"You see, I was always a strange boy. I had a passion for animals, Arthur. Small animals especially. Birds. Rabbits. I was fond of the odd cat as well. Always fun to play with. Oh, so much fun to play with. I was very young when I first discovered the joys I took in the misery of others. I'd never experienced anything quite like it, you see. It was when I took a butcher knife, and I looked at a rabbit. Then, slowly...I skinned it alive. I liked every part of it. Every little whimper, every struggling attempt to get away. Its fur came off so very nicely. It just looked so pretty, all red. There was nothing I could do. It captured a high for me. It was like I had seen Heaven itself in that poor bunny's eyes. So, I went on... to bigger things. I went from bunnies to hounds, from hounds to pigs, from pigs to... No falling asleep! I'm not done talking, and I want you to feel every second of it! Anyways, where was I? Ah, yes. I moved from pigs to humans. Humans, they squeal like pigs, but they're so much more satisfying. So much more tender, and the way they run is so much more natural, you know? The hunt. The thrill of the chase. Not necessary, but akin to appetizers on a wondrous meal. Granted, pigs make better meals than men, but...that's when I came to understand. Do you get it now? No? You see, my good Arthur, there are three truths I've come to understand! Humans and Faunus alike, all people are livestock! Remnant is one big slaughterhouse! And I... intend to be...the butcher."
Tyrian Callows to Dr. Arthur Watts, Paths of Remnant, "Small and Helpless"

With a setting as incredibly harsh yet unique as Remnant, it is perhaps no surprise that thousands of authors have chosen to write their own unique take on the world, its characters, and their actions. Among this incredibly varied group of works come these despicable villains.

All spoilers are unmarked. You Have Been Warned!

    Examples
  • Arc Royale: Adam Taurus willingly serves Salem's goals despite knowing that her victory would end the world. Upon being Anchored to Revolutionary, Adam brutally tortures him just for being human, leaving him dehydrated and malnourished while regularly beating him. Rejecting Blake's attempts to redeem him while acknowledging that his victory will also kill every Faunus on Remnant, Adam throws away the lives of his soldiers against Knight and Atlas, uncaring of their deaths as long as he gets to satisfy his personal grudges. When he later kills Magnis, even the Adam inside Revolutionary's head fights him to the death out of pure disgust for his selfishness.
  • The Eternal Crown: Willow Schnee, far crueler than in canon, is a vicious, egotistical tyrant who uses her privilege to rule over Mistral with an iron fist. Fanatically dedicated to Salem, Willow is an abusive mother to her three children and attacks her subordinates for such minor slights as looking at her. Tasked with bringing Ozma in alive after his latest reincarnation in Jaune Arc's body, Willow is more than willing to raze Mistral if it leads to his capture. Following her latest failure to capture Jaune, Willow orders the deaths of one thousand Mistralians for every hour he refuses her demands of surrender, fully intent on carrying out this genocide even after he complies. So vile that her actions turn her children against her, she has her daughter Weiss imprisoned to be executed on the charge of blasphemy, and several Chosen, clergymen, and palace staff killed simply for disagreeing with her twisted worldview.
  • Forged Destiny: Raven Branwen, the leader of Greycloaks, is a murderous sociopath obsessed with becoming the "apex predator" of the entire existence. With that goal in mind, she resolves to summon and kill Salem, uncaring for the disastrous consequences this plan could entail. In order to gain enough power to fulfill her perceived destiny, Raven kills numerous people across Remnant and eventually murders her own brother for the sake of gaining more experience. Once she deems herself strong enough to defeat Salem, Raven attempts to torture Ruby to generate enough negativity for the ritual to be performed. When that fails, she instead decides to brutally slaughter all her followers, seeing no further use for them, an act which allows her to finally summon Salem into the material realm, endangering all mankind with extinction. Uncaring for anyone other than herself, Raven ends up killing thousands of people and causing untold destruction in her quest for power.
  • Knight of Salem: Jax Asturias is a slaver whose depravity knows no limits. Founding the Crown organization to restore him to the top of the Vacuo monarchy, Jax uses it as a Human Trafficking ring, typically going after young orphans in particular because no one would miss them. After enslaving Jaune just because they happened to cross paths, it's revealed that Jax has been kidnapping people for years, enslaving hundreds of men, women, and children along the way. Within his club, he also forces the women to prostitute themselves to his guests, an act which manages to disgust even Salem herself. Believing himself to be above all others, Jax attempts to enslave Salem as well so as to make her his bride, sending his own helpless slaves to fight her when that doesn't work.
  • Null: Matthew Fields is the CEO of Chivalric Arms, as well as the leader of the conspiracy Jaune finds himself victim of. A ruthless Bad Boss, Fields orders the death of everyone connected to the conspiracy as soon as they're discovered, ensuring he will never be caught or punished for his many, many crimes. After Fields orders Jaune's capture, his forces murder Nicholas Arc and kidnap the rest of the family for experimentation and torture, hoping to replicate Jaune's Semblance by any means necessary. He also plans to sterilize the entire Faunus population simply to wipe out the White Fang, showing himself to be a racist of genocidal proportions. Upon learning of the power of Ruby's silver eyes, he orders her captured as well, and kidnaps Neopolitan and tortures her to the point of muteness for her own Semblance. Despite his friendly persona and attempts to claim he's doing what's best for Remnant, Fields proves himself to be a genocidal psychopath who couldn't care less about the hundreds of deaths he has caused.
  • Professor Arc:
    • Adam Taurus is the psychopathic leader of the White Fang who seeks Faunus supremacy over humankind. Leading his forces during the Battle of Beacon, Adam slaughters countless students and innocents while leaving his own forces to die with the Grimm, luring Blake to a confrontation in which he blames Jaune for "stealing" her and attempts to murder his family. Believing Sienna to be weak for not supporting his invasion, Adam plots her assassination via his security team, and when that fails, he schemes with Tyrian Callows to kill Jaune on a mission. Driven to a mad rage by Jaune's continued survival, Adam attacks the Schnee family manor to draw him out, taking dozens of people hostage and threatening to kill all of them if he doesn't arrive. Spiteful to his last breath, Adam rejects Jaune's attempts to reach out to him and dies believing that Jaune will prove him right.
    • Hazel Rainart, far more ruthless than his canon counterpart, is one of Salem's lieutenants. Blaming Ozpin for the death of his sister at the hands of the Grimm, Hazel joined Salem's cause when she promised to kill him, disregarding that it was her army that killed Gretchen in the first place. Participating in the Battles of Beacon and Haven, Hazel comes up with the plan to steal the Relic of Creation, knowing that it would cause Atlas to crash into Mantle and kill millions of people. When Salem actually agrees to peace with humanity following the siege of Vale, Hazel goes completely mad, attempting to bring the Relics together himself—knowing full well that it will destroy Remnant completely—just to put Ozpin down for good. When Ozpin tries to point out that he's only hurting his sister in her afterlife by committing these atrocities in her name, Hazel simply mocks him by gloating about the power of the Relics he wields, no longer caring for anything but satisfying his own grudges. Despite claiming to be against unnecessary casualties, Hazel proves there's no line he's unwilling to cross for the sake of his misplaced vengeance.
  • A Rabbit Among Wolves:
    • Cinder Fall, lacking any of Coeur's usual sympathetic treatment, is instead a spiteful and petty lieutenant of Salem. Following the death of Adam Taurus, Cinder is forced to seek a new group for her "army", doing so by going around the Vale underworld, burning alive anyone she can find, and forcibly recruiting the survivors. Intending to either kill or frame Jaune Arc to inflame racial tensions in Vale, Cinder has him shot at the Vytal Festival, instigating a riot; kills his prisoner transport while leaving White Fang symbols behind, causing several more riots in the streets; detonates bombs on the Amity Colosseum, threatening thousands of lives; and sets a trap for Sienna Khan that would force Jaune to watch her die. After killing the Fall Maiden, Cinder then gets enraged by Jaune's survival and promises to exterminate the entire Faunus race, all because Jaune once accidentally called her a stripper.
    • Elizabeth Tanner is the forewoman of the SDC lumber camp that Jaune investigates. Presenting an aura of being tough yet fair, Tanner coerces Faunus with nowhere else to go into a debt trap that leaves them stuck in her camp for over a decade, underpaying them for their hard labor so as to keep them for longer. She also takes advantage of her power to rape young, male Faunus in her camp, threatening to make them suffer if they don't comply. Attempting to rape Jaune as well, she quickly reveals her true colors as a racist psychopath, believing that she is above the law just because of her power and race, and threatens to make Jaune and Trifa suffer for denying her what she wants. Vile to her core, Tanner's actions represent the worst of the racism Faunus face every day, and it is her actions that truly open Jaune's eyes as to the abuse they suffer.
    • The boss of the brothel Jaune investigates proves to be the vilest enemy he's ever faced. Luring in victims from outside of the Kingdom with promises of a repaired life, the boss's gang instead enslaves them for his clients, with everything from rape to torture being permitted as the clients would like; he also forcefully drugs his victims until they're addicted in order to ensure they don't try to flee. When confronted by the White Fang and Team RWBY, the boss personally shoots one of his prisoners to save his own life before beginning to destroy any incriminating evidence.
  • Raise: Jax Asturias, as always, is a vicious slaver with a dangerous ambition. Seeking Jaune's resurrective powers for himself, Jax tests them by having his own ally Carmine killed, later on trying to have him kidnapped from his bed. When this doesn't work, Jax has his slaves attack the Atlas forces directly, uncaring that this will likely lead to their deaths due to their lack of training.
  • Relic of the Future:
    • Dr. Arthur Watts, one of Salem's top lieutenants, is a petty and narcissistic sociopath who cares for nothing but his own ego. Joining Salem's cause over a nonexistent slight against him, Watts is willing to do anything required of him with no qualms or regrets, including personally kidnapping two 10-year-old children and leading another kidnapping of a teenager. When Jaune offers to cut him in on a deal for a new energy source, Watts takes offense, believing that Jaune is implying that he is smarter by declaring him a "partner". In response, Watts steals Winter's soul and leaves her an empty and comatose shell, taking glee in the fact that he's too valuable to Salem's cause to be punished. When Jaune follows him to Argus, Watts takes the entire city's power grid hostage, declaring that if Jaune attempts to catch him, he'll throw the entire city back into the Stone Age, starting with the city's hospital. Believing himself akin to a God because of his computer skills, Watts spreads nothing but terror and death wherever he goes.
    • Jax Asturias is the leader of the Crown, a Human Trafficking organization working to install him as King of Vacuo. With his Semblance of Mind Control, Jax enslaves anyone who crosses his path to recruit them for his "army", including winners of the fight club he manages and even children as young as eight; their minds and personality are left intact, yet they can do nothing to stop him. Desperate for others to feed his ego, he also makes a plan to enslave Rashem, force him to run Vacuo's economy into the ground, and then kill him; if it had succeeded, Rashem's pregnant wife would have been killed as well. Jax's ego has him override his sister and Carmine and attack Jaune Ashari and Qrow Branwen, using his enslaved army of unarmed and untrained civilians to ensure he doesn't have to get his hands dirty himself, all out of a childish belief that Vacuo is all his.
  • The Self Made Man: Hannah Steele is the leader of the Black Sun, an Atlas nationalist organization that seeks to subjugate Vale on Atlas's behalf. Introduced kidnapping Jaune's innocent girlfriend and then stabbing her underling through the hand for talking back to her, Steele voices her intention to wipe out every gang in Vale. To this end, Black Sun annihilates every gang they can find, uncaring of the civilians caught in the crossfire and even being willing to bomb a building in the middle of a crowded street. When this inevitably escalates into an all-out gang war, Black Sun begins mowing down everyone they can possibly can, with Steele's only final regret being that she didn't kill Jaune sooner.

Ruby and Nora series

    Examples
  • Void, the God Of Destruction, is far worse than in the show. Envious because he is incapable of creating universes like other gods, Void joins his brother Light in his plan to become the most powerful beings in existence. Void kills countless gods and enables his brother to steal energy from their universes, killing all beings in them. Banished to Remnant, Void joins his brother in slaughtering all of humanity before being sealed away. He makes contact with Salem and empowers her to murder her father and create the Creatures of Grimm, promising her godhood if she frees him. Finally freed, Void depowers Salem and absorbs all Grimm into himself, creating a massive black hole to devour all of Remnant.
  • Salem is far worse than her canon counterpart. Imprisoned for killing her sister, she then slaughtered her father and the rest of her Kingdom after being empowered by Void. Making a deal with Void to summon him to Remnant in exchange for godhood, Salem created the Grimm to "tear humanity to shreds". Secretly committing multiple atrocities throughout her immortal life, she eventually stepped out from the shadows to begin her endgame. In the form of Cinder Fall, Salem recruits many to her cause, some through Mind Rape and blackmail, and will kill them for failure or when they have no more use to her. Salem has them cause death and destruction to begin the Fall of Beacon, where she kills many heroes, including Weiss. Mutilated by Ruby's silver eyes, Salem sends her allies to kill her for revenge, brutally killing one of them when they fail. Left out of commission after the Battle of Haven, Salem returns to slaughter the entirety of the Kingdom of Vacuo, kill Willow Schnee, and finally summon Void to be made a goddess who can torture her enemies for all eternity.
  • Mercury Black lacks the Freudian Excuse of his canon counterpart, leaving only a vicious sadist with a love for killing. After killing his parents, Mercury joined up with Salem just for the opportunity to kill more people. Leading assaults against the CCT towers so he could insert the Black Queen Virus into them, Mercury killed both ally and enemy alike with sadistic glee. He then bombed a building, killing his men and a security guard, to make Ironwood paranoid enough to use the Atlas Knights and Paladins. When the Fall of Beacon begins, Mercury single-handedly slaughters the guards keeping shields around Vale up, shutting them down and letting the Grimm devour the populace. After that, he has his fun shooting civilians in the legs and watching the Grimm tear them to shreds. Later, in Mistral, Salem leaves Lionheart's wife and son in his care, but Mercury, in his sadism, kills them both. During the battle for Haven, Mercury mocks the heroes about the loved ones they lost due to Beacon's Fall.
  • Jacques Schnee is an Abusive Parent and ruthless businessman willing to do anything to get ahead. He was willing to trick his father-in-law into signing over the Schnee Dust Company and then poisoned him after he signed it over. When Winter catches him, he threatens to kill the then-infant Weiss to scare her into not saying anything. In the present, he tricks Ironwood into giving him control of Atlas to allow Salem to kill him so he can keep control. Under his control, Atlas becomes a total dictatorship. He lobotomized Faunus to enslave them, causing a Death of Personality so they don't fight back. He had the military raze Menagerie because he was running out of Faunus. When the protagonists return, he takes them all prisoner. He kills Jekyde and Ciel with acid for treason and watches them die. Later, he prepares to lobotomize Winter before being stopped by Willow, who is the Winter Maiden. While locked in his office with his wife, he believes that he was doing everything right and that everyone angry about it is being ungrateful. When Willow confronts him, he shamelessly admits to killing her father.
  • Raven Branwen is far more ruthless than her canon counterpart. Ruthless and manipulative since she was a teenager, Raven abandoned Yang after the death of Taiyang, joining up with Salem after seeing her power, beginning their alliance by decapitating Tyrian. Raven returned to her tribe and killed her father to take his place as leader. She then leads raids against villages, where men, women, and child are abducted to be sold into slavery, while the rest are tied up to be left as Grimm bait so she and her tribe can escape. Two of these raids resulted in Ren and Nora being orphaned. Years later, Raven is tasked to kill Ruby by Salem. To do this, she bombs the bridge the train Ruby and Nora were taking was on, causing it to crash. She and her men then proceeded to execute any survivors who weren't Ruby, with the latter barely saving Nora before Raven killed her. When Nora is powered up by one of Raven's men hitting her with a stun baton, Raven ditches them to save herself. Meeting up Summer's group, Raven manipulates them to lead her to where Ruby is, and during the battle of Haven, orders her men to kill the whole group, including her brother and daughter.
  • Field Trip: Father Tiresias Scorch is a bat-Faunus who is the leader of the White Fang, and the man responsible for turning it into a terrorist organization. He claims to be a messenger of the gods and wants to rid the world of humans and homosexuals. His first act in the story is forcing Ilia to kill her lover, Lily, after they were caught kissing each other. He later finds out about the Beacon students after Adam caught Blake and Yang, after which he orders the teachers to be brought to him to watch the destruction and the students to be killed, promising to show Ruby's body to Yang. He loads bombs onto a train running under Vale to let Grimm into the city to destroy it, while allowing several of his men to die when they go off. He surveys the destruction with satisfaction, but when his plan fails, he kills Ren and Ilia out of spite. He cared for no one but himself and even referred to his own followers as replaceable.
  • The Road to Atlas: Light, the God of Creation, is a far cry from his canonical portrayal. Wishing to be the only God of Creation, Light manipulated his brother Void, the God of Darkness, into helping him killing other universes' Gods and absorb their suns, leaving the universes' inhabitants to freeze to death. Having destroyed thousands of universes by the time they were caught by Remnant's God Spectrum, Light and Void slaughter Remnant's humanity to spite Spectrum after the latter punished them by depowering them and forcing them to live alongside humanity. A petty, selfish God Driven by Envy, Light's actions and manipulations left so many universes destroyed that even the all-knowing Jinn can't accurately guess their correct number.
  • Nora's Life (non-canon): General Hayden White is the abusive general of the kingdom of Atlas. White shows how vile he is when he refuses to evacuate villages from a Grimm, all for the sake of his ego. White is also a Serial Rapist who regularly rapes the women in the villages he was supposed to protect and kills them afterwards. White attempted to do the same to Nora's mother and force Nora to watch out of pure sadism. When they escape, White allows Nora's village to be destroyed to cover up his crimes and murders any of his men that get in his way. When confronted by Nora, he admits that he doesn't even remember what happened.

War of Remnant

    Multiple Volumes
  • Dr. Arthur Watts is a narcissist willing to kill anyone in the way of his enormous ego. When James Ironwood showed preference to a soldier named Nicholas Shade, Watts responded by brainwashing Shade into a Serial Killer called the Nightwalker, causing many innocent deaths, and faking his own death with an airship crash that killed his entire family. When Winter confronts Shade, Watts orders him to capture her so he can mutilate her body for James to find, but when she fixes the brainwashing first, Watts kills him to protect his identity. Later on, Watts masterminds an attack on the unveiling of the new Knights, intending to kill all the dozens of innocents inside; when the attack is a failure and the terrorists have to retreat, Watts kills them all to cover up his involvement. Later on, Watts provides Cinder Fall the virus necessary to cause the Fall of Beacon, willing to kill everyone in Vale for the sake of his misplaced vengeance; he later personally ensures Vale's fall by manipulating the Vytal Tournament, tricking Pyrrha Nikos into murdering Penny Polendina while Penny's father Pietro and girlfriend Ruby Rose are Forced to Watch. Moving on to Atlas, Watts ensures Jacques Schnee becomes the sole council member in Atlas, then takes Atlas materials to Vacuo with the intent to completely destroy it.
  • Jacques Schnee is the CEO of the Schnee Dust Company and the leader of his own criminal empire. After manipulating his grieving wife to steal the company from her, Jacques stole her shares to ensure she would never leave him, then began regularly emotionally and physically abusing his children. Jacques immediately institutes dangerous budget cuts, leading to dangerous events like cave-ins becoming regular occurrences and leading to dozens of deaths among his workforce; his workers also commit heinous crimes like branding their workers, with Neon Katt's mother committing suicide from the trauma. Among other heinous acts, Jacques forces his daughter Weiss to witness terrorists execute his board of directors so that she'll become a racist like him; bombs the rally of a political opponent, killing dozens of innocents; buys trafficked slaves from the Crown to work in his mines; assassinates any business rivals, including Flynt Coal's father; and masterminds a terrorist attack on a mall with the White Fang, double-crossing them afterwards for the sake of stoking anti-Faunus tensions, all the while planning on running for the Council to take even more power for himself. Through assassinations, Jacques becomes the sole council member of Atlas, then gives Watts access to his resources so he can destroy Vacuo.
  • Damian Void is the man responsible for the White Fang's many atrocities. Funding the Fang as a way to exterminate humanity, Damian targets the Faunus just as much as he targets humans, making no secret that he's only interested in killing as many people as possible. After ordering Roman to attack Team RWBY with the Paladin, Damian later takes Ruby hostage when he finds her in Mountain Glenn; when she refuses to talk, Damian electrocutes her until her Aura breaks, then holds a knife at her throat to make her team back off. When allied with Cinder Fall, Damian funds the Breach, intending to massacre everyone in Vale simply to kill a few of his business rivals and to satiate his endless sadism. When this fails, Damian executes his own henchman for annoying him, then goes on a killing spree across Vale, taking back what he believes is owed for the Breach's failure. Damian later joins Adam Taurus's assault on Vale by having his forces go through the streets and apartments slaughtering everyone in sight, with his men executing entire apartment buildings worth of people. It is later revealed that Damian helped corrupt his cousin Sienna into radicalizing the White Fang to begin with, and as the Belladonnas try to retake the Fang, Damian leads an assault on their home and gleefully tortures Ghira Belladonna just for more fun.
  • Adam Taurus, the "Spiteful Bull", remains as sadistically petty as ever. As a terrorist that primarily targets civilian populations, Adam already has over 50 kills to his name after two attacks, racking up dozens more when he bombs a restaurant. When Winter Schnee publicly calls him a coward, Adam demands she take it back; when she doesn't, Adam seeks her home and murders her wife and infant daughter out of pure spite. When Winter arrives a moment too late, Adam briefly spares her so she'll die in pain, then sets her apartment on fire to escape in the chaos; fresh off this incident, Adam attempts to murder Ciel Soleil's team and kills her partner Dawn. Adam later orders his forces to kill everyone in sight during the fall of Vale, including other Faunus, before making his way to Beacon and personally killing students there; when he discovers Blake Belladonna in the chaos, he first rapes her with his gun — having also raped her when she was fifteen — then slices off Yang Xiao Long's arm just to further spite her for leaving him. Turning his eyes to Mistral, Adam's forces destroy an airship and kill over a hundred innocent people, then plant bombs all over Haven's campus to kill everyone there. When the plan goes awry, Adam tries to kill everyone there, including his own men, out of spite, and when he returns to the throne room, he takes out his rage by massacring his loyal forces because he knows they won't fight back.
  • Volumes 4 & 5: Wendigo is the first of Salem's followers, and one of the most sadistic. Originally a human before being transformed into a Grimm by Salem, Wendigo leads his forces in slaughtering villages throughout the centuries, with both Nora Valkyrie and Li Ren losing their parents to his spree. When Ren and Nora escape, Wendigo, intent on finishing what he started, arrives at an orphanage in Mistral while hunting them and butchers everyone inside, children included. When Summer Rose, Ruby's mother, attempted to stop him from causing further destruction, Wendigo murdered her in front of her old lover, Raven Branwen, then left Raven alive solely to suffer. Mockingly revealing his role in Summer's death to Ruby, Wendigo later massacres every huntsman in Mistral alongside Hazel Rainart, feeding his victims the remains of their families after he forces them to watch him cutting them to pieces. After this results in one of his victims being Driven to Suicide, Wendigo drops off the rest of the bodies for Qrow Branwen, a friend of the victim, to find, leaving behind a note to rub it in Qrow's face.

    Volume 4
  • "CFVY" and "Vacuo" Arcs: Jax Asturias manages to be even worse than his canon counterpart. On top of running an international Human Trafficking ring that leads to countless slaves being sent to Carter and Jacques, Jax deals bad heroin that leads to countless deaths. After ordering the deaths of all his customers, Jax has his slaves and forces move through the Vacuo countryside killing everyone they see, leading to over five thousand deaths, and framing Atlas for all of them. Jax's ultimate end goal is to start a war between Atlas and Vacuo so he can martyr hundreds of his own people and destroy both Atlas and Mantle, even personally murdering his own sister when she gets in his way.
  • "Rise of The Tiger" Arc: Ronald Atwood uses his role as a beloved teacher to hide his status as a serial child molester. Claiming 55 victims before attempting to molest Alessandro Khan, Atwood becomes infinitely worse upon being recruited by the assassin Lurker. Atwood begins filming himself torturing, mutilating, and raping children, sending the tapes to Sienna Khan out of vengeance for being caught, and even leaving several decapitated heads on her lawn. Eventually targeting Alessandro again, Atwood cuts off his limbs and removes all of his senses before trying to rape Blake, refusing to the end to accept that he ever did anything wrong.

Others

    A - R
  • Dark: Ruby Rose is reimagined as "the Reaper", a psychopathic Serial Killer with ambitions of godhood. Introduced killing her own parents, Ruby then cuts off her half-sister Yang Xiao Long's arms and eyes out of pure sadism. Enslaving her, Ruby humiliates and abuses her on a daily basis for kicks or for minor or imagined offenses and forces her to kill innocents. Breaking into houses, Ruby slaughters the families inside, children and babies included. One case involves her breaking into a barn, killing an old lady, then "violating" a boy to the point he begged for death. Blocking the escape route during Vale's bombing, Ruby tried to kill the survivors who wanted to flee, taking Cinder Fall's eye. Holding a grudge against Neopolitan for having smacked her in the face, Ruby kills her by cutting her in half.
  • Deathstalker (link): Weiss Schnee, a far cry from her canonical heroic self, killed so many people in Atlas—and successfully hid their corpses—that when she joined Beacon Academy, the number of missing Atlesian people was significantly reduced. Discovering that her best friend and teammate Ruby Rose killed three people when she was 12 and obsessed by the murderer Ruby used to be, Weiss killed their mutual friend and teammate Blake Belladonna by beating and strangling her, imitating Ruby's former modus operandi, hoping for the former to help the investigation. Killing Sun Wukong as well to move the case along, Weiss gleefully confessed her crimes to Ruby when the latter caught her, and tried to convince her to join her in her killing spree, threatening to kill more people if she refuses. Hiding her true nature, Weiss horrified even her mentally unstable friends Pyrrha and Ruby.
  • Destinies of Remnant:
    • "Be Glad You Existed": Dr. Arthur Watts is a petty narcissist who wants to destroy all of Remnant out of pure spite. Willingly signing up with Salem for this opportunity, Watts previously killed his own ally Tyrian to ensure he would receive the mission to destroy Vale. After arriving, Watts massacres everyone inside the CCT, having already recruited the White Fang to his cause to invade the city. After his plan to have the Fang invade the city with Grimm units to kill everyone fails, Watts first tries to kidnap Ruby Rose so Salem can have her Silver Eyes, then tries to blow up the CCT to take everyone inside with him out of spite.
    • "This World Will Have No Peace": Jacques Schnee is the epitome of racism and corruption. After taking over the Schnee family and company, Jacques began increasing his labor force through the usage of slave labor, enslaving thousands of Faunus civilians, children, and prisoners for his mines. In order to provide an excuse for him to enslave even more people, Jacques began secretly backing the White Fang's various operations under shell companies, manipulating them so he can profit from them in stock and monetary value. Viewing everyone else as nothing more than his property, Jacques snaps when Klein quits on him, choking him to death himself before ordering his forces to destroy all of his factories and mines, an act he knows will destroy all of Atlas, just to satisfy his ego.
    • "Small and Helpless": Tyrian Callows is a psychopathic Serial Killer who seeks nothing less than the complete destruction of all humanity, one person at a time. Tasked by Salem to capture Ruby, Tyrian kills Taiyang, only to become enraged when Tai cuts off his tail. Enraged by this slight, Tyrian would then spend years stalking Ruby, always killing her neighbors after enough time no matter where she went. Completely rejecting Salem's orders in favor of fulfilling his vendetta, Tyrian murders his own partner Watts, tortures and kills a barista in order to find her, and then massacres an entire police station of police officers just for another shot at her. Having long since shed his humanity in favor of forging himself into the ultimate killing machine, Tyrian's brutality is only matched by his horrific creativity.
    • The Black Knight: The High Priest of the Witch Hunters, truthfully Cardin Winchester, is a power-hungry maniac who takes advantage of Cinder's invasion to take over Vale for himself. Leading his forces across the kingdom, the High Priest kills anyone in his way and forcibly conscripts the rest into his loyal soldiers, personally slaying 150 people himself. Throwing away the lives of his soldiers when Jaune Arc attacks, the High Priest then takes his 200 recent conscripts hostage, saying that he'll execute them all if Jaune doesn't face him while planning to execute them all anyway just to Make an Example of Them; he even takes the time to strangle one of his hostages to death just because she happened to resemble Pyrrha Nikos.
  • Five Minutes to Midnight: Pan is the jovial, childlike leader of the Sunrise Society crime syndicate. Responsible for several accounts of child trafficking all across Mistral and beyond, Pan and the Sunrise Society abduct countless children and sell them off to wealthy families, with Cinder Fall and Emerald Sustrai being but two of many children, ending up child slaves in the Glass Unicorn. The children are mistreated, underfed, and implied to be sleep-deprived under the Sunrise Society's care, and the clients and members of the Sunrise Society aren't safe from Pan's power and wrath either, with the former killed if their activities attract too much legal attention, and the latter forced to join after the Sunrise Society bribes local hospitals into stopping treating their sick and wounded relatives unless they work for them. When Qrow Branwen, Taiyang Xiao Long, and Cinder storm his main base, Pan has no issue trying to imprison and later on kill them, with Cinder being no more than 15.
  • Fixing RWBY: Cinder Fall is an ambitious agent of Salem, whose actions have left the world in a state of disunity and chaos. Cinder is responsible for stealing the powers of the Fall Maiden by killing the previous host, causing the Fall of Beacon, and has the deaths of countless civilians and friends of Ruby Rose at her feet. Using an alias to create articles to stir up tensions during the Vytal Festival, emotionally manipulating students to create more drama, downloading a virus into Penny to force Pyrrha to use lethal force against the robot girl; these acts aid Cinder in dividing humanity once more. In Mistral, Cinder participates in killing off most of Mistral's Huntsmen, as well as wiping out any bandit tribe she comes across in her search for Raven. Cinder supports Adam Taurus and the White Fang's plan to start a wide-scale coup to take control of Mistral and all of Anima, which would not only allow Adam to take control of the kingdom and continent but trigger a second Great War as well.
  • I Rewrote RWBY Volume 8: Dr. Arthur Watts, in addition to his canon crimes, has proven himself to be a spiteful and sadistic individual who will cross any line to hurt those he feels have wronged him. When James Ironwood sincerely apologizes to Watts for making him feel like he overlooked his research and hard work, he offers a chance to fix their old friendship if he helps save Atlas by removing the virus and restoring Mantle's heating grid. Instead, Watts manipulates Ironwood by secretly going though Pietro's files from the Penny project in order to hack into Penny, planning to use her to get the Staff of Creation and kill everyone present. Once Watts controls Penny, he has her attack Cinder Fall for going against Salem's orders, having her blast Cinder off Amity and to the mountains; hoping Penny will serve as a better replacement for Cinder as the vessel for the Maiden's power. When confronted by Winter and Ciel in the dust mines, Watts has Penny try to kill them by deactivating the Amity Tower's gravity system, hoping to crash into them. Watts goes against Salem's orders in order to steal the Staff and kill Ironwood along with everyone else.
  • The Makings of Team CRME:
    • My Name Is Cinder: Brigit Stark is Cinder Fall's mother, who married Cinder's rich and depressed father Anthony to take his wealth for herself, withholding therapy from her husband and attempting to get rid of all of their children when each was newborn in the process, all to claim the full inheritance. When a 6-year-old Cinder accidentally learns about Brigit's true colours, Brigit finds and nearly strangles her to death. Growing impatient, Brigit reveals her intentions to her husband, driving him to suicide. Physically and mentally abusing Cinder, trying to tempt her to suicide as well and turning her siblings against her, Brigit eventually fatally poisons Sterling to keep her money. A thoroughly empty, hedonistic, and irredeemable monster beneath the façade of a beautiful and dutiful wife and mother, Brigit left psychological scars in Cinder long after her death, molding her into the monster she'd become.
    • The Black Hearts: Marcus Black was a soldier who chose the job for his love of killing. After being discharged for an assault on Vacuo, Marcus becomes an assassin for hire. He forces his son Mercury into the trade, putting him through brutal training and forcing him to kill people, also mistreating his wife Melanie. During a kill mission, Mercury notices the man has a child with him, and Marcus demands Mercury kill her. Marcus charges extra to torture the victims to death, like the way he laughingly recalls the death of Azura Michaels to her son Cobalt, who snaps and stabs his father Jaylin to death since the latter hired Marcus for the job. After Melanie leaves him, a fed-up Mercury tells Marcus how much he hates him, and Marcus attacks Mercury, planning to kill him "free of charge".
  • Noir AU (link): Cinder Fall is the Big Bad of The Phoenix. A Serial Killer of women, Cinder prefers manipulating married women into sleeping with her, before taking their money and wedding rings and forcing them to commit suicide while promising the protection of their wives, only to have Mercury kill them afterwards. Having done so to Vernal Branwen, Kali Belladonna, and Penny Polendina, Cinder tries to do the same to Weiss Schnee. With Weiss and company foiling her plans, Cinder kills her servant Emerald to cover her tracks, attempting to leave town and start again elsewhere.

  • Team LVDR:
    • Blaze Caustos, the Big Bad of Volume 1, is a deranged, sadistic bigot who used his father's position to torture and murder Faunus. At Beacon Academy, Blaze was arrested along with his two teammates, Zoe and August, for their brutal treatment of their teammate Lila. After escaping from prison, Blaze threw an ignited fire dust crystal at Lila, resulting in her losing her eye and leg, but was arrested again. Breaking out once more, Blaze slaughtered the prison guards, as a fellow prisoner who didn't want to join his side. In a plot with Indus Riverside, he forced a fellow prisoner to commit a Suicide Attack so Blaze could get his weapons back, then assisted Indus in slaughtering his old crew. After killing two Faunus women to blow off steam, Blaze attempted to kill Lila and Penny, but ran away after Penny and Lila turned the tables. Almost beating Indus to death for abandoning him, Blaze agreed to spare him after Indus offered up all 400 of his prisoners. Blaze then ordered Indus to trick LVDR into going to their old HQ, gleefully killing Indus's prisoners as this was going on. After Indus successfully lead LVDR into their trap, Blaze kills a little girl in front of the team, then reveals he hasn't actually forgiven Indus and blows him up in a mad attempt to kill LVDR.
    • Indus Riverside is a vicious Faunus trafficker. Prior to the series, Indus and his dragon slaughtered a group of fellow traffickers just to avoid paying them. When team LVDR, at that time lead by Lavender, arrived to stop him, Indus kills Lavender before being captured. After breaking out with the help of Blaze, and helping Blaze force the prisoner commit the suicide attack, Indus, attacking his old crew, personally executed his ex-dragon. He then led Blaze to where he was keeping the Faunus prisoners, and handed him two Faunus women for him to murder. Indus and Blaze then attempted to kill Lila and Penny, but Indus ditched Blaze to save himself when the latter managed to turn the tables. When Blaze escaped and confronted him, Indus offered all 400 of his prisoners to save himself, not really caring about Blaze slaughtering most of them. Tasked with luring LVDR into a trap, Indus abducted one of the members, Rosa, and cut her face, then sent a video to the rest of the team using her scroll. A self-serving monster behind his chummy demeanor, Indus represents the worst of Faunus discrimination.
  • Team RAIN: Kamala Braith is the mentally disturbed, psychopathic leader of the Braith siblings. She believes that all of Remnant is out to get her, and uses this belief to justify her desire to cause as much pain and death to others as possible. To fulfill this goal, Kamala along with her siblings turn humans into Grimm hybrids though painful transformations by injecting liquified Grimm into them. Even her siblings aren't safe from her wrath, as Kamala will not hesitate to psychically abuse them and emotionally manipulate them by guilt-tripping them, implying that she tortured Viola offscreen to make her more obedient. Kamala leads an attack on Robin's home village Knothole, where she brutally murders Robin's father Orion and blasts Robin to the point of permanent eye damage. It's later revealed that Kamala had the surviving residents of Knothole, including Robin's mother Artemis and older brother Roderick, kidnapped in order to be used for test subjects. When her sibling Viorel hires mercenaries to help them, Kamala brutally shoots one in the head and threatens the rest into submission. When her siblings return to report their failure, Kamala berates them and kills the only survivor that came back, viewing his survival as proof of his stupidity.

    • Salem is a witch who wants to rid the world of humanity for fun. Originally Ciara Summerlyn, she found a mystical pool that could grant one immortality, and decided to use the nearby villagers as her test subjects, uncaring that the pool kills them. Renaming herself Salem and desiring the destruction of the world, Salem created the Grimm for her army and recruited murderer Adam Taurus to help steal the nuke launch codes from President Ghira Belladonna. She sends Cinder to massacre the city of Vale, allows Adam to kill as many humans as he wants, and even kills Penny in front of her lover Ruby.
    • Adam Taurus is a faunus supremacist who views humans as evil. Previously a Serial Killer of human women, Adam was recruited by Salem to assist her in her quest to steal the launch codes, planning to use it to annihilate humanity. Adam has Vice President Sienna Kahn captured and executed before ordering his troops to round up a large number of humans into concentration camps, even having them shoot any faunus who try to stop them. Unleashing Grimm onto the camps, he watches with glee as they massacre every human in sight. Boasting a body count of 1 million humans to the captured Ghira, Adam tries to get the codes out of him by breaking his wife's fingers in front of him and threatening to gouge out one of Blake's eyeballs.
    • Cinder Fall is one of Salem's sadistic generals. Having murdered her parents as a child, Cinder was recruited to serve alongside Salem with the promise of murdering more people. Now an adult, Cinder assists Salem in her plans to launch the nukes and watch as the world burns. As head commander of Salem's army, she has largely-populated cities attacked.
