Liquid Fighters are semi-solid Holographic units created by German scientist Ludwig Von Krugen in 1965 that are controlled by units implanted in the owners’ body. Unfortunately the superior units, known as Liquid Fighters, take a tremendous will and total concentration to manipulate beyond very basic functions. People like this are rare, and the units themselves are expensive, keeping only a select few individuals who can own one. These fighters often never reach near the potential of the units, but on the very rare occasion that it does happen, the controller may attempt to prove his or her worth by competing in the ultimate tournament, the 'Liquid Fighter Gold' competition. Genma finds a second hand one, and manually operates on Ranma to implant the controllers. The unit appears as a small red-headed girl. What effect will this have on the Tendos when they meet them, and how well will Ranma and Ranko do in the tournament?

- Irrational Hatred: Akane to Ranma while some of it is her thinking he was making fun of her by sending Ranko to fight her, a lot of it is her just not realizing that he’s a Chaste Hero.
- Since Kira was able to catch Ryoga before he fell into a spring as well as lead him out of Jusenkyo. Ryoga has even less of a reason to be mad at Ranma.
- Jerkass: Averted while Ranma seems like this when Ranko come to him about her problems, it’s just that he’s always sen her as a person so her coming to him about remembering something is stating the obvious.
- He also does take into account her warning and fears it’s just more a disregard for his own health then hers.
- Also as shown when he argued with her to go to sleep they’re both just very stubborn people.
- For example when Ranko slapped Akane after she kept attacking her. Ranma called her out but only because she had never done anything like that before. After seeing that Akane was fine he gave Akane a What the Hell, Hero? for hurting her.
- Laughing Mad: Akane due to thinking she had fought Ranko and not Ranma in his cursed form.
- Like Brother and Sister: This is what Ranma sees Ranko as
- Made Out to Be a Jerkass: People don’t know that Ranko is self-aware so Ranma gets blamed for a lot of things she does.
- Magitek: Played with Jusenkyo seems to have an effect on Liquid Units weather their masters fall in a spring or not.
- Meatgrinder Surgery: To insert the Liquid Unit into Ranma Genma had to slice his back open and put it in himself.
- Misplaced Retribution: Seeing the huge audience come to see their battle Kuno blamed Ranma then called him a coward when informed that it was Nabiki’s doing.
- Mistaken Identity: During their match Sakura mistook Ranma for Ranko allowing the later to defeat her when her programming wouldn’t allow her to hit the former.

Furikan’s janitors have units for cleaning toilets, mopping floors, and cleaning up garbage. The janitor himself only works as a repairman.
- Never My Fault: Despite knowing that he can’t harm Kodachi’s Liquid Unit Kuno blames it for him breaking his stuff when he tries.
- Oh, Crap!: Nabiki when Ranko told her she was self-aware.

- Kuno rarely has to pay attention to school since he can retrieve the lessons from her memory at his leisure
