So you're an e-fedder are you? (Think in-character roleplaying online with the setting of professional wrestling)? Well wouldn't you know, there's a particular fed found somewhere around the internet, (actually two) that together incorporate an expansive universe of many, many characters by a quite a few roleplayers or in e-fed terms, handlers. This is the Sex & Violence Wrestling, a traditional wrestling e-fed with many big names and then there's Femme Fatale Wrestling... An all female wrestling e-fed also with quite a large number of characters. The idea behind the two feds running simultaneously and sharing in-character connections between each other while clawing to the top of the food chain? Well that's the Hortonverse. Named after in-character commentator in both companies, and out-of-character fedhead Mark Horton.

Compare Role-Playing Game, Fan Work, or some Fusion Dance of the two... Coated in Professional Wrestling.

No out of character examples please! Only in-character tropes.

Tropes associated with The Hortonverse include:

  • All Girls Want Bad Boys: Christian Kincaid, take a bow... Also to a lesser extent, a certain Icon...
  • As the Good Book Says...: Trinity plays this trope straight.
  • Attention Whore: MIIIIISSSSSSSTTTTTEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRR SSSSSHHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWTTTTTTTTIIIIIIIIIIIMMMMEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!! leads the pack followed Robbyn Helmsley, Casey Atherton, Hayley Dark, Shane Sanders, Samara Steele, Eric Sanderson, Ginger Rogers, Christian Kane, Crystal Hilton-Williams-Lopez-califrugistic... ...Okay, it would save time if we had just named everyone who wasn't one... Wendy Briese.
  • The Atoner: Colleen, since her Heel–Face Turn at Unstoppable 3 has been this. Working with kids, staying clean, apologizing to everyone as part of her AA steps. Etc.
  • Batman Gambit: Samantha Star's usually amount to this with successful results.
    • Anders Stark playing Cara Stone like a fiddle, telling her he loved her so she would foolish enough to do so publicly and leave it open for him to humiliate her and brutalize her in front of all the fans who'd been DREAMING of a Stark and Stone romantic pairing for ages. Anders killed that. He killed it hard.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Jodie Gray
  • But Liquor Is Quicker: Jenny Williams and Wolf Ramsey say hello.
  • Butt-Monkey: Ah... Thy name is Lyn Dallins.
  • Chewing the Scenery: This is Professional Wrestling. So there are many examples:
    • "MIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRR SHHHHHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWTTTTTTTTTTTTIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIMMMMMMEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!"
    • Daniel Pollaski and Terrence Thompson when featured in Wendy Briese promos.
    • Christian Kane... Ayla Clone, Dead Hookers, Bon Jovi theme, Shouting for no reason, #STUDLIFE.....
    • Aimee Easter. Rap Battles and actually speaking in rhyme just to be annoying. Because she can. And she's smarter than you.
    • Lightning. White robes. Epic entrance music. Etc.
    • Stark and Stone when they were good guys. I mean...Bouncy Castles.
    • Crystal Hilton is a good example for actual in-ring performance. She's a self-proclaimed Spot Monkey and will do high flying moves just to show off in matches. Well, she used to anyway.
    • Hayley Dark. It helps that she's generally obsessed with the spotlight being on her and gets jealous and upset if her friends get attention in any way (Belladonna, Ignis). Also, parkour.
  • Combat Pragmatist: There are many examples under this trope:
  • The Confidant: Eileen Amaro. Between Ryan Mackenzie telling her about sleeping with Isabella Pazzini behind Stacy's back, Cara telling her about her plot to destroy Anders and Caroline's relationship and various other horrible secrets she's known about Caroline Dallins, Chris Strike, Lyn Dallins, and many others...she fits the bill.
  • Disney Villain Death: Queen Machine.
    • Seriously, remember in the "Lion King" when the hyenas all ganged up on Scar and ate him alive? Well, think that with the hyenas being the Power Trip and Scar being Queen Machine - although instead of eating her, they threw her off the stage.
  • Drives Like Crazy: MMMMIIIIIIIISSSTTTTTTEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR....SHHOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWTTTTTIIIIIIIMMMMMMEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!
  • Ethical Slut: Christian Kincaid, Robbyn Helmsley but YMMV.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: Christian Kane has his sister Marissa, Isabella Pazzini's got Ryan Mackenzie, Gary Gilray has a bunch of people in white masks...need I go on?
  • Everybody Has Lots of Sex: FFW? Check. SVW? Check.
  • Everyone Is Bi: But YMMV. Kind of. Sorta. Not really.
  • Evil Laugh: Kara and Undine, especially when they use acid. I imagine Aimee Easter, Christian Kane, and Gary Gilray.
  • Hard-Drinking Party Girl: Different wrestlers fall in and out of this trope at particular times. Robbyn Helmsley and Samara Steele run this.
  • The Fettered: Wendy Briese.
  • Fiery Redhead: Scarlett Kincaid, Ignis, Valerie Lamb, Starla McCloud, Jo McFarlane, Casey Atherton, and more. Wendy Briese is an inversion.
  • From Nobody to Nightmare: Quite a few people fall into this trope... It's always who you least expect.
    • Rori Mackenzie/Snyder. She owns this trope.
    • Gary Gilray but YMMV.
    • Tara Thunder. From an in ring perspective. Nobody looks at being booked against her as anything but "Oh Shit."
    • Starla McCloud. From good doctor to borderline Complete Monster.
    • Caroline Dallins when she joined the Power Trip after being a geeky rookie on Future Shock. YMMV.
  • Genius Ditz: Nikkii Spainhower...wrestling prodigy but lacking smarts in just about everything else.
  • Gold Digger: Hayley Dark tries, but she does not succeed.
  • Goomba Stomp: Eileen Amaro and Jennifer Williams may likely fight over who gets to use this move someday. We're dead serious.
  • Ham-to-Ham Combat: Jennifer Williams does this on a daily basis on Twitter against common sense.
    • Then again, maybe that's a Williams/Hilton/Lopez trait? YMMV?
  • I Have Many Names: Whether it's last names (Isabella Morgan, Isabella Stryfe, Isabella Pazzini, and soon to be Isabella Mackenzie) or titles... (Camilla Pazzini & Lyn Dallins have a nickname for every season.)
  • It Runs in the Family The Williams Clan, The Mackenzies, The Kincaids, The Dallins, The Thunders, and the Leavenworths and I guess the Belmonts have to mentioned...begrudgingly.
  • Large Ham: Where do we start?
    • Where do we start? WHERE DO WE START? I'll tell you where we start... MIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRR SHOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWTTTTTTTTTTIIIIIIIIIIIMMMMMMMMMMMMMMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!
    • Right. How could I forget? Also included are Nathan Thunder, Christian Kane, The Pazzinis, Pollaski, Eileen Amaro, Mai Hotaru and the list could go on and on.
    • Stephanie Sanderson, Jennifer Williams, Todd Williams, Crystal Hilton-Williams...most of the characters in that social circle really.
  • Love Hurts: So...so many.....
    • Cara Stone's doomed love for Anders Stark.
    • Isabella Pazzini felt this way when Ryan was still married to Stacey.
    • How a lot of people are with Christian Kincaid. Tabatha Belmont, Emma Mac Namara, and Kelly McGuffin have all shown signs that it hurts to have to share him.
    • Kitty and Alexander Stryfe have experienced this trope a lot in their marriage.
    • Colleen and Leander Apollo. Betrayal, lies, pain. It had it all.
    • Camilla Pazzini being widowed by Jake Mackenzie.
    • This trope goes on for days.
  • Mother Russia Makes You Strong: Possibly the explanation for Sabra Nikolayev's skills (although being trained by Gryphon might have helped with that too).
  • Obfuscating Stupidity: It's very possible that The Scarborough Fair are this... They talk like a pair of valley girls and Mickey is especially stupid, yet just in time for important matches or promos the pair are as sharp as tacks at times.
