  • The Friend Nobody Likes: Kumo has a rather strained relationship with many other villages, and also cases of It's Personal with the Hyūga and the Uzumaki-clans.
  • Great Escape: The first chunin-exam in Kumo consists the Genin having to break out of individual prison cells.
  • Solid Clouds: The Raiun Fields, where the second Chunin-exams take place.
  • Teethclenched Teamwork: A lot of Konoha-nin (including Masakado and the entire Hyūga-clan) hate the fact that they have to ally themselves with Kumo.

Leadership

  • Assassin Outclassin': He holds of Fū and Torune long enogh for the Konoha-delegation to intervene. Danzō actually planned for him to survive, planning it as a False Flag Operation.
  • Hit Me, Dammit!: To Hinata, after he gets hit with her That Little Girl Was Me.
  • Inconsistent Spelling: Due to the author using the romanji spelling rather than the fully romanized spelling, his name is written as "Ē" instead of "A".
  • I Did What I Had to Do: When confronted with his action in the Hyūga-affair, he remains in his position that it was right for Kumo, although he acknowledges how morally wrong it was.
  • Surprisingly Realistic Outcome: While he does believe Jiraya's word that ROOT is a Renegade Splinter Faction on its own, he still is doubtful Konoha, not due to hidden intentions, but due to perceived incompetence.
