The Species in General

    All Characters
  • Color-Coded Characters: All human characters that aren't fully allied to the cult are coloured differently to make them distinct from others. Other certain characters who are typically part of some sort of faction keep the same colors:
    • Human cultists are navy blue.
    • Demons are burnt orange.
    • Spider Furry(ies) are green.
    • Androids are cyan.
    • Titans are dark brown.
    • Buzzits are lavender.
    • Some upcoming concept species have confirmed colours as well:
      • Sea People are a deep, dark blue.
      • Sand People are light brown.
      • Celestians are bright pink.
  • Everyone Calls Him "Barkeep": All characters' names are actually the descriptive nicknames the protagonist comes up for them.
    • The name PDR Guy is more of a catchall term for the protagonist that the fans have come up with, although it has been used in the comic.
  • Vague Age: The simplistic art style makes it difficult to discern the ages of the cast.

Specific Characters

    The Protagonists

In General

  • Did You Just Punch Out Cthulhu?: For a rogue's gallery of odd people, they have done well against demonic forces, cannibals and magically powered children.

The Protagonist a.k.a PDR Guy

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/unknown1_5_2.png
There is literally no way this could go wrong.
The protagonist of our tale! Payer of rents! he hasn't yet Seducer of men and women! one ex and a lost girlfriend Hero of our time! caused a lot of this bullshit
  • Casanova Wannabe: As with his compulsive stripping, his attempts to seduce nearly anyone he comes across have yet to work.
  • Deal with the Devil: One of the very first things he accomplishes is selling his soul to a demon.
  • Distracted by the Sexy: Sometimes attempts to invoke this trope when stripping.
  • It's All About Me: Views himself as the absolute paragon of sexiness and perfection.
  • Manchild: Has some strong hints of this, from openly enjoying slumber parties, to having a toychest in his room (no girls allowed), to eating an entire crate of discovered candy in the Overlord's castle. Generally, he tends to be irresponsible and very impulsive, and often displays a lack of maturity with sensitive topics.
  • Momma's Boy: He thinks very fondly of his mother.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Chekhov's gunned his way, mistake after mistake, into the adventure he's in now. Some of the things he's responsible for include:
    • Caused a political earthquake in the demon realm.
    • Got his girlfriend kidnapped.
    • Caused the destruction of a close friend's soul.
    • Got another friend killed in battle.
  • Talking Weapon: An odd version of the trope, as one of the first powers he gains is the ability to talk to any inanimate object he wants to. Whether they comply or/and help, though, is another matter entirely.
  • The Ditz: He's very erratic, and often acts out violently for no real reason. Sometimes crosses over into Genius Ditz when he
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: To the demons, practically is this for the entirety of the Overlord Dimwit arc.
  • Walking Shirtless Scene: Strips whenever he deems the situation appropriate, which is almost every form of interaction ever.
  • Would Hurt a Child: Has no qualms against stealing a child's bike, punting said child across the city, leaving a young child in what is essentially hell, and fighting his children-aged allies.

Psychotic Asshole

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/psychotic_asshole.png
"Names are a waste of t?me."
After escaping from his imprisonment on the cultist island with the help of PDR Guy, Psychotic Asshole (PA) agreed to PDR Guy's adventure to pay his rent. A real ladies' man, although he also harbors a dark, potentially dangerous secret.
  • Empty Eyes: Unlike the other characters, his eyes are a hollow white, reflecting the influence *?* has over his mind.
  • Deadpan Snarker: He certainly lives up to the "Asshole" part of his title.
  • More Teeth than the Osmond Family: His mask has a pattern that closely resembles a mouthful of pointed teeth. Goes double for his real mouth, which is frozen in a nasty Slasher Smile.
  • The Stoic: Aside from a massive amount of snark, he rarely expresses many strong emotions whatsoever. He does have his moments, though. In the aftermath of Restore, he expresses deep regret over the damage he's caused - and, after being comforted by PDR Guy with a Cooldown Hug, he ends up returning the favor.
  • Verbal Tic: Usually "haha" and "yeah", which he adds at the beginnings and ends of sentences.
  • Weaksauce Weakness: Ice cream, which is the only known way to calm him down from a rampage.

Pretentious Broad

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/pbs_9.png
Dragged into PDR Guy's adventure, Pretentious Broad (PB) is a self-employed detective with a sharpened broom and an even sharper wit. She acts as the crew's main fighter in the journey.

Best Friend

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bf.png
WAIT. What did you get in trouble for THIS time.
PDR Guy's high-school best friend, lawyer, and basically the everyman within the adventure. Somehow, he's still PDR Guy's friend through all the madness, although it's not certain how much more of these shenanigans he'll be able to endure.
  • Gag Nose: In an art style mostly void of noses, he's the glaring exception. Even a telepod to his house is represented by his nose!
  • Only Sane Man: With only a degree in defense law, a shotgun, and his common sense to aid him, Best Friend tends to be the most appalled and confused when magic, demons, and stripping get involved.
  • Straight Gay: Save for the constant teasing by PDR Guy, Best Friend rarely brings up the matter of his sexuality.
  • Transparent Closet: Although he denies being gay, he seems quite okay with the idea of "experimenting" with PDR Guy and PA. The fact that he gets very visibly flustered around Cool Mercenary should be a tip-off of his orientation.
    Antagonists

The Landlord

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/landlord_7.png
"You’re tired of this idiot trying to screw you over. He owes you $100,000,000,000."
The Big Bad of PDR Guy's adventure, the enigmatic Landlord is the one responsible for both his missing girlfriend and massive debt problem. Currently stationed in a fortified office atop the apartment complex, where he keeps tabs on PDR Guy's misadventures and awaits the rent he's owed.
  • Ambiguously Human: His powers (as detailed in Good Smoking, Evil Smoking below) tend to verge on the supernatural, even for the world he's in.
  • Big Brother Is Watching: He keeps constant surveillance on PDR Guy through a monitor in his office, and it's implied that the entire adventure is shown through his screen.
  • Disproportionate Retribution: Kidnaps PDR Guy's girlfriend and raises the cost of his rent to an absurd $100 billion, because... he has a history of not paying his rent on time.
  • Eyeless Face: His is the only sprite to lack eyes.
  • Faux Affably Evil: For all the terrible things he's done, the Landlord tends to be very cordial in his memos.
  • Good Smoking, Evil Smoking: Almost always shown with a cigarette, which he uses to trigger traps, burn attackers, and, apparently, to stamp official documents. He can also blow clouds of smoke to warp away objects (or people).
  • Insistent Terminology: He didn't kidnap PDR Guy's girlfriend - merely "displaced" her, somehow. The meaning of this has yet to be explained.
  • Loophole Abuse: According to the contract he has with PDR Guy, it's not outside his rights to raise the rent cost for "irresponsible" residents.
  • Manipulative Bastard: The main reason he kidnapped PDR Guy's girlfriend was so she could act as collateral, ensuring that he couldn't just walk out and end the contract.

Spider Furry

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/spider_furry.png
"Somebody's 4 genius. OowoO"
A strange anthropomorphic spider-like creature and self-declared criminal. Originally found in a prison in the Netherworld, PDR Guy released him from his shackles in return for help escaping said prison.

    The Cultists

Stylish Cultist

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/stylishcultist.png
"It's actually kinda c⊙⊙l. Aside fr⊙m being enslaved f⊙r eternity."
One of the first cultists PDR Guy encounters. The Stylish Cultist is one of the higher-ranking ones on the island, symbolized by his robe.
  • Fusion Dance: Becomes an amalgamate with Cool Mercenary after the latter's soul is introduced into his body.
  • In the Hood: His Badass Long Robe comes with a hood that obscures his eyes. He wears it to appear more sinister, or to hide his soulless eye.
  • Pretty Boy: He has some definite hints of this, if his name isn't any indication.
  • Sanity Slippage: Undergoes some major slippage after the loss of his soul, culminating in him pulling a Face–Heel Turn and attacking the protagonists during Restore.

Junk Vendor

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/junkvendor.png
A chipper, presumably young girl who runs the equivalent of a "cultist lemonade stand" with her junk booth.
  • Dual Wielding: Her weapons of choice are a pair of dual-weld knives.
  • Foreign Culture Fetish: She has a strong fascination with demon culture, up to and including creating a demonsona.
  • Precocious Crush: She has one on PDR Guy.
  • Troubling Unchildlike Behavior: When she has a breakdown during the sleepover, she angrily excuses herself to the other room and starts drinking from Sexy Cop's beer.
  • Vague Age: PDR Guy describes her as looking "quite young", implying that she is a minor.

Telepod Vendor

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/telepodlady.png
"Teleports. Example? Building. Break. Teleport. Voila. Building."
Also known as the Telepod Lady. A terse speaker who specializes in the creation of telepods, one-use orbs that can be smashed to instantly teleport to a preset location. She tends to be on good terms with PDR Guy, even when the other vendors may have reason to be upset with him.
  • Beige Prose: She only speaks in one-word sentences.
  • Missing Mom: It's stated that the reason she creates telepods at all is in the search of her mother, who went out on a mission for the cultists one day and never returned.
  • Teleportation with Drawbacks: Her telepods work like a single-use Warp Whistle. The location itself is set during creation, although it cannot teleport the user across dimensions.
  • Vague Age: Overlaps with Younger Than They Look. Due to the art style, she initially appears to be an older woman, but the narrative notes that she's not very wrinkly (or uses a lot of moisturizer).
