Invader Zim: Born Again Christian is the third story written by MarissaTheWriter, the author of the ITS MY LIFE! series.
It follows Gloria Deschanel, Zooey Deschanel's kid sister and a Christian, in the world of Invader Zim and Johnny the Homicidal Maniac. As she goes about, Zim is converted to Christianity, Gloria and "Nee" (who is also a Christian) make a couple and Dib finds a group named Teen Ragers, because the Swollen Eyeball Network simply won't help him.
Mere days after being published, it was MSTed by The Half-World, seeing as The Half-World partially contributed in it even happening. The MST has since been lost forever, but Skepkitty intends to republish it someday. There is also a dramatic reading, which begins here

Invader Zim: Born Again Christian provides examples of:
- Age-Gap Romance: Gloria is presumably in high school while Nny is an adult.
- Age Lift: Dib and Gaz, originally preteens in their home series, are now in "hi skool."
- Alternate Continuity: This story takes place in a different continuity from ITS MY LIFE! and TEEN FORTRESS 2.
- Author Tract: Averted; the author claims she's not a Christian in real life.
- Artistic License – Biology: Dib is able to survive having Gloria's "crossifix" stabbed through his neck so hard it comes out the other side, without any ill affects. He just pulls it out and runs away.
- Later it's mentioned that the crossifix had "crit his juggler vane", again without there being any sign that Dib was more than superficially injured by the blow.
- Artistic License – Religion: Discussed by the author in the first chapter.(AN: Im not a cristchain in reel life, im a aneurism, so if I get sum stuff bout them rong dont blame me I DONT WANT ANY MOR FLAMERZ!)
- Bittersweet Ending: Zim and GIR are both dead as well as Professor Membrane and Gaz, but Gloria manages to save the world from Dib, Zim and GIR are now in Heaven after converting to Christianity, and Zooy and Stephen are expecting a baby that they plan to name after Zim.
- Buxom Beauty Standard: Gloria, much like Marrissa, has "big squishy chests" that Zim seems to like.
- Canon Immigrant: PrettyDog200, owner of one of the MSTs of TEEN FORTRESS 2, including her self-insertion as "BERZERK MAN", finally got a role, as the leader of the Teen Ragers.

- Simon Cowell appears to (sort of) reenact a scene from Stephen King's book Everything's Eventual.
- Coitus Uninterruptus: Stephen and Zooy pay no mind to Gloria yelling at them to stop having sex in her house.
- The Almighty Tallest also nonchalantly call Zim right when they're about to have sex.
- Crossover: Of, as described above, Invader Zim and Johnny the Homicidal Maniac, and The Bible itself.
- Ghost Rider at one point shows up at Dib's house to tell him he's the "antithesis".
- Dead Guy Junior: Zooey and Stephen say they will name their unborn child Zim, "in onor of the best Christian ever".
- Department of Redundancy Department: Gloria mentions that she "screemed like screemin screemer that screems wile screemin" during her False Rape Accusation against Dib.
- "I liv by myself becos Zooy is out doin movies so I liv alone."
- Did Not Do the Bloody Research: Much like Wheatley in ITS MY LIFE!, almost all of Stephen Merchant's dialog consists of misused British slang.
- Simon Cowell also talks like this.
- Double Jump: Both Nny and Gloria do this at different points in the fic.
- Drugs Are Bad: The Teen Ragers are frequently shown "smokin drugs and beer" and are Gloria's enemies.
- Enemy Mine: In Chapter 4, Gloria and the Teen Ragers briefly team up to fight Dib after he fails to kill Zooy.
- Face–Heel Turn: Business Man, originally on the side of Marissa in TEEN FORTRESS 2, has made lovers with Skepkitty.
- False Rape Accusation: To get Dib to stop trying to kill Zim in Chapter 1, Gloria shouts that Dib is trying to "molestrape" her, which causes a bunch of people to attack Dib so Zim can get away.
- Freudian Slip: At one point, Zim refers to Gloria as "Marrissa".
- The Fundamentalist: Averted, oddly enough for a Troll Fic. Gloria doesn't mind that her sister is an atheist, and doesn't try to convert anyone other than Zim, who had already expressed interest.
- She does get angry at Stephen and Zooey "gruntin an groanin" in a "Christian house".
- And she's delighted that they are going to name their baby after "the best Christian ever", implying they may have converted.
- She does get angry at Stephen and Zooey "gruntin an groanin" in a "Christian house".
- Good Girls Avoid Abortion: Dib sends a giant monster to kill Gloria, and the monster happens to be pregnant. Because of this Gloria can't kill it because that would "abortion the baby". Nny solves this by doing an "emerjency c-sextion".
- Gorn: Being that this is MarissaTheWriter...[Dib] tared Skep's arm of an made Business Man ate it then toared his leg of an made Skep ate it then he killed them in half. Then the hafs died.

- Heel–Face Turn: Nny has gone from a deranged serial killer to one of "Gods spesal solders that kills bad guys".
- Zim eventually does this.
- Heel–Faith Turn: The entire plot of the story involves Zim pretending to convert to Christianity before converting for real.
- As mentioned earlier, Nny is now one of "Gods spesal solders."
- Heroic Sacrifice: In the penultimate chapter, Zim sacrifices himself by attacking Dib (who has now become the Antichrist) so Gloria and Nny can escape.
- Kinslaying Is a Special Kind of Evil: Dib kills Gaz to prove his loyalty to the Teen Ragers, and then he kills his father for no reason.
- Love Redeems: Zim converts to Christianity for real after out of love for Gloria.
- Love Triangle: Zim is in love with Gloria, who is dating Nny.
- My God, What Have I Done?: Zim in Chapter 6, when he realizes how much he hurt Gloria.
- Mythology Gag: In-universe, the plot of ITS MY LIFE! replaces Portal 2.
- Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: This story was made due to Skepkitty's comment on a fanfic "Zim born again" (being about Zim literally being born again), saying that no one should ever write a fanfic about Zim becoming a born-again Christian.
- Out of Character: Every single Invader Zim character is this to some extent. Special mention goes to Miss Bitters, who only appears very briefly in one chapter where she is shown cheerfully singing songs with a group of little kids.
- Also Nny.
- Really Gets Around: Gaz, who apparently got expelled for "doin the do wif a bunch a guys" in the school bathroom.
- Retirony: Business Man mentions that he's going to marry Skepkitty later that night, just before they're both killed by Dib and then re-made into one "Skepness Man"."Now yur togeter fourever!" Dib lolled with evil an scary.
- The Reveal: Chapter 5 reveals that the Antichrist is Dib, while Chapter 7 reveals that Gloria is the second coming of Jesus.
- Chapter 4 reveals that Zooey's boyfriend is Stephen Merchant.
- Rouge Angles of Satin: All over the place. "House" is consistently rendered as "hose," "atheist" becomes "aneurism," and "Antichrist" is rendered as "antithesis," "antiracist," and "antipode" among others.
- Sexy Discretion Shot: Right before Gloria and Nny are about to do it...(AN: JUST IN CASE YUO PERVS FORGOAT THIS IS A CHRISTAN STORY SO IM DEFIANTLY NOT WRITIN THE NEXT PART JUST MAKE A PRETEND CHAPTER IN YUR HED OR SUMTHIN PERVS!11)
- Shout-Out: Stephen being like 'A SIBARRIAN TIGER' during sex may be a reference to a certain other fanfic known for its tiger sex metaphors.
- Spaghetti Kiss: Almost happens to Gloria and Nny during their date at Red Lobster (with mozzarella sticks) before Simon Cowell interrupts them.
- Teens Are Monsters: The Teen Ragers bully and try to kill Gloria, try to rob a convenience store, and do lots of drugs in their spare time.

- Virgin Power: Subverted; Gloria actually has to lose her virginity so Dib can't use her for a virgin sacrifice.
- Virgin Sacrifice: Dib tries to use Gloria as one to complete the rapture. It doesn't work.
- Ye Olde Butcherede Englishe: Ghost Rider's manner of speech.
