The Name Hunt Station

Kaiser and the Ten Bosses

    Kaiser

    Lo Po Bia Alphine

Lo Po Bia Alphine

Tower Position: Scout, Anima

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/alphine.jpg
Even now I wonder why I didn't stop her at that time. If I had just stopped them from meeting, none of this would have happened.

A D-rank Regular, and one of Kaiser's Ten Bosses. Alphine was an attendant of the Lo Po Bia Family that was assigned to look after Kaiser when she was showing potential to be picked as a Princess of Jahad. After becoming a Regular, Alphine climbed the Tower, and made it up to Name Hunt Station to continue looking after Kaiser.

  • The Beastmaster: Controls a giant shadow fox that fights against her enemies.
  • Curtains Match the Window: Yellow hair with yellow eyes.
  • The Dragon: Given their history, Alphine serves as Kaiser's Number Two.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Takes over as the new leader for Name Hunt Station to make the current system better after Bam succeeded in freeing Elaine from her debt.
  • In-Series Nickname: Known as the "Shadow Girl".
  • Ms. Exposition: She explains Kaiser's backstory to Bam and company.
  • My Greatest Failure: Alphine regrets not stopping Kaiser from hanging out with the boy she fell in love with many years ago as it led to Kaiser getting trapped at the Name Hunt Station.
  • Undying Loyalty: To Kaiser / Elaine. Alphine went so far as to try to commit suicide rather than tell Bam's group how to reach Kaiser's chamber.

    Arie Inieta

Arie Inieta

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arieinieta.jpg
No one who says they enjoy fighting is ever dignified before death. I enjoy seeing them struggle and beg for their lives.

A D-rank Regular from the great Arie Family, and one of Kaiser's Ten Bosses. Compared to the other bosses, Inieta's strength is the only one of the bunch that Kaiser truly respects, and is considered the strongest of them.

  • Ambiguously Brown: Which is particularly notable because the other members of the Arie family we have seen, namely Hoaqin, are incredibly pale. He's revealed to not be from the main Arie line but instead may be an illegitimate child as he commented to Kaiser that the Arie family doesn't acknowledge "mongrels" like himself.
  • Bastard Angst: As an illegitimate son of the Arie family, the arrogance of direct line members of the Ten Great Families is his Berserk Button.
  • Blood Knight: Really, really, really enjoyed fighting Rak and, to a much lesser extent, Ehwa and Danhwa. To the point of wanting to keep at least Rak as a pet/companion. Is also willing to try being a Rules Lawyer to find other good fights, despite Kaiser's rather heavy hints not to get involved. He then very noticeably enjoyed his final battle with Khun Ran, expressing a wish to fight until he dies.
  • Character Death: Killed by Ran after a really gruesome duel.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: While it took a bit longer to defeat Rak, he defeats Ehwa and Danhwa pretty quickly. In his backstory, he was on the receiving end from Kaiser as he calls her a "cheater".
  • Curtains Match the Window: Like the rest of the Arie Family, Inieta has silver hair and silver eyes.
  • Fight Unscene: After Inieta gets punched by Rak in his full, large form, the scene immediately cuts to an out-of-breath Inieta with Rak defeated.
  • In-Series Nickname: Known as the "Genius Swordsman".
  • Master Swordsman: He's got some Arie blood in him, so this is a given. However, since he's not from the main family line, he can't use any special techniques in particular.
  • Pintsized Powerhouse: A similar height to Khun Ran, who he fights later on, and arguably the stronger of the two. Had it not been for the timely intervention of Sia Sia (on two counts), Inieta would have killed Ran in their duel.

    Yukan

Yukan

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/yukan.jpg
Bring me that Jue Viole Grace kid right now!! I'm going to capture him and prove that I'm better than Inieta!!

A D-rank Regular, and one of Kaiser's Ten Bosses. Yukan is greeted by Bam at the Name Hunt Station festival. The latter of which doesn't appreciate seeing the station Boss stepping on others during his search for Viole.

  • Amazing Technicolor Population: Gray-skinned. Yukan also has an odd red-colored skin design that only leaves his head, feet, and hands the mentioned gray color.
  • The Big Guy: The biggest of Kaiser's Ten Bosses.
  • Character Death: Alphine's shadow fox eats him.
  • Cool Helmet: Wears a giant gray helmet over his face.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Bam beats him after destroying all his toxic tubes in one shot with his Bangs, but what also really shocked him was having his retaliatory toxic sludge AOE attack totally blocked by Aguero — with nonchalant ease. Bam then easily takes his name after the ten-second countdown to make Yukan a servant to Team Bam.
  • In-Series Nickname: Known as the "Toxic Waste Human". And, yup: take a wild guess what his attacks can use...
  • Kick the Dog: Stands on top of a couple of No-name Regulars, and orders them to tell him where Viole is.
  • Poisonous Person: Eats the toxic waste around the Name Hunt Station, and turns it into a yellow liquid poison that he shoots out from multiple gray tubes that are connected to his back.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: His eyes turn red when he's enraged.
  • The Resenter: To Inieta, who he despises for being Kaiser’s favored subordinate.
  • We Hardly Knew Ye: He was later mercilessly killed by Alphine's Shadow Fox.

    Lulu

Lulu

Tower Position: Light Bearer

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lulutog.jpg
It's been a while since something this interesting has happened. The bids are really going to go up since they have such pricey Names!

A D-rank Regular of an underwater Da-an tribe, and one of Kaiser's Ten Bosses. During Bam's rescue operation, Lulu was stationed at the hostage container.

  • Ambiguous Gender: A member of the Da-an race, which is hard to tell the gender of.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Stands alongside Alphine as the two of them begin their work to make the station better after Kaiser's defeat.
  • Making a Splash: Lulu's means of fighting is turning water into oxygen, and vice-versa, which was key to allowing themto easily hide away from Team Shibisu's station boss hunt. When it comes to battle, Lulu can fire bubbles that will suffocate enemies if they come in contact with them.
  • Mission Control: A lighthouse user.
  • This Cannot Be!: Connected to Villainous Breakdown, Lulu goes through this multiple times.
    • Unable to believe that Hwaryun's rescue team was able to find their location, Lulu first believed that someone amongst the bosses, like Yukan, must have betrayed them revealing the location of the hostage container location to the enemy. In the end, Hwaryun just simply knew the right path given her guide abilities.
    • Lulu is then left stunned in disbelief that Hwaryun had already obtained Variel's seal key to open up the indestructible hostage container that was made by Workshop.
  • Villainous Breakdown: Lulu goes through one crazy meltdown after Hwaryun's rescue team makes it to the location of the hostage container.

    Variel Vani

Variel Vani

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/varieltog.jpg
The seal is complete. Now no one but me can get in.

A D-rank Regular, and one of Kaiser's Ten Bosses. Variel remained in hiding thanks to his ability, which is to place seals upon certain objects to keep them locked. His role during Bam's rescue operation was to place a locking seal on the hostage container.

  • Alliterative Name: Variel Vani.
  • Fight Unscene: His defeat to Hwaryun's rescue team was never seen.
  • In-Series Nickname: Known as the "Key Man".
  • The Leader: He leads his own group of Regulars all wearing hoods making it look as if Variel is the leader of some cult.
  • Open and Shut: Creates seals that require a key to keep areas, such as the hostage container, and his hiding room, locked.
  • Satellite Character: Variel existed purely to remind readers how great Hwaryun is as a Tower guide.
  • We Hardly Knew Ye: Gets disposed of quite easily by Hwaryun's rescue team during the rescue operation. The fact the fight isn't even seen implies that it was an incredibly quick battle.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: What happens to Variel after he and his minions are defeated by Hwaryun's rescue team remains up in the air.

    Hesse

Hesse

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hesse.jpg
Hehe...try as hard as you want. See? You can't even make a scratch on my body of dirt.

A D-rank Regular, and one of Kaiser's Ten Bosses. Hesse fights against Ran when Team Nobic arrive at Name Hunt Station in an attempt to obtain a name from a member of one of the Ten Great Families.

    Marte

Marte

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/marte.jpg
Surrounding yourself with all of these idiots doesn't help....Does this make you happy? Cleaning up messes for those with real power while peasants treat you like a Queen?
Endorsi

A D-rank Regular, and one of Kaiser's Ten Bosses. Marte and her followers battled with Endorsi, who's trying to find all the station's bosses.

Minor Name Hunt Station Regulars

    Chigrinsky

Chigrinsky

Tower Position: Light Bearer

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hessenoname.jpg
In this place, you can steal a person's Name. Those who lose their Name cannot use it until they reclaim it, and those who steal Names can take away everything their victims have. Those whose Names have been stolen become "Unnamed" and must stay on the Name Hunt Station forever.

Chigrinsky lost his name to Hesse and, as a result, has had to serve under him at the Name Hunt Station. Following Hesse's defeat at the hands of Ran, control over his name was transferred over to Khun Ran.

    Red Gramon

Red Gramon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/redgramon.jpg
Regulars whose Names have been sold may leave this place. but they must live forever as the property of the Ranker who bought their Name. This is another one of the Station's rules.

A Regular of Name Hunt Station who joined up with Bam's group after hearing that he's come as Viole to free the station from Kaiser's control. Gramon stands alongside Bam and Khun as the three of them enter Kaiser's Name Hunt Station festival.

  • Amazing Technicolor Population: He's a Gray-skinned humanoid.
  • Color Motif: If it wasn't for his red horns, and the red neck chain, he'd basically be in all gray.
  • Eyes Always Shut: He very rarely opens his eyes.
  • Horned Humanoid: Has two giant red horns on his head.
  • Mr. Exposition: The moment he pops up in the second half of the Name Hunt Station arc, Gramon fills this role for Bam and company, such as explaining to Bam's group (and to the readers) how the Name Hunt Station festival and its auction works.
  • Paper-Thin Disguise: Quite literally wears a white bag over his head to disguise himself during the festival.
  • Revenge: Like many of the station Regulars, he's out for revenge against Kaiser for how poorly he's been treated on Name Hunt Station, which he joins in with Bam's group to end her reign.
  • Shout-Out: His name is based on a Digimon.

    Gramon's Partner

Gramon's Partner

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nonameredhead_0.jpg
We'll help you with anything as long as you can defeat Kaiser!

A Regular of Name Hunt Station who joined up with Bam's group alongside Gramon. She leads Ran, Dan, and Sia Sia from Bam's group through the maze entrance of the Name Hunt Station festival in order to locate their three companions that Inieta captured.

  • Curtains Match the Window: Light-red hair with light-red eyes.
  • Lady Looks Like a Dude: If it wasn't for the fact that her chest is developed, it would be extremely easy to confuse this Regular for a dude.
  • My Greatest Failure: She regrets not being able to save her companions the first time her team broke into the festival from being sold off by Kaiser and the Ten Bosses.
  • No Name Given: Was never given a name. Given that it's Name Hunt Station, it's possible that she's a "No-name" who had her name stolen.
  • Revenge: Like many of the station Regulars, she's out for revenge against Kaiser for how poorly she's been treated on Name Hunt Station, which she joins in with Bam's group to end her reign.
  • This Is Unforgivable!: She hates Kaiser and the Name Hunt Station for forcing her companions to be auctioned into families that they wanted no part of.

    J.M.

J.M.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/jmtog.jpg
Once it turns into steel, my body itself—becomes a powerful weapon!!

The older brother of station Boss Hesse. J.M. appeared during the rescue operation in an attempt to stop Hwaryun's rescue team from reaching the location of the hostage container.

  • In-Series Nickname: Known as the "Steel Human".
  • Big Brother Instinct: Didn't take kindly to Ran killing his younger brother.
  • Chrome Champion: J.M's Steel Human form.
  • Cool Mask: Wears a metal mask.
  • Mighty Glacier: J.M's ability is to cover himself in steel to make himself a powerful weapon.
  • One-Shot Character: Was around for one chapter. Some go so far as to say that his appearance came off as Filler.
  • Revenge: He fights against Hwaryun's rescue team to get revenge for the death of his brother.
  • Satellite Character: He existed primarily to give Nobic a moment to shine during the Name Hunt Station chapters.
  • Scary Teeth: Like his brother, J.M's got the spiked teeth thing going on.
  • We Hardly Knew Ye: Introduced and defeated within one chapter.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: After Nobic defeats him, J.M. is left behind completely defeated, but readers couldn't tell if he died or not. Given the steam rising into the air, it's implied that Nobic may have overkilled him.

    The Station Announcer

The Station Announcer

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/togstationannouncer.jpg

A Regular at Name Hunt Station who's job is to announce the names of newcomers to the station.

  • The Announcer: His job at Name Hunt Station is to announce the names of newcomers who arrive at the station in order to let those living at the station know if there's any names worth stealing. The names of newcomers to the station appear on the announcer's Pocket.
  • Amazing Technicolor Population: He's a Blue-skinned humanoid.
  • Bit Character: He only exists to act as the name announcer at Name Hunt Station.
  • Facial Markings: Has some sort of blue marking down the side of his face.
  • Hostage Situation: When Bam's group arrives at Name Hunt Station by riding in aboard the Hell Train, Anaak takes the announcer hostage in order to force him to announce 25th Bam as his Slayer Candidate name, Jyu Viole Grace. This was done to start up a "No-Name" Regular revolution with Viole as the figurehead against Kaiser and the Ten Bosses.
  • No Name Given: He's never given a name.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: His role as the Name Hunt Station announcer is what starts up Viole's "No-Name" revolution on Name Hunt Station.

    Red-Haired "No-Name"

Red-Haired No-Name

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/togredhairednoname.jpg

A Regular that had his name stolen away at Name Hunt Station, which he's been stuck there as a "No-Name" ever since.

  • Ain't Too Proud to Beg: Approaching Bam, he gets on his knees before Viole, and begs the Slayer Candidate to kill Kaiser for what she did to him. Khun steps in and throws the No-Name off Bam.
  • Curtains Match the Window: Red-hair with red-eyes.
  • No Name Given: He was never given any sort of name. He had lost his name due to the rules of Name Hunt Station, which made him one of the many "No-Names."
  • One-Shot Character: He was only around to show off how the death rule of Name Hunt Station works. He attacks Kaiser against the rules, which the station proceeds to kill him.
  • Revenge: Desires this against Kaiser for trapping him on Name Hunt Station, and having to kill off his friends just to continue surviving at the station.
  • Scars Are Forever: It's assumed that his right eye went blind during his battles at Name Hunt Station. He claims to have lost it to Kaiser.
  • This Is Unforgivable!: Hates Kaiser for how he's been treated on Name Hunt Station.
  • Too Dumb to Live: Revenge gets the better of him as he charges at Kaiser to try to kill her despite the fact that he should know full-well that the Name Hunt Station rules make her untouchable unless certain rules are met. He ends up dying for it.
  • We Hardly Knew Ye: He's killed almost immediately after his introduction due to Name Hunt Station making him disappear for breaking the rules. Kaiser can't be attacked unless she initiates the duel, or one challenges her at her station chamber after acquiring all the names of the station's Ten Bosses.

The Mushroom Farm Station

    Jourdan and Arcu

Jourdan and Arcu

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/togjourdanarcu.jpg

A pair of D-rank Regulars living at the 40th Floor's Mushroom Farm train station. They've been living under the protection of Hockney before the latter decides to board the Hell Train.

  • Ambiguous Situation: It's not made clear which one's Jourdan and which one's Arcu.
  • Bit Character: They only briefly appear in one chapter trying to block Hockney from boarding the Hell Train.
  • Bound and Gagged: Not so much the gagging part, but they both get easily binded up by Hockney's shinsu that he summons from the lantern that's connected to the tip of his fishing pole weapon. The binded Jourdan and Arcu can do nothing as Hockney walks by them and boards the Hell Train.
  • Go Through Me: They attempt to block Hockney from reaching the Hell Train. Hockney ends up defeating them in one move.
  • Please, Don't Leave Me: This is basically what the two of them say to Hockney before the latter attempts to board the Hell Train. Hockney's been protecting a group of Regulars on the Mushroom Farm for a long time, which it came as a shock to them the moment Hockney decides to just leave and board the Hell Train to search for the missing piece of his Red Light painting. Even when the Hell Train departs from the Mushroom Farm, Jourdan, Arcu, and many other Regulars of the station have gathered with signs and such at the boarding platform begging Hockney to come back.
  • Satellite Character: Their only role in the story is to show off what Hockney's capable of. They both get quickly binding up by Hockney in one move.

The Floor of Death

Hell Joe's Faction

    Faction in General
  • Complete Immortality: The immortality spell pretty much does this to everyone on the Floor of Death. However, if you have a strong enough spell breaker or an Irregular's attack, you can bypass it.
  • Defector from Decadence: They were subordinates of Grand De Sah but opposes the Grand Family because of differing opinions on how to get out of their situation.
  • Evil Counterpart: To Wolhaiksong. Both are The Dreaded factions who want to get out from their respective boundaries. Hell Joe in particular shows what happens if Urek Mazino snapped while pursuing his goal.
  • Well-Intentioned Extremist: They want to get out from the Hell Floor and will take every necessary step to do so.

    Hell Joe

Hell Joe

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/helljoetog.jpg
CLICK FOR FUSION APPEARANCE WITH THE RED THRYSSA
I'm going to escape this godforsaken floor. This land of living corpses!

The current ruler of the 43rd Floor of Death's South City. Once a subordinate of the previous ruler, Grand De Sah, Hell Joe led a rebellion to take control of South City after being provided the Red Thryssa from Urek, and then made a deal with FUG to provide the organization the Thorn Fragments in return for Hell Joe finally being allowed to escape the Floor of Death. Over time, Hell Joe managed to locate three of the four fragments, and sent them out of the Floor of Death.

In the present, Hell Joe continues the search for the final Thorn Fragment, but is greeted by the FUG Slayer, Karaka, who informs Hell Joe that there's someone amongst the recent Floor of Death intruders (Bam's group) that can help him finally escape. In order to deal with the intruders, Hell Joe baits his enemies to attack his South City castle by claiming that he's found the last Thorn Fragment.

  • Arc Villain: Built up to be a major one for the Floor of Death Story Arc.
  • Berserk Button: He hates the fact that Karaka provided him with a television that only has the news channel.
  • Black Cloak: Wears a black cloak.
  • Bookworm: Likes to read comic books.
  • The Coup: Led a force against the previous leader, Grand De Sah, to take control of South City.
  • Curtains Match the Window: Gray hair with gray eyes.
  • Deal with the Devil: After failing to become the leader of South City via election, he fell into despair and the Red Thryssa used this opportunity to convince Joe to form a Fusion Dance with him, allowing the Administrator fragment to corrupt his mind.
  • Determinator: Hell Joe is determined to finally escape the Floor of Death.
  • Easily Forgiven: Despite terrorizing the 43rd Floor residents, he gets off pretty lightly and is even offered an out by Urek Mazino. The sympathy he got makes him feel even worse.
  • Evil Mask: When combined with the Red Thryssa, he wears a sinister-looking red mask.
  • Fan Boy: To Endorsi Jahad.
  • Fallen Hero: He was a nice guy who wished to get out of Hell Floor, and had the genuine support of many of the 43rd Floor's residents, but Grand De Sah's opposition along with support wavering due to the possible dissolution of their immortality snapped his mind.
  • From Nobody to Nightmare: Goes from simple Shinsu hole technician to tyrant of Hell Floor's South City.
  • Fusion Dance: He became one with the Red Thryssa, a surviving fragment of the 43rd Floor Guardian.
  • Goal in Life: Hell Joe wishes to finally escape the Floor of Death.
  • Heel Realization: After being stripped of the Red Thryssa's power, he realizes that he had become Drunk with Power and no longer feels he deserves to escape the Floor of Death.
  • Horned Humanoid: Gains two massive red horns on his head when he combines with the Red Thryssa.
  • The Leader: Of the Floor of Death's South City.
  • Names to Run Away from Really Fast: Hell Joe.
  • The Plan: Inspired by an event in one of the comic books he's been reading, Hell Joe comes up with a plan to bait the recent Floor of Death intruders to his South City castle by claiming that he's obtained the final Thorn Fragment, and is about ready to hand it over to FUG.
  • Psychopathic Manchild: His post-powerup behavior primarily consists of him holed up in his castle, munching on junk food, watching TV, and reading comic books. While he was a dreamer once upon a time, his honest intentions to take whoever's willing out of the Floor of Death are instead replaced with a self-centered wish to get out alone.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: His eyes turn red when he fuses with the Red Thryssa.
  • Scarf of Asskicking: Wears a giant red scarf that even glows when he activates his powers.
  • Scars Are Forever: Has a facial scar that goes across the top half of his face.
  • Super Mode: His combined form with the Red Thryssa.
  • The Worf Effect: Was hyped up to be incredibly strong, and would have destroyed an unpossessed Yuri. Later, however, he was completely annihilated in a battle against Urek Mazino (with only a little assistance from Bam).

    Ssong

Ssong

  • Character Death: Bam kills him with a Shinsu Black-hole Sphere.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Was on the receiving end of two from Hell Joe and Bam.

  • In-Series Nickname: Fabregas the Bloody.
  • No Celebrities Were Harmed: The name originates from the real-life soccer player, Cesc Fabregas.

  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: After Yuri reveals that she's capable of killing those that are immortal on the Floor of Death, Fabregas attempts to ditch Hell Joe's castle defense plan. A parasite-type Regular living on the 43rd Floor of Death who helped Hockney originally escape the Floor. Mata seems to support Hockney having a life away from the 43rd Floor, and helps Bam and Hockney travel to the inner portions of the Floor of Death after the two became separated from the rest of Bam's expedition team.

  • No Celebrities Were Harmed: His name is taken from the real-life Soccer player, Juan Mata.
  • Plucky Comic Relief: He provides the comedy amongst the Bam/Hockney/Mata group when they became a 3-man-team on the 43rd Floor.
  • Puppeteer Parasite: What Mata's power is as a parasite Regular. Using a control orb, Mata is able to take control of certain creatures, such as his current giant centipede host he nicknamed Manyleg.
  • Shout-Out: The Manyleg creature that Mata controls strikes a very similar appearance to Yammy Llargo from Bleach.

Ticketers who have entered the station, listen.... Our station will not accept you since you broke the laws of the Tower and illegally seized control of the Hell Train. Vacate immediately.

The Ruler of the Hell Train Last Station. After retiring as a Regular, he constructed the Last Station to provide those who successfully complete the Hell Train with a period of safety and comfort.
  • Career-Ending Injury: He lost his legs as a Regular, ending his climb.
  • Don't Make Me Destroy You: He genuinely doesn't want to harm the Regulars, but will in order to keep the Station safe from the Jahad Empire.
  • Les Collaborateurs: Xiawun is forced to ally with the Jahad Army, despite the Station formerly being neutral to Tower disputes.
  • The Needs of the Many: He is faced with a Sadistic Choice to either hand over the Regulars or have the Station invaded and destroyed.
Stuah Arthur: You must be aware that, in the worst-case scenario, we can just seal off the station and kill you all, right?
  • Utopia Justifies the Means: His primary goal is to provide a paradise for Regulars that complete the Hell Train, however he is forced to sacrifice some to save them all.

Handing over the people on the Hell Train?! This station is supposed to be a haven for Regulars only! Even if they broke the rules, how can you do this?!

A former Regular who chose to quit climbing the Tower and works at the Last Station. The adoptive daughter of Xiawun, who took her in when she had nowhere to go.
  • Calling the Old Man Out: She calls out Xiawun for compromising on his ideals before acting against him in secret.
  • Determinator: Nothing will stop her from trying to keep the Last Station a place of refuge, including the entire Jahad Empire.
  • Happily Adopted: She was taken in by Xiawun in her time of need and loves him even if she disagrees with his decisions.
  • Honor Before Reason: While noble, the fact remains that a group of failed Regulars attempting to hold off the Rankers of the Jahad Army alone was never going to work. If not for Evankhell, Yuri, and the Slayers acting as a collective Spanner in the Works, they all would have been killed.
  • Screw the Rules, I'm Doing What's Right!: Even after Xiawun removes her authority in the Last Station, she does everything she can to aid Bam and co.

Keeping the station peaceful is our top priority! If those Regulars threaten our peace, we'll kill them right now!

Xiawun's adoptive son and Soyong's biological brother. After receiving the Jahad Empire's ultimatum he attempts to help arrest Bam's group.

Don't hesitate. All hesitation leads to is death.

A Regular in the Jahad Army used to infiltrate the Hell Train Last Station (which is closed to Rankers).
  • Brown Note: His ability casts a spell that kills those who answer a question that he asks in short order.
  • Enigmatic Minion: As evidenced by his Question Mark tattoos, Levy is quite mysterious. Most significantly, his motivation in remaining a Regular when all his peers proceeded up the Tower remains unknown.
  • Know When to Fold 'Em: Levy quickly evacuates once he discovers Bam's Dispel Magic capabilities negate his spells. Later in the arc, he calls it quits when fighting Rak, due to the latter's newly discovered Dishing Out Dirt powers making a full-on fight too dangerous.
  • Limited Advancement Opportunities: He and many other members of the Jahad Army choose not to climb the Tower in order to allow the Army access to Regular-Only sections.
  • One to Million to One: One of his abilities, "Hair of an Ancient Saint," allows him to turn into a floating collection of hair strands, float to another location, then reassemble.
  • Power Tattoo: The question mark tattooed on Levy's face seems linked to his Brown Note abilities.
