  • Deadpan Snarker: He mostly snarks at Machoke's bragging. But he also gets some zinger at Plusle's expense.
  • Odd Name Out: He is the only member of his family whose name does not begin with a G.

  • Mama Bear: To Machoke, she makes it clear if Mewtwo harms her son she would make him regret it. She even acts this way towards children who aren't hers. She's quick to jump on her surfboard to save Minun from drowning.
  • The Lad-ette: She's a woman who's a bodybuilder, a surfer, and a volleyball player.

Michael and Phyllis

First appearance: "Mon in the Moon"

Geraldine and Gary

First appearance: "Mon in the Moon"
  • Drives Like Crazy: In Mon in the Moon, Gary drives recklessly and crashes right through several trees after Minun points out that he realistically shouldn't be able to drive because he has no hands.

Snubbot

First appearance: "I, Snubbot"
  • Children Are Innocent: She's a robot kid who doesn't know how much the world works so she's confused when she finds out Minun's aunt and uncle, Raelynn and Raichu didn't show up to the family reunion because they have died. She assumed they would come to the next one because she initially didn't know death meant they would never come back, until it's explained to her.
  • Cute Machines: She is a robot that looks like a bulldog.
  • Imprinting: She is a robot and not an organic baby animal, but Minun is the first thing she sees which flatters him and he accepts the role.
  • Robot Kid: Minun designed her to look like a young Snubbull and she acts like a naive child to struggles with how to understand emotions.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: Towards water, she isn't waterproof so she's terrified of any kind of liquid, however she is willing to face her fears to save Minun from drowning.

    Mewtwo 
First appearance: "Mon in the Moon"
  • The Atoner: When he decides to not sink to the same lows as his bullies, he gives up his goal to destroy the planet and saves Minun from his own actions. He also tries to help others to prove he has changed.
  • Big Eater: Due to living in poverty in the past he chows down on food whenever he can.
  • Butt-Monkey: Mewtwo was this when he was a kid, being constantly bullied and eventually having his best friend killed in front of him.
  • Freudian Excuse: He was abandoned as a baby, lived in poverty, and was bullied by Tyrogue and Chimchar and lost his only friend at their hands.
  • Heel–Face Turn: When he almost turns Minun to stone, he realizes he's no better than his childhood bullies and restores Minun to normal. He also becomes friends with the Mon 4 and decides to not send the world to the sun.
  • No Infantile Amnesia: He can remember when he first opened his eyes. He says this is because he's a legendary Pokémon.
  • Never Learned to Talk: In "Mon in the Moon", he mentions that he didn't learn to speak until he was about five due to the fact that his parents had abandoned him in the woods before he had opened his eyes for the first time. He later learned to speak from overhearing Carnivine and Carla's conversations at night, but he didn't speak in proper grammar. Mewtwo's speech improved after he went to school, however.
  • Psychopathic Manchild: At first when he planned to push the planet into the sun. He was imprisoned on the moon since he was ten so he has a childish mentality and blames society for "making" him hateful. He loses the "psychopathic" side when he learns the error of his ways.

    Tyrogue and Chimchar (UNMARKED SPOILERS) 
First appearance: "Mon in the Moon"
  • Death of a Child: Mewtwo killed them both at ten years old via an Angst Nuke.
  • Enfant Terrible: Tyrogue beat Poiple within an inch of her life and threw her into the ice cold water. While Chimchar forced Mewtwo to watch.
  • The Bully: The two bullied Mewtwo a lot in school. They threw food at him and beat him up for telling on them.
  • Jerkass: They not only bully Mewtwo but kill Poipole just to break his heart.
  • Would Hit a Girl: Not only did Tyrogue hit Poiple. He also killed her with no remorse.

    Poipole (UNMARKED SPOILERS) 
First appearance: "Mon in the Moon"
  • Death of a Child: Tyrogue beat her to death at ten years old.
  • Posthumous Character: She's dead by the time Mon in the Moon begins.
  • The Speechless: She never says a word, she only makes vocal sounds such as yelping. Mewtwo stills understands her though.

General

  • Catchphrase: They usually say "Third-degree burn!" after they insult someone.
  • Dirty Coward: Flareon points out they are the real cowards since they only go after those smaller and weaker than them. When Mayor Espeon tells them off they run home with their tails between their legs.
  • Evil Is Burning Hot: They are fire types who are remorseless bullies who take pleasure in antagonizing the weak.
  • Gang of Bullies: They are a group of three who enjoy insulting and pranking those who are smaller and weaker than them, especially Flareon.
  • Jerkass to One: They enjoy mocking those smaller than them but especially Flareon.
  • Two Guys and a Girl: Charmeleon and Pignite are guys and Braixen is the only girl.

Charmeleon

  • The Leader: He initiates the bullying when he sees a weaker Pokemon. Pignite and Braizen follow and praise him.

Pignite

  • Brainy Pig: Based on a pig and he is a nerd who uses fancy words.
  • Four Eyes, Zero Soul: He wears glasses and is condescending towards anyone he considers dumb or powerless.
  • Nerdy Bully: He's shown to be somewhat nerdy, being into technology and wearing glasses, but he picks on those smaller than him.

Braixen

  • Foul Fox: A fox based Pokémon who is catty and rude.

    The Carnivine family 

General

Carnivine

First appearance: "Mon in the Moon"
  • Abusive Parents: He is strict with the rules he set for Camellia, throws a library book she borrowed into a puddle just to get her in trouble, and tries to take her money just because he's the "Man of the House"
  • Freudian Excuse: Subverted. Carnivine becomes angry when Camellia asks him what he would get his mother for mother's day. Camellia thinks his mother abused him, but Carla tells her that's not the case, she just wanted to teach him right and wrong and he hated when she didn't give him every single thing he wanted. He was also spoiled rotten by his father, but he never grew out of this as an adult.
  • Greed: One of his many vices, he cares about nothing except what he wants, including money.
  • Hate Sink: He was intended by the author to be hated and the few who saw the story hate his plant guts.
  • Hates Their Parent: Carnivine hates his mother for not giving him everything he wanted nor enabling his behavior.
  • Jerkass: He gets mad at Camellia for helping an injured Snivy get medical attention because she disobeyed his order to come home immediately after her errand, with no regard to his health.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Jerk: He only wanted to keep Camellia's egg so that he could have a son who can help him on the farm. He also becomes more concerned with taking Camellia's money than her being dead.
  • Lack of Empathy: He orders Carla to get rid of Camellia's egg and leave it in the woods until he realizes he could have a son who could help him with chores.
  • Only Cares About Inheritance: In "Withering", Camellia is killed in a stagecoach accident. Initially, Carnivine weeps over her, but he immediately gets over it when he realizes he can take her inheritance. Carla is utterly furious with his Skewed Priorities and divorces him on the spot.
  • Outliving One's Offspring: He outlives his daughter Camellia after she gets run over by a stagecoach, though he didn't really care.
  • Psychotic Manchild: He's just as spoiled as an adult as he was as a child. Carla even says he is still the same "petulant child" he was back then.
  • Skewed Priorities: He would rather take Camellia's money than mourn her death.
  • Spoiled Brat: As a kid he would complain about everything that was not up to his standards. His mother tried to set him straight, but she didn't succeed. He still has a spoiled nature as an adult, as he feels entitled to get everything from Camellia.
  • Stay in the Kitchen: He forces his wife and daughter to work within the home instead of pursuing their true dreams.
  • Wanted a Son Instead: Before Camellia hatches Carnivine calls her "Carnivine Jr." and "he".
  • Would Hurt a Child: He vine whips five year old Mewtwo for stealing a few berries from his garden.

Carla

First appearance: "Mon in the Moon"
  • Cowardice Callout: After Calvin blackmails Carter into allowing Carnivine to marry Carla, she's furious and yells at him for selling her out to save his own skin. Subverted when Calvin reveals the next day that he didn't want to get arrested because he didn't want Carla to be without a guardian, as she was still a minor at the time.
  • Daddy's Girl: She and her father were very close especially since their mother was no longer around. She gets angry at him for engaging her and Carnivine, but she forgives him whne he genuinely apologizes.
  • Good Parents: Unlike Carnivine, she encourages Camellia's dreams.
  • Nicegirl: She is accepting and caring towards her daughter and defends her when Carnivine gets on her case.
  • Open-Minded Parent: Unlike Carnivine she supports Camellia's dreams and allows her to explore the city despite Carnivine's protests.
  • Outliving One's Offspring: She outlives her adoptive daughter Camellia after she loses her life from a stagecoach accident, much to her dismay.

Camellia

First appearance: "Growing Apart"
  • Happily Adopted: Only to Carla, she hates her adoptive father Carnivine. Her birth mother gave Carla her egg and Carla decided to raise her as her own.
  • Hates Their Parent: She grows resentment towards her adoptive father for his entitled and demanding behavior. Her opinion of him drops when she finds out he was in an Arranged Marriage with Carla and he didn't even care she lost her birth mother.
  • The Hero Dies: In the "Growing Apart" chapter "Withered", she gets run over by a stagecoach crash and she dies after being injured. The focus then shifts to her mother Carla.
  • Nice Girl: Camellia is willing to give her own money to those who need it, in spite of Carnivine telling her it's a waste.

Cassie

First appearance: "Growing Apart"
  • Alcoholic Parent: She drinks alcohol to ease the pain of her son growing into a monster.
  • In Vino Veritas: Cassie is normally calm until she gets drunk, in which she sobs about Carnivine's future.
  • Not So Stoic: Carla says she seemed to be calm and never raised her voice at Carnivine, but as it turns out she is just hiding how scared she is of her son's future if he doesn't change and she sobs while drowning her sorrows. She also mistakes Carla for her son due to being drunk.
  • Parents as People: She tries to teach Carnivine to be a good person, but he never listened to her. She bottles up her emotions and drinks to ease the pain, she considers herself a terrible parent because of her failure to change him for the better.

Calvin

First appearance: "Growing Apart"
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: He acts like a genuine upholder of the law but he is really a Dirty Cop.
  • Dirty Cop: He's the reason Carnivine turned into the monster he currently is. Additionally, he engages in heavy police brutality against a Palpitoad for only a minor theft.
  • Fantastic Racism: Carla implies he holds Unova Pokémon in contempt, a sentiment proven by his use of "Unovile"; essentially a racial slur for Pokémon.
  • Police Brutality: He breaks Palpitoad's foot, bites his tail, and whips him with his vines because he stole a few snacks.
  • Small-Town Tyrant: He's a rural cop with a southern drawl who is involved in police brutality and won't help if a Unova Pokemon is in danger.
  • Would Hurt a Child: He brutally attacks a young teenage Palpitoad for stealing a few snacks from a store.

Carter

First appearance: "Growing Apart"
  • Dirty Coward: Carla calls him one when he sets up the wedding to avoid arrest. But he only did this so Carla wouldn't be alone without a guardian.
  • Parents as People: He gets Carla betrothed to a boy she hates. However he had no idea what Carnivine was like.

  • Congestion Speak: She spoke like this while she was ill.
  • Stealth Pun: She's a homeless, urchin-based Pokémon; in other words, she's a literal street urchin.

Palpitoad

First appearance: "Growing Apart"
  • I Want My Mommy!: A very dark example; he shrieks for his mother while being viciously beaten by Calvin.

Mimikyu

First appearance: "A New Fiend"
  • A Birthday, Not a Break: His parents were murdered on his fifth birthday.
  • Companion Cube: His two stuffed Pikachu toys, Mika and Churchill. Since he had no family or friends.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: His parents were killed by Serperior when he was five years old.
  • Fanboy: Of Pikachu, he has a lot Pikachu stuff such as posters and toys.
  • Friendless Background: He is isolated with no friends until he meets the Mon 4 and Mewtwo, his only friends being Mika and Churchill his Companion Cubes.
  • Minor Living Alone: He's a ten year old child who lives by himself due to losing his parents at a young age.

Serperior

First appearance: "A New Fiend"
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: Her son dies from being cursed by a Mimikyu, driving her to hate the whole species.
  • Fantastic Racism: She thinks all Mimikyu are beasts who curse others just because one cursed her son.
  • Freudian Excuse Is No Excuse: When she reveals she lost her son to a Mimikyu, the Mon 4 and Mewtwo tell her it's a shame a child died, but it doesn't mean a whole species is evil and it's no excuse to kill two innocent people.
  • Green and Mean: She's a green Pokemon who is also a murderer.
  • Karma Houdini Warranty: She wasn't arrested for killing Mimikyu's parents, but five years later was taken away by the police for assaulting Mimikyu.
  • Mama Bear: Deconstructed, she hates all Mimikyu after one unintentionally killed her son with a curse, but she's not in the right for hating the whole species.
  • Outliving One's Offspring: The reason she hates Mimikyu, one killed her son with a curse when he looked under their costume.
  • Rich Bitch: She lives in a mansion ina neighborhood full of rich folks. In her first appearance she is shown as a snob, but she's revealed to be much worse in her second appearance when it's revealed she killed Mimikyu's parents.
  • Snakes Are Sinister: She's a snake-like Pokemon and it doesn't get much more sinister than trying to kill every Mimikyu she sees out of bigotry and revenge.
  • Would Hurt a Child: She attempts to murder Mimikyu when he's only five and when she met him five years later she was still determined to end his life, she would have if the Mon 4 and Mewtwo had not stepped in.
