Suits in Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales

    Sportswear Suit
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/07eefae8_185d_47e0_a8f0_1ae3cb2c9e5a.png
First Appearance: Spider-Man: Miles Morales

Miles' initial costume at the start of Miles Morales. A mishmash of a Spider-Man costume and warm clothes to handle the winter weather. In 2, it's unlocked at Level 10.

  • Beta Outfit: Even more so than the "Great Responsibility" outfit.
  • Call-Back: Miles's casual clothes in this suit are based on his casual clothes from the first game during his stealth missions: the hoodie from "First Day", and the jacket from "Supply Run".
  • Cosmetic Award: Has no suit power.
  • Mythology Gag: Its alternate Suit Styles in 2 instead clad Miles in his Classic Suit. The fourth Suit Style in particular makes the jacket green, making the entire outfit resemble his iconic suit from Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

    Great Responsibility Suit
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/af94a05b_66a1_4fbc_8339_75e38e518655.png
First Appearance: Ultimate Fallout

On Earth-1610, Miles donned a Halloween Spider-Man costume as his very first suit when he started his career as Spider-Man. In Miles Morales, it's designed by Peter to give to Miles before leaving for Symkaria to help Mary Jane report on the civil war there. In 2, it's unlocked at Level 42.

  • Beta Outfit: While it's a step up from his previous streetwear costume, it's clearly not as advanced or complete-looking as Miles' Classic Suit or Peter's Advanced Suit. The gloves are separate from the main body of the costume, the mask isn't as seamless, and the details are more simplified. Peter even refers to it as Miles' first super suit, with the implication that he'll make even better ones on his own.
  • My Suit Is Also Super: Like Peter's costume, the mask is responsible for Miles' HUD, complete with prerecorded messages from Peter instructing him on the basics.
  • Stylistic Suck: It's relatively poor fitting and the individual pieces of the costume don’t zip together like any of Peter’s outfits, looking like a store bought Halloween costume (which is what its Earth-1610 counterpart is). In other words, it looks exactly like how a borderline-broke, freelancing 24-year-old college graduate would make a costume for his protégé without the resources his old (now-defunct) career provided.
  • Whole Costume Reference: It's based on the suit Miles wore in his first appearance in Ultimate Fallout #4.

    Homemade Suit
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/5d13b2d0_c1b7_4f97_a051_1bd505e819d7.png
First Appearance: Spider-Man Annual (2018)

Miles’ first Spider suit of his own, improvised after a Skrull started attacking the mall he was hanging out in with his friends.

In Miles Morales, it's unlocked at Level 11, and in 2, it's unlocked at Level 27.

  • Beta Outfit: While more true to his black-and-red suit than the Sportswear or Great Responsibility suits, the Homemade Suit is still very clearly this.

    T.R.A.C.K. Suit
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/a8823d30_cb75_47fa_a6f2_208f41569b02.png
First Appearance: Spider-Man: Miles Morales

A special white and red costume for Miles. In Miles Morales, it's unlocked at Level 6, or immediately if you pre-ordered the game. In 2, it's unlocked after completing "Surface Tension".

  • Immune to Bullets: Downplayed. The Visor Mod it comes with, "Untrackable", reduces all incoming ranged damage by 25%.
  • Original Generation: A brand new design, similar to the Velocity suit from the previous game.

    Animated Suit
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/a8374c7d_fbac_4eee_a03b_eac2ebf2e8d5.png
First Appearance: Ultimate Spider-Man (2012)

On another Earth, Miles' life proceeded much like on the events of Earth-1610, except his dad died and his mom knew about his superheroics. But after the Peter Parker from Earth-12041 showed up at his door, Miles joins him in chasing Green Goblin throughout multiple realities. And when he got stuck on Peter's Earth, he took on the name Kid Arachnid and fought alongside him until he could return home.

  • All Webbed Up: The Animated Suit comes with the "Stronger Webs" suit mod, which makes it more difficult for crooks to wriggle their way free of Miles' webbing.
  • Art Shift: Similarly to the Vintage Comic Book Suit from the first game and the Into the Spider-Verse suit, the Animated Suit's art style clashes with the rest of the game, making it look like he jumped out of the cartoon TV show.

    Brooklyn Visions Academy Suit
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/993e731a_98dc_438c_ba7d_f233e5b0a23d.png
First Appearance: Spider-Man: Miles Morales

Miles' classic costume worn under his Brooklyn Visions Academy jacket, backpack, and headphones. Its mods are "Trick Master", which gives you more Venom Points for performing mid-air tricks. It is unlocked at level 8.

    Crimson Cowl Suit
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/9c8eefb2_d041_4ee2_81f3_8cad1b66be07.png
First Appearance: Thunderbolts #3

A suit that homages Justine Hammer's Crimson Cowl suit.

In Miles Morales, this suit comes with the mod "Ghost Strike" which makes Web-Strike Takedowns inaudible to other enemies whilst Miles is Camouflaged. It is unlocked at level 9. In 2, it's unlocked at Level 48.

  • In the Hood: The suit has a red, pointed hood built into it.
  • Red Is Heroic: Almost entirely red, and worn by the very heroic Miles.
  • Stealth Expert: Downplayed; the suit comes with a mod that aids in stealth by rendering the quick, but loud Web-Strike Takedowns inaudible to enemies with Camouflage active.

    The End Suit
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/a9245c14_38d2_4e97_935f_b26023ced535.png
First Appearance: Miles Morales: The End #1

The suit worn by Miles Morales of Earth-13153. This Miles was the elderly Mayor of Brooklyn, one of the last strongholds against alien invaders who devastated the Earth, before sacrificing himself to save the city.

In Miles Morales, it comes with the "Steady Focus" mod, which allows Miles to stay camouflaged longer so long as he stands still, and is unlocked at Level 11. In 2, it's unlocked at Level 34.

  • After the End: Earth-13153 is a post-apocalyptic world overrun with gangs of bandits and monstrous germ-creatures. Miles protected Brooklyn as its Mayor.
  • Civvie Spandex: Miles wears the costume's upper half on his body, while he sports camo pants and boots on his lower body, as well as a dark hoodie on his torso.
  • Cool Old Guy: Earth-13153 Miles had become an old man, but he served as the grandfatherly Mayor of Brooklyn and he still retained his powers.
  • In the Hood: Comes with a hooded jacket.
  • Old Superhero: The Miles Morales of Earth-13153 (the original wearer of this suit) is an old man with white hair and a beard, who defended Brooklyn from giant germs and packs of raiders.
  • Stealth Expert: It comes with the "Steady Focus" mod, which allows Miles to stay camouflaged longer so long as he stands still.

    Miles Morales 2099 Suit
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/4e96905e_d93c_4914_a843_8a9c0135a708.png
First Appearance: Miles Morales: Spider-Man (2018) #12

A unique suit designed after the Spider-Man of 2099 with Miles' tastes in mind.

In Miles Morales, its suit mod, "Venom Suppression Resistance", reduces the length of Roxxon Venom Suppression and allows Miles to disable Roxxon bolas by activating his camouflage. It's unlocked at Level 12. In 2, it's unlocked at Level 13.

    Into the Spider-Verse Suit
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/6c6ba84f_d4c8_4016_89ff_84044fede534.png

On Earth-1610B, Miles Morales was trained by other Spider-Men, including Peter B. Parker, to help him in taking over the role as Spider-Man and stop the Kingpin in his mad scheme to reunite himself with his wife and child in another universe despite the dangers to the multiverse he may cause. The costume was gifted to him by his universe's Aunt May, who then spray-painted the costume black and red to make it his own.

In Miles Morales, it's unlocked at Level 13, or immediately if you pre-ordered the game. In 2, it's unlocked at Level 30.

  • Art Shift: Like Peter's Into the Spider-Verse suit, the costume is designed to match the movie's design. Its Vibin' the Verse mod even makes it so that Miles moves at the same frame rate as the film.
  • Cosmetic Award: This suit only comes with the "Vibin' the Verse" mod, which causes Miles' animations to match the frame rate of the Into the Spider-Verse film, but has otherwise no appreciable effect on gameplay. It also means that players who want to wear the suit on its own can do so without eventually getting a headache from the contrasting FPS.

    Classic Suit
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/6bc31c39_2898_4a83_a034_b2ae0719827e.png
First Appearance: Ultimate Comics Spider-Man #5

On Earth-1610, Miles received this costume from Jessica Drew, Ultimate Spider-Woman and Peter Parker's female clone, at the behest of Nick Fury, and got a second version after he destroyed the first in anguish over the death of his mother. Here, the costume is created as a project between Miles and Ganke.

  • Expressive Mask: Like Peter's, the lenses Miles' mask have a camera shutter design that allow them to change shape depending on his emotion, similar to the MCU suits. This can be seen in the cutscenes or if you use selfie mode in Photo Mode.
  • Iconic Outfit: As the name implies, this is the suit that Miles is known for, created in a similar style to Peter's Advanced Suit from the first game.
  • Red and Black and Evil All Over: An inversion. It's primarily black with red webbing outlines, but this is Spider-Man we're talking about, so he's undoubtedly a hero.

    Uptown Pride Suit
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/12c13c7d_20b9_4424_8471_bbc18b1aa94d.png
First Appearance: Spider-Man: Miles Morales

A variation of Miles' classic suit in gold, cobbled together from the people Miles helped with his app. When unlocked, it's found under the large Black Lives Matter mural.

  • Bling of War: It swaps out the red detailing of Miles' costume for gold.
  • Cosmetic Award: Has no suit power.
  • Palette Swap: It's the classic costume with gold instead of red, aside from an additional arm arrow.
  • Small Steps Hero: The suit is a sign of Harlem's gratitude towards Spider-Man taking the time to help them with their problems.

    Winter Suit
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/5e25db46_4e1e_4581_90f3_d533b7e02f0f.png
First Appearance: Spider-Man: Miles Morales

A seasonal variant of the Classic Suit with added winter accessories. Given to Miles by Hailey after saving the Christmas party at C.J. Walker Park from Wilson Fisk's goons.

  • Cosmetic Award: Has no associated mods, being just a set of winter clothes.
  • You Have Researched Breathing: It's Miles' standard red-and-black suit with Hailey's scarf and earmuffs, a red knit cap, and a pair of legwarmers.
  • You Must Be Cold: Hailey signs to Miles that they'll come in handy "in case you get cold while you're swinging", and they do look quite cozy.

    Miles Morales 2020 Suit
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/857adf9d_7337_4336_b6af_e87f1f76c5fc.png
First Appearance: Iron Man 2020

A retro-futuristic costume designed to celebrate the launch of the Iron Man 2020 event.

In Miles Morales, it's obtained after completing the Spider-Training missions, while in 2, it's unlocked at Level 19.

  • Cosmetic Award: Miles gets this suit after completing all of Peter's Spider-Training challenges.
  • Shout-Out: The helmet that replaces the mask is a clear send-up to Daft Punk.

    S.T.R.I.K.E. Suit
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/df7836ea_a0ed_4c3b_b067_2442a530ecab.jpeg
First Appearance: Spider-Man: Miles Morales

An original suit based on Kamen Rider. In Miles Morales, it's unlocked at level 10. It comes with the "Venom Overclock" visor mod, increasing the rate of Venom Power generation as his health drops. In 2, it's unlocked at Level 39.

    Programmable Matter Suit
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/0d095197_0013_4bc2_ab2e_ee2a4f498797.png
First Appearance: Spider-Man: Miles Morales

A suit Miles makes while tinkering with some of the programmable matter he obtained after raiding one of the Underground's safehouses following a tip from Danika Hart. In 2, it's unlocked at Level 37.

  • Cosmetic Award: The suit doesn't come with any mods.
  • Evil Is Angular: Inverted. The suit is extremely angular, much like the programmable matter weapons utilized by the Underground. But in Miles' possession, it becomes a suit he uses to fight for good.
  • Multi-Armed and Dangerous: While wearing this suit, Miles gets a unique finisher animation that materializes spider legs, similar to the Iron Spider suit.
  • Power Glows: The hands and feet of the suit glow a pale red.
  • Suspiciously Similar Substitute: To not only the Iron Spider Suit with its spider legs, but also the final-battle suit in the first game; it was created with the same technology used by the game's main antagonist. The main difference is that it is optional (being a suit obtained after finishing all side bases), rather than being a mandatory story suit, meaning it does not have nearly as much in-story significance.

    Purple Reign Suit
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/c7668728_eaef_4e2f_a431_4b9fa2ce9bcb.png
First Appearance: Spider-Man: Miles Morales

A green-and-purple suit designed by Miles' Uncle Aaron aka the Prowler as a gift.

In Miles Morales, it comes with the "Reclaimer" visor mod, replenishing Miles' gadget ammo whenever he performs a melee takedown. In 2, it's unlocked at Level 21.

  • Absurdly Sharp Claws: The tips of the suit's gloves are very sharp.
  • Purple Is Powerful: Designed with the Prowler's color scheme in mind.
  • Stealth Pun: "Purple Reign".
  • Take Up My Sword: This suit is clearly modeled after the Prowler's own equipment, and Aaron says that he hopes it will keep Miles safe in the recording he left for him.
  • Unorthodox Reload: The "Reclaimer" visor mod replenishes Miles' gadget ammo when he performs a melee takedown.
  • Utility Belt: To mirror the Prowler's costume and Aaron's job in the subway, the suit comes with a utility belt.

    Bodega Cat Suit
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/0e8af7d2_562c_46e1_b8b8_7c55765b1c45.png
First Appearance: Spider-Man: Miles Morales

While shutting down some of the Underground's thugs, Miles rescues a store owners pet cat, named "Spider-Man", and returns him to him. As thanks, the store owner allows Miles to take the cat around on his adventures, donning a Spider-Man hood and being christened "Spider-Cat". The suit returns in 2, unlocked at Level 24.

  • Combination Attack: Though cosmetic, the cat will some times hop out to smack a crook in the head when Miles does a melee takedown.

    Spider-Training Suit
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/646db409_4174_41cb_aa33_4adfba9b8cd5.png
First Appearance: Spider-Man (PS4): The City That Never Sleeps DLC

Miles' first costume soon after he discovered his spider-powers and Peter sought to train him.

  • Beta Outfit: It's taken even further beyond the Starter and "Great Responsibility" costumes, as it's only Miles wearing a second mask identical to Peter's while wearing his civilian outfits.
  • New Game Plus: The only way to obtain the suit is to restart the game in New Game+ mode.

    Advanced Tech Suit
First Appearance: Spider-Man: Miles Morales

An advanced, more technical and armored take on Miles's main suit.

In Miles Morales, it was added in the 1.9 patch, while in 2, it's unlocked at Level 16.

A new suit Miles wears in the sequel that features some minor updates to his classic outfit.

  • Costume Evolution: The new suit adds more red armor running down the length of his arms.
  • Red and Black and Evil All Over: Inverted again. It's primarily black with red webbing outlines, but this is Spider-Man we're talking about, so he's undoubtedly a hero.
  • Expressive Mask: Like Peter's, the lenses Miles' mask have a camera shutter design that allow them to change shape depending on his emotion, similar to the MCU suits.

    Family Business Suit
First Appearance: Marvel's Spider-Man 2

An original suit that serves as a de facto successor to the Uptown Pride suit.

  • Bling of War: Like the Uptown Pride suit, it's a black and gold suit, but the Family Business suit also features golden gauntlets.
  • Tron Lines: The suit has gold circuit patterns continually flash along the seams between the panels.
  • Multi-Armed and Dangerous: Like the Iron Spider and Programmable Matter suits, this one can deploy mechanical spider legs for takedowns.
  • Mythology Gag: The suit’s design is heavily based Aaron Davis’ Iron Spider suit. One Suit Style even gives it the Prowler’s purple and green color scheme.

    Brooklyn 2099 Suit
First Appearance: Marvel's Spider-Man 2

An original suit with a 2099 aesthetic. Unlocked at Level 7.

    Life Story Suit
First Appearance: Spider-Man: Life Story #6

On Earth-19529, Miles wore this suit to stop one last plan of Dr. Doom's alongside Peter Parker. Unlocked at Level 12.

    Shadow-Spider Suit
First Appearance: Champions (2016) #25

The Champions is a team that was formed by Kamala Khan, the fourth Ms. Marvel, comprised of various teenaged superheroes, including Miles, to defend other young people. When Sam Alexander, the young Nova, and Nadia Van Dyne, the Unstoppable Wasp, disappeared through the multiverse, the Champions followed after him, arriving in Weirdworld, where they were changed into fantasy-styled characters. Unlocked at Level 18, or immediately if you pre-ordered the game.

  • Pre-Order Bonus: While unlockable in-game, pre-ordering any version of the game gives instant access to the outfit.

    Forever Suit

A Spider-Man costume meant to visually resemble the Black Panther costume of Earth-199999, first worn by T'Challa. Unlocked at Level 25.

    Into the Spider-Verse SB Suit

A Spider-Man costume purchased by the Miles Morales of Earth-1610B for the funeral of his world's Peter Parker. It was ill-fitting on him, but he was reassured by the kindly store owner that it would fit him one day. Unlocked at Level 33.

  • Beta Outfit: Was Miles' first suit before he was given the black and red one by Aunt May from Earth-1610B.

    10th Anniversary Suit
First Appearance: Miles Morales: Spider-Man (2018) #30

After a disastrous incident involving an Evil Clone of his named Selim, Miles decided he couldn't wear his old costume as it reminded him too much of his clone, designing a wildly different outfit to distance himself from the costume for awhile. Unlocked at Level 36.

    Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D Suit
First Appearance: Miles Morales:The Ultimate Spider-Man#9

A suit based on the cover of Miles Morales: The Ultimate Spider-Man #9 where Miles is wearing a SHIELD uniform. Unlocked at Level 40.

    Across the Spider-Verse Suit

Miles' updated costume for the sequel to Into the Spider-Verse. Unlocked at Level 44.

    Best There Is Suit

This suit belongs to a anti-heroic variant of Miles Morales who was born a mutant with a incredible Healing Factor, retractable claws, and an indestructible skeleton courtesy of the inhumane experiments of the Weapon X program. He's the best there is at what he does. And what he does, isn't very nice... Unlocked at Level 52.

    Dark Ages Suit
First Appearance: Dark Ages

A variant of Miles Morales from a world where electricity had been nullified, simultaneously bonded to the Venom and Carnage symbiotes. Unlocked at Level 56.

  • The Symbiote: The Dark Ages suit has the same organic texture as Peter's Black Suit, and with good reason: it's actually an amalgamation of the Venom and Carnage symbiotes. However, this is purely cosmetic and doesn't grant Miles any symbiote powers.

    Absolute Carnage Suit
First Appearance: Absolute Carnage: Miles Morales

Infected by a piece of the Knull-augmented Carnage symbiote, Miles managed to wrest control from it. Unlocked at Level 60.

  • The Symbiote: The suit is meant to be a piece of the Carnage symbiote that Miles was taken over by after he managed to wrest control from it. It lacks the four extra arms it had in-canon, however. Two of its variants reference Venom and Anti-Venom's color schemes.

    Evolved Suit (SPOILERS
First Appearance: Marvel's Spider-Man 2

An original suit crafted by Miles near the end of the game. It acts as a replacement for his upgraded suit.

  • Costume Evolution: This becomes Miles' new outfit after the Symbiote takes over New York. While the upgraded suit is based on Peter Parker's Spider-Man costume, the evolved suit is an entirely original suit crafted by Miles.
Miles Morales: It's time for a Miles Morales original, y'know? 1 of 1.
  • Product Placement: The outfit was made as part of an advertising deal with Adidas, who made a very similar outfit (minus the mask and hood) as exercise clothes released shortly after the game.

    King in Black Suit
First Appearance: King in Black (Knullified variant cover)

A suit Miles wears showing how he would look if infected by a symbiote under the control of Knull. Unlocked by clearing all Symbiote nests.

  • Mark of the Beast: The spiral on his forehead is one of Knull's sigils.
  • Spikes of Villainy: The suit has spiked pauldrons intended to mirror those of Knull, the King in Black.
  • The Symbiote: The suit is meant to be a symbiote under the control of Knull, hence the spiked pauldrons and its chest and back emblems being dragons rather than spiders. It's still cosmetic, however.
