  • Angst? What Angst?:
    • This become a point of discussion in the 9th album. Khena has found his parents alive in the 16th century and also meet his younger sister and brother, Berengere and Thibaut who were born in the past. The children were completely unaware of their parents' true origins. Khena's father Torcal is happy to have found Khena, but is concerned that his continued presence and knowledge of the future might cause a trauma to his siblings. Ultimately, they agree to meet 1 year later to fetch them back to the future. In the interim, Torcal and his wife will properly train the younger children about the ways of the future. In later albums, Berengere and Thibaut have ajusted pretty well in Aktarka and are pursuing their academic studies.
    • Played with princess Lila of Atlantis. She was just a child when she was trapped in a cryogenic sleep. When she was awoken, she was horribly shocked to learn that 12000 years had passed and that she was the sole survivor of Atlantis. Making matters worse is that someone has unwillingly aged her into adulthood. Golok was revealed to be responsible for this. He showed her that she wasn't alone and survivors established a new civilization on another planet, Atlantis II. Lila was overjoyed to learn this. She rejoined her people and married Golok. The initial trauma of being the sole survivor, being robbed of her teenage years without her consent and then skipping straight into marriage with a complete alien stranger didn't bother her anymore.
  • Anvilicious: The series isn't shy of dropping many obvious moral lessons regarding war, over-reliance on technology, Green Aesop, racism, and safe sex.
  • Ensemble Dark Horse: The Galaxians, to the point of taking the Spotlight-Stealing Squad. There were even plans to give them their own spin-off.
  • Evil Is Cool: Thorgull, the cybernaut. Unlike other villains of the series who are laughable or ineffectual, he's a genuine and credible threat. Thorgull doesn't waste any time and prefer immediate actions to reach his goals. Combine with enhanced strength, superior fighting skills and a Cool Starship, you got the best villain of the series, period.
  • Fridge Logic: Aktarkanians' and Galaxians' houses are round in shape. Once inside however, they are square-shaped and have corners.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: Uncle Georges got smooched on the cheek by Ulla and blushed for allowing her to pursue archaeological research under his house. Years later, Ulla becomes uncle Georges' step-daughter when he marries Ulla's mother.
  • Squick:
    • The people of Aktarka are rather creepy. To identify their young children, they engrave their name on their skull. Granted, their advanced technology probably allow the process to be painless, but still...
    • One Galaxian waiter brought a cup of tea to his captain. Unfortunately, the ship was being rocked by turbulences. The captain was angered that his tea was spilled and refuse the excuses of his subordinate. The waiter brought another cup of tea and had the idea to swallow it. He then ran through the ship's corridor and spat the tea back in the cup before handing it to the captain who didn't suspect a thing.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: After all those years, Uncle Georges goes to the Galaxian home moon for the first time. By chance, the Galaxians needed an archeologist, which happen to be George's field of expertise. Disappointingly, all that work went to Georges' wife, who's also an archeologist, while Georges' role was reduced to the butthead of many accidents caused by the Galaxians.
