Broken Base on which of the changes were for the better). Among other things, it includes: a more detailed, Scenery Porn version of the Cosmozoo, a less human-looking Werther, a chess match where Rat is revealed to be a chess enthusiast, and a much more detailed final scene with Lucretia (Polina's name in the draft) comforting the children and praising their heroic actions.

But they rejected it as that would've required waiting for two hours, and they had other plans at the time. Goldmark somewhat regretted it as he would've pointed out in the review.

Trivia.Stormwatch: The final arc of Stormwatch Final Orbit where the majority of the cast are killed off-panel during a Wildcats/Aliens crossover instead of what you would expect the storyline to be: the confrontation between Sparks and Bendix which had been brewing since the middle of Ellis' run. The Bendix/Sparks confrontation happens but occurs across two pages. Thankfully years later a decent attempt was made at this storyline in the Revolution arc of Authority.
  28. YMMV.Dead Poets Society: If the filmmakers had gone with What Could Have Been where Mr. Keating died of leukemia combined with dejection at the loss of Neil Perry, it might have been even more tear-jerking and tragic in light of Robin Williams' suicide in 2014.

Trivia.Infinite Crisis: The shocking villain at the end of Countdown To Infinite Crisis was originally intended to be Silver Age Teen Titans ally Loren Jupiter, likely as revenge for his daughter Lilith Clay's death during Teen Titans/Young Justice: Graduation Day but Dan DiDio nixed it as he felt that his name, Mr. J, was lame and that nobody would know who he was. Combined with the first entry it's led to speculation that Nightwing was originally intended for Blue Beetle's spot in that story.

  32. WebVideo.Ben Drowned: The Artifact: Majora's Mask elements went on the back burner after the retooled second arc began. The original draft of the game, before Jadusable ran into financial problems, would've kept said elements to the end, however. Come Awakening, they're back.
  33. Trivia.Honey We Shrunk Ourselves: Elijah Wood was originally offered the role of Ricky, but he turned it down, due to not caring for the character. Jonathan Taylor Thomas was also considered.
  34. Trivia.Who Took The Super Out Of Superman: In the original script, Elliot S! Maggin wrote the next panel after Clark and Lois' date as Lois at work the next day, singing happily to herself, wearing the same outfit she had worn the night before. A coworker pointed this out, clearly implying that Lois had gotten lucky the night before. The editor, Julius Schwartz, made Maggin change it in the published edition, so that the line instead refers to Lois wearing a different outfit, even though it's clear from the drawing that it's the same outfit.
  35. Trivia.Dank Pods: In the TronicsFix collab, he promised to do a solo video on fixing the battery of the provided red iPod Touch. In the following months, DankPods had become less of an iPod mod channel and more of an audiophile channel, so the video went to waste. At the end of the Zune retrospective, Wade hinted at a sequel video on the Zune HD, which never materialised, partially because of how hard it is to obtain a Zune player.

Trivia.Lost Highway: The song accompanying Fred and Renee's sex scene, "Song of the Siren" by This Mortal Coil, was originally intended for use in Blue Velvet, but the filmmakers were unable to get the rights for it at the time. The Smashing Pumpkins' song "Tear" was actually written for the film, but Lynch rejected it. Billy Corgan, the band's frontman, reworked a rejected collaboration with Shaquille O'Neal, called it "Eye" and submitted that instead to Lynch, who loved it and placed it into the film's nightclub scene.

It never came together for D-12, but after 50 Cent signed with Dre's Shady/Aftermath label, he was brought into the studio and offered the track. According to Elizondo, he spent an hour writing the lyrics and recorded most of his vocals that night.

Robert Taylor, Ricardo Montalbán, and Sydney Greenstreet were originally cast as Athos, Aramis, and Richelieu.

Trivia.Dark Crisis: Red X was originally supposed to have had a role in the event, only for the plans to be dropped, implicitly due to the poor reception to the character's role in Teen Titans Academy. Mary Marvel was originally drawn in the introduction of Jon's new Justice League. However, as her mini-series, The New Champion of Shazam!, had been delayed, she was swapped with Supergirl.

Because he was allegedly originally meant to be bisexual, has no Love Interest and shows some Ambiguously Gay characteristics throughout the series, some fans consider Murray to be either gay or bisexual.

Trivia.City Of Lost Characters: The Day 21 challenge was going to be a "hide-and-seek" game with "changelings inside the store who were hiding as other people and items"note according to Firock on Skype. However, the player characters were busy with other things and the challenge never took place.

In reality, it's been implied that the reason there was no proper Wii U installment was because there was never any plans for one to begin with. During the marketing for New Horizons, series producer Aya Kyogoku would state that while conceptualization for the game began immediately after New Leaf shipped, they were planning for then-unknown future hardware, suggesting the next entry was planned for the 3DS successor rather than the Wii U, which released the same month as New Leaf.
  55. ThenLetMeBeEvil.Video Games: Final Fantasy XV Episode Ardyn reveals that Ardyn Izunia a. k.a. Ardyn Lucis Caelum was fated to fill the Big Bad role to Noctis' The Hero in Bahamut's plans to bring balance to Eos. When Bahamut reveals this to Ardyn, he snaps and decides he might as well embrace the role of an evil bringer of darkness. The Dawn of the Future novel (an adaptation of the cancelled DLC episodes Aranea, Lunafreya, and Noctis) reveal an Alternate Continuity wherein he does his role too well, and Bahamut decides to resort to an alternate plan that eventually leads to Ardyn performing a Heel–Face Turn; in accepting his role as a villain, he would have directly caused his redemption as a hero.
  56. Trivia.A Super Mario Thing: Before A2MT was lost to Development Hell, the Talkhaus actually had a storyline involving Demo's siblings and the universe's Big Bad. This was later worked into A2MBXT.
  57. Trivia.Manabu Nakanishi: After his MMA debut against Kazuyuki Fujita, Nakanishi talked about creating to create a MMA dojo in the vein of Seiji Sakaguchi. However, despite he had secured Enson Inoue's support for it, Nakanishi ended up ditching the idea.

It was retconned after the author deemed the scenario to be implausible; but opted to keep the events in its original form in 2020: Shots Fired and early chapters of And Our Flag Was Not There.
  63. Trivia.Wolverine And The X Men 2009: Refitted for Sequel: Well, refitted for new adaptation anyway. Elements of the plot of this series, such as the prominent involvement of Emma Frost and the Phoenix Force, were originally ideas for a possible fifth season of X-Men: Evolution.

Trivia.Insurgency Sandstorm: The single player went through two iterations before being dropped - the first was a Flash Back and Flash Forward between the 2004 Invasion of Iraq and the modern-day fight against ISIS from the viewpoint of a military vet. The second interwove this with female Kurdish fighters rebelling against ISIS rule in their village, then starting a resistance against the organization. The campaign was dropped in favor of the multiplayer (which returned to a non-specific Middle Eastern conflict) after the lead designer left.

  68. Trivia.Rock And Rule: The film was originally conceived to be more child friendly but as production went on, Nelvana changed the film to be more adult. Instead of strapping Angel to the soundboard and forcing her to sing the incantation, Mok was meant to transform Angel into a guitar and play her in order to summon the demon. Howie Mandel was originally going to voice Stretch, but he moved to Los Angeles before recording could begin.

Trivia.Doctor Who S 32 E 5 The Rebel Flesh: In the early drafts of the script, there were "so many copies of people running around the place" which made the story too confusing, so Matthew Graham and the production crew worked to make it more rational. The arrival of the TARDIS at St John's was originally more involved, and included the Doctor revealing the existence of a "dear little hatch" in the bottom of the police box. A "chief computer" was to feature in the dining room, which chatted with the humans in a Yorkshire accent. Jennifer originally had perfect recall, which explains why her Ganger is able to overcome the memory suppression protocols.
  70. Recap.Fanboy And Chum Chum S 2 E 9 Present Not Accounted For: The Voiceless: Dollarnator. A storyboard points out he was going to have a speaking role, but it was cut for time.
  71. Trivia.Shadow Of Rome: Spiritual Successor: Interestingly enough, it found one in the form of Dead Rising which was supposed to be the sequel to Shadow of Rome. Once this fell through due to the poor sales of the first title, Dead Rising was reworked into the game we all know today. Many core gameplay mechanics and designs, as well as things like the Artificial Stupidity of the allied AI, transferred over surprisingly intact.
  72. Trivia.Evil 2019: Deirdre O'Connell was originally cast as Sheryl Luria but left because of schedule conflicts, causing the part to go to Christine Lahti.

The spirit attached to the Godfelling Crossbow was originally supposed to be Qin Shi Huang before it was changed to Dajiaoyu since Fate/Grand Order beat the author to the punch.
  75. Trivia.Godsend: Robert De Niro was originally just supposed to cameo in the film. Director Nick Hamm was so excited about having him involved, he asked him to shoot more scenes. Five different endings were shot, and the one used in the final cut was the tamest of them.

Jack was originally going to be the Watson to Friedland Chymes's Sherlock Holmes, which is even called out at one point in early narration. A few drafts had Friedland as a Posthumous Character, and all of them indicated he was meant to be more heroic, rather than the Dirty Cop Miles Gloriosus we see in the final product. Another opener showcased the moments of Humpty Dumpty's death, and a third variant showed the legal proceedings in the Three Pigs murder trial.
  79. Trivia.The Vampire Lovers: James Carreras rejected a suggestion that Shirley Eaton play the lead on the grounds that she was too old. Ingrid Pitt, only 10 months younger than Eaton, was eventually cast. The role of the Man in Black was offered to Christopher Lee but he declined the role and John Forbes-Robertson was cast instead.

Trivia.The Mighty Boosh: Noel Fielding and Julian Barratt once revealed they wanted Vince and Howard to get together during the tv show, but they changed their mind for fear of the relationship getting dull. Possibly related to this is an unproduced script they talked about, which was an episode where Vince and Howard would take a potion that would lower their inhibitions to the point they have sex and wake up in bed together. On the Doctor Who special of Nevermind The Buzzcocks, Noel offered Bernard Cribbins a writing spot for the show after being impressed with Cribbins' awesome dry sense of humor. This has sadly not panned out.
