    Male Students

Sidney Uwe Knox

SHSL Rumormonger

Played by Vin

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/why_must_i_save_this_young_man.png
In recent months, several incidents to do with rumors spreading have begun to pop up across Japan. At first, they were minor things such as “Ghost Woman sighted in Train Station”, and “CEO of Large Company has twelve escorts, 5 male”, which only tabloid and occult newspapers covered. However, they soon began to grow in number, as did the people who believed in them. Soon enough, news broadcasts began to occur, blogs opened up, groups formed, demonstrations took place, the like.

Eventually, though, as the country was rampant with rumours, a boy appeared on the news. Smiling, he addressed everyone. “Sorry for tricking you guys!” That boy, named to be Sidney Uwe Knox, was giving an official apology and debunking every rumor he had spread, which was an incredibly long list. Soon enough, message boards popped up, with users and profiles claiming to be him, though they all held a nonsensical atmosphere, labelling him as “Dark Lord”, “Hero of the Earth”, etc. Within the week, he was also announced as a new student at Hope’s Peak: The SHSL Rumormonger.

Disappears between chapters 2 and 3. Later revealed to have been the mastermind of the original plot of the rp before suddenly quitting out of character.

  • Arson, Murder, and Jaywalking: During an argument about Sid's item, a Junkuma, during the second trial.
Sid: Else, why wouldn't they take my camera!? Or my notebooks...!? Or the cookies from my mom!?
  • Putona Bus: Vanishes after chapter 2, and is replaced by Nathan Quill.
  • Tempting Fate: Tells Solo during the second trial that he intends to make himself a target in order to protect Lili and Sachi.
  • The Ace: Lead majority of the first trial.
    • Though this was mostly in part due to the person roleplaying Sid secretly being the head mod of the entire roleplay, giving their character all the relevant case information while leaving all other players with info not pertinent to finding the killer.
  • The Nicknamer: Has some kind of contrived nickname for everyone. Everyone.

Peter Ward "The Phantom Knight"

SHSL Hitman

Played by Skittle

Not much is known about this mysterious “Phantom Knight”. His identity is a closely guarded secret, most only know of him through his alias, aptly given as he is a quiet assassin, killing countless people without ever being seen. His only known sighting was a picture of him taken during a mission. Most speculate this picture was taken intentionally in the first place.

His range of operations is large, spanning from Paris to Chicago and even a military base in Pretoria. He’s infamous for his use of medieval weaponry is killing his targets, ranging from maces, to flails and even swords. However, he does and has been known to use firearms when the time calls for it. Hope’s Peak managed to get ahold of him after filing a mission to kill an Ultimate Student. The Phantom Knight tracked the client, hoping to kill them for commissioning him to kill a minor. However, he was successfully restrained and notified of his Hope’s Peak scholarship.

He is the first victim of trial 2, crushed to death via heavy weights by Hikaru Tsuzuki.

  • Armor Is Useless: Averted somewhat as he becomes a murder victim after his armor is taken away by the bears as a motive.
  • Butt-Monkey: Does not seem to be liked by many people. Justified, considering he is a known murderer in the middle of a killing game.
  • Hitman with a Heart: That's his character. Though many members of the cast disagreed due to his brutal methods of killing, questionable victims, and general behavior.
  • Only Known by Their Nickname: No one really knows his name, but he claims to go by Peter Ward, and even then, there's the possibility of it being merely a fake name. Turns out it actually was his name, to no one's surprise.
  • The Big Guy: Tallest member of his class at 6'10".

He can translate near instantly between Swedish, Japanese, and English (one at a time, of course) as it was spoken, but when other interpreters had to call in sick in previous days, he almost everytime could pick up the slack and do their job almost as well as if they had been there with few slips.

Serafin gained recognition when he successfully managed to cover up a Minister’s slip of tongue and correctly translated it to the original meaning, saving their country much embarrassment. It was this impressive feat that got him noticed by Hope’s Peak, landing him an invitation as the SHSL Interpreter.

The blackened of the first trial, killing Mizuki Anzuki, and was punished by an explosion.

  • Memetic Mutation: "Vote Marina."
  • Omniglot: Speaks at least three languages fluently.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tobuetvt.png

A childlike, strange and aloof musician, Tobue picked up the hobby of playing the cello on a suggestion from an employee at the orphanage where he lived, and he easily was able to excel as it, as if he was born to play the instrument.

Hailed as the next musical prodigy, Tobue quickly gained fame, and with it, more and more invitations to shows. Notorious for never performing without his panda plushie he quickly gained the moniker, the “Plushie Prodigy”.

Soon, rumors that his amazing musical talent came from his panda soon began to spread, and multiple attempts to steal the plushie during Tobue’s shows were foiled by Tobue himself, who would stop playing and wrestle the thief until security came and apprehended him. Without missing a beat, Tobue would go back to playing his cello almost immediately.

One particular show, Tobue dedicated his song to his plushie, “Taku”, and performed a heart wrenching piece, which drew the attention of not only musical critics, but the general public. Boasting a 100 percent satisfactory customer rate, the young barber gained both fame and notoriety quickly.

Often called the “Brute Barber”, due to Harri’s abrasive attitude and his tendencies to get into fights, Harri’s little barber shop gained recognition when a famous actor went to his shop and got “the haircut that changed my life”, his exact words on Japan’s biggest morning talk show. Soon, Harri’s little barbershop had snaking long queues, despite the seedy location, customers were not afraid as Harri guaranteed if any of them were hurt, he would personally “take care of matters” so to speak.

Soon, Hope’s Peak sent the young barber an invitation to their school as the SHSL Barber, and Harri readily accepted, itching to get to know, and fight, people in the prestigious academy.

  • An Offer You Can't Refuse: When the motive for chapter two everyone lost their item but Harri, who ended up with his prized scissors back. However, the catch was he loses them if a killing happens. Solo Suzuki

SHSL Magician

Played By Duodude 55

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/neutralhappy_8.png
Solo is a talented stage magician whose popularity has skyrocketed over the past few years. Despite the niche popularity of stage magic in Japan, Solo draws large crowds wherever he performs. He first started practicing magic while still in elementary school, teaching himself and improvising his own twists on many old tricks.

He claims that his first professional performance was a disaster, performing for only a dozen people, but it was his act that drew people to the venue, turning a run-down nightclub into the center of the city’s night life, which led to his discovery. Solo has since performed in front of huge crowds, numbering in the thousands, thanks to his ability to draw attention with his card tricks, illusions, and his daring escapes. While in Japan, he has won many major magic competitions, including the fabled King of Cards tournament, beating out many of the top magicians in Japan and even some notable international performers.

At the end of his most recent tour, Solo had two announcements to make: firstly, he had been invited to attend Hope’s Peak Academy, and secondly, he would be canceling his first planned tour of the US and taking a temporary hiatus, in order to attend the prestigious school, leaving his fans heartbroken. Despite this, he promised that he would be coming back as soon as he was ready, and that he planned to work hard as the school’s SHSL Magician and put together the biggest performance the world had ever seen.

  • Big Little Brother: Tells Tobue he considers him to be like a little brother, despite the fact that Tobue is a year older.

  • Escape Artist: His favorite type of act to perform.
  • Honesty Is the Best Policy: Solo dislikes liars and cheaters to the point that it's mentioned as his biggest dislike on his report card.
  • Messy Hair: No matter what he does, he can't control his bedhead. He says he's stopped trying by this point.
  • Pick a Card: Pretty much what he's limited to while trapped here, a fact which he laments.
  • Precision F-Strike: After finding out he has to use his real name as a password for a puzzle in the math classroom, which is quite surprising to the people he's with.
  • Ship Tease: With Alicia, and later Marina.
  • Smarter Than You Look: According to Marina and Ms. Holly.
  • Stage Magician: His SHSL talent.
  • Stage Names: An obvious one. He doesn't mind people knowing that it is one or even the story behind it, but refuses to share his real name. Doesn't take it well when his birth name is a password for a puzzle in the math classroom.
  • The Nicknamer: Has a habit of adding his own endings to his classmate's names (e.g. Tobue -> Tobuchin, Nezumi -> Nezumin). Even calls Kaiba "Gramps".
  • Wall of Text: Has a tendency to ramble when he gets nervous. He gets nervous a lot.
  • Wire Dilemma: Stumbles upon one of these set up by Kurokuma. It's fake.

With constant visits to the doctor, at the age of 9, she had been admitted to her first study with a team in Tokyo dedicated on researching the human mind and the nature of human's dreams.

Nezumi Kuromaru

SHSL Theme Park Actress

Played by lappy-486

Most well known for her portrayal of the devious Maleficent, Nezumi Kuromaru can be found slipping into the role of face characters all across the Tokyo Disney theme park. A self professed Disney fanatic, her detailed knowledge of even the most obscure character in it’s animated canon ensures that her portrayals are enough to make child and parent alike think that beloved heroes and villains have popped directly off the silver screen. A common joke is that one of the main attractions at the park is the queue to get into one of Nezumi’s shows.

Outside of costume, Nezumi runs a very popular family friendly blog posting about her experiences working in the park along with other Disney related entries, directly leading to both increased tourism numbers for Tokyo Disney and an invitation to Hope’s Peak Academy for the dream-filled teen.

  • Valley Girl: Or at least talks like one.

Mizuki Anzuki

SH Sl Marine Biologist

Played by sica_sica

Mention anything related to do with the sea and the first name that pops into your mind is probably Anzuki Aquatics, the leading laboratory on anything and everything to do with marine biology. At the helm of their research and development department is the youngest daughter of the Anzuki family, Mizuki. Mizuki made her claim to fame after she discovered a groundbreaking property in bioluminescent deep sea fish, which allowed her company to mass produce an energy-less torchlight, drawing on the natural properties that these deep sea fish use to light even the darkest depths of the sea.

Touted as the “eccentric one” of the family, Mizuki was quickly barred from conducting any interviews or appearing on television after she thoroughly embarrassed her family during an interview about marine life. Footage was quickly erased, but videos of Mizuki throwing water balloons at the host and talking to her pet goldfish, who she fondly called “Mr Tinyfin”, instead of the interviewer, quickly circulated around the net. Despite her irrational behaviour, her expert opinion of anything and everything marine related, coupled with her groundbreaking discovery soon netted her an invitation to Hope’s Peak as the SHSL Marine Biologist.

She is the victim of trial 1, killed by a head blow with an iron by Serafin Edvardsson.

Sachiko Maeda

SHSL Anthropologist

Played by _Dreams_

Sachiko had a pretty generic upbringing. Not much really happened. Sadly, that is the exact opposite of what she wanted. For as long as she could remember, all she wanted was something amazing to happen to her, so she could become a hero and save people. Of course, the spider bite to make her Spidergirl, or anything like that never happened. Instead, she was had to accept that fact that she was limited to her frail body. But she couldn’t accept that!

All around the world people were harming, and hurting each other for silly things! She needed to put an end to it! It was at that time, she came across a quote in a book at school, “The purpose of anthropology is to make the world safe for human differences. “ Upon reading that, she finally realized what she needed to do to save people from themselves. From that point forward, she began engrossed with the world of Anthropology.

Of course, such a young girl being so enthralled with such a subject was a shock, and as she continued to learn and progress, Hope’s Peak Academy took notice, inviting her as the SHSL Anthropologist.

Aspin Aspirin (Amelia Kingston)

SHSL Knife Juggler (SHSL Thief)

Played by Dplaya 11

Aspin Aspirin is a well renowned knife juggler, starting as a small child who enjoyed collecting knives. Despite her parent’s protests, Aspin continued her knife collecting, and soon began playing with the knives themselves. It eventually culminated in her getting apprehended for playing with knives while in school, which several parents were greatly alarmed about and complained to the school.

Soon, Aspin decided to go further and developed a skill in juggling knives, and started performing in her local park, which caught the attention of a circus ringmaster, who asked her to join his troop. Eyes wide at the prospects of travelling across the country, she begged her parents to let her go.

After countless attempts at convincing her to reconsider, eventually her parents gave in, and Aspin began touring as part of a troop, juggling across England. She became famous, and went on an overseas tour to Japan, and was there noticed by talent scouts, who eventually got an invitation to Hope’s Peak Academy as the SHSL Knife Juggler.

  • Butt-Monkey: Well, out-of-character, anyway.
  • Awesome Mc Cool Name: She seems to think so. No one else does. Fair, since she presumably made it up herself.
  • Off-Screen Breakup: With Tek.
  • Ship Tease: With Tek. It succeeded for a bit.
  • Stage Names: Sid seems to think so. It is, sort of. It's an assumed name meant to cover her true identity as the SHSL Thief, rather than a stage name meant for performances.

Hikaru Tsuzuki

SHSL Biomedical Engineer

Played by Quickdrawnmoron

Coming from Chiba, Japan a young second generation engineer began to gather attention. With her father to guide her, Tsuzuki Hikaru took the biomedical field by storm. Specializing in implantation and bionics, the creation of false limbs, she was able to give people a second chance at feeling. Her sensory artificial limbs allowed people to feel the ground beneath their feet or feel the touch of a loved one with their hands again.

They are not perfect body parts but they are a leap forward for the field. Allowing for more nerves to be felt than they have before from existing artificial limbs. This had led her to be sought after by doctors and amputees alike. Her ground breaking inventions into the field of biomedical engineering drew the attention of Hope’s Peak, and she was admitted as the SHSL Biomedical Engineer.

She is the blackened of Peter's murder and second victim of trial 2, falling to her death at the climax of Peter's trial. However, her true cause of death was a slow-acting poison in her body, administered by Mr. Kotoshi.

  • An Arm and a Leg: Loses her left arm as punishment for breaking Monokuma's rules during the first trial.
  • Artificial Limbs: Creating these is her talent. Creates one for herself after losing an arm as a minor punishment and uses it in the murder of Peter.
  • Disproportionate Retribution: Break a single rule, lose your limb. Then again, this is Monokuma.
  • Ship Tease: With Nezumi. Serves as an alibi during the second trial. It doesn't work.
  • Tampering with Food and Drink: Falls victim to this, causing a delayed death during the second trial: Mr. Kotoshi poisoned the coffee she drank during the morning class.

Alicia Reyberry

SHSL Interpretative Dancer

Played by onionorio

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ka2bznf.png
Alicia is a famous performer known for her stoic and cold appearance, yet expressive and almost enlightening dances. Dancing from hundreds to thousands; from her home to the other side of the world; for money or free, she never fails to amazing and awe those who take in her movements.

Although not much is really known about her due to her unwillingness to become close to people, it is recorded that she comes from a family of four. Her younger sister and mother still reside somewhat close to their hometown, however her father died due to a successful suicide attempt committed years prior.

  • Character Tic: Alicia has a tendency to let out heavy breaths. It makes it seem as though she's sighing, or even huffing.
  • Out-Of-Character Moment: Especially so during chapter 3, when Nathan arrives. Despite having a aversion to relationships in generally, she warms up to Nathan very quickly, and responds positively to his flirting, despite having never done so prior. Lampshaded by Marina during a conversation with Solo, who notes Alicia's aloofness previously.
Marina: Alicia is only...what's the word...amicable with us, even as a team, but Nathan...what makes him so special?

Mr. Kotoshi

Former SHSL Psychologist

Played by Renigma Ryuugu

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mrkotoshi.png
The Former SHSL Psychologist

Mr. Kotoshi (yes, Mr. Kotoshi and not Kotoshi-sensei! That’s not a localisation thing, surprisingly!) as he likes to be called, is a former Hope’s Peak Academy student and current Hopes Peak Academy teacher of Psychology. As a child, Kotoshi Edogami was featured frequently in tabloid magazines as a child psychic, for his astounding ability to read people. Originally entered into Hopes Peak as the SHSL Mind Reader, at age 15, he was discovered to not have mind reading powers but an inherent knack for psychology and a strong understanding of basic psychological arts/techniques/science. As such, he was given the more accurate title SHSL Psychologist.

After graduating from Hope’s Peak, Kotoshi studied at Kyoto University with a doctorate in Psychology and Education. After which, he seemed to drop off the map for a while, before resurfacing to teach in a few rougher schools. The more troubled of the students in these schools reported a higher level of well-being and general happiness after being taught by Mr. Kotoshi. Whereas, other students found him more of a nuisance and claimed his teaching style was a waste.

In any case, from there, Mr. Kotoshi was appointed as a psychology teacher at Hope’s Peak Academy.

He is the second blackened of trial 2, by poisoning Hikaru.

One of the greatest minds to bless the earth in history, Seraphina Holly has been recorded to have an absurdly high IQ above 150, possibly surpassing 170. Her creative mind combined with her intelligence has led to her making a huge breakthrough in the field of robotics and engineering, creating the first levitating device by aligning it with the magnetic field of earth. This earned her recognition to be entered in Hope’s Peak eventually.

Seraphina also created the modern day swiss army knife, which is powered electronically and much safer for use, even for children. Her other projects are incorporated into various machines to make them run faster and far more efficiently. Post graduation, Seraphina disappeared from the radar for unknown reasons, but within a short period she emerged with her greatest invention conceived, the power to harness magma as a source of geothermal energy safely. It is rumored that Seraphina was also behind the invention of the popular hoverboard, as the patent for its creation is unknown and it uses her technology.

Also painfully short, much to her chagrin.
