Sarutobi Sasuke

Everyone's favorite little ninja, Sasuke is a boy who grew up in Aokigahara until he was found by Yukimura.

Berserk Button: Do not insult or threaten Sanada Yukimura in his presence.
Clone Angst: After finding out that forest-dwellers like himself are Mibu genetic experiments, he struggles with self-worth and worries that Yukimura will see him as a monster. It gets even worse when he encounters the other "rare breed" children, all of whom look like him and have the Crimson Eyes.
Cute Bruiser/Badass Adorable: One of the strongest characters in the series as well as one of the cutest.
Deadpan Snarker: He's a rude one, especially toward Benitora. With the Juyushi, he snarks defensively to disguise the fact that he cares about them.
Dude Looks Like a Lady: Due to only being 12, Sasuke doesn't have the most masculine build, he can confuse anyone into believing he's a little girl.
- In the Character Guide Book, there was an entire page dedicated to fan drawings of what Sasuke would look like if he was a girl or dressed up like a girl; Sasuke was shocked to see this and wasn't happy, while Yukimura believes Sasuke would be really cute as a girl or dressed up like one.
Hellish Pupils: One of his defining features as a child from Aokigahara; that is, until his abilities as a "Rare Breed" kick in, in which case it becomes a case of Red Eyes, Take Warning.
Heroic RRoD: He "crashes" if he uses his powers too much.
Massive Numbered Siblings: Sort of. Sasuke, who disappeared from the lab as an infant, was #15379 of the rare breed children. He has tens of thousands of genetically identical "siblings".
Ninja Brat: Subverted, as Sasuke is very experienced and skilled in battle despite his youth. There's some overlap with Kid Samurai, as he uses swords typically wielded by samurai, but his combat style utilizes more of the agility and stealth employed by ninja.
Parental Abandonment: At least it seems that way until we find out he's actually a failed creation of the Mibu clan.
Pint-Sized Powerhouse: Is very strong for his size (Antera and Tokito being the only ones who exceed him in this respect) and is shown casually shattering trees or breaking the ground with his bare hands.
Power Limiter: His previous swords, including the replica of Tenro he wielded before he gained the Muramasa demonblade Shibien. Sasuke developed the Raikoken before he acquired Shibien, but Shibien was the first sword Sasuke could use it with that wouldn't outright shatter from the technique's power.
Red Eyes, Take Warning: Manga only.
Shock and Awe: Once he gets Shibien.
The Stoic: He tries, but it doesn't take much to make him drop it.
You Are Number 6: He's #15379 of the "rare breed" experiments.

Kirigakure Saizo

Authority Equals Asskicking: Inverted in the anime, he's the leader of the Juyushi but also the wimpiest.
Bodyguard Crush: In the anime, at least, on Yukimura. Could be argued in the manga.
Bodyguarding a Badass: For Yukimura. None of the Juyushi are even close to Yukimura's strength in a fight, and he ends up saving them more often than they save him.
Butt-Monkey: He's the victim of endless jokes and physical comedy.
The Lancer: Always by Yukimura's side.
Overshadowed by Awesome: Compared to all the other Braves, he's nothing special.

Anayama Kosuke

Voiced by: Megumi Ogata (JP), Megan Hollingshead (EN)

Action Girl: She can kill bears with her own hands, though she's not as powerful as Yukimura.
Body Double: For Yukimura. It manages to work, despite the obvious difference.
Paper-Thin Disguise: She may have the same face, hair and clothes as Yukimura, but her larger boobs marks the difference.
Taking the Bullet: Swaps places with Yukimura at one point to save him from Shindara. The aftermath is played for laughs when Yukimura apparently kisses Akari in exchange for healing him... except that it was Kosuke, who kissed her on the cheek.
