    Chiaki Koizumi

Chiaki Koizumi

"Am I really here?"
Click here to see her in her GA Uniform.

The comic's main protagonist. She is an awkward, shy, otaku girl who has a crush on her best friend Fumiko. When she sees Fumiko and her boyfriend Kenta quarrelling, she tries to break up the fight but then finds herself transported to another world.

  • Boyish Short Hair: Chiaki has pretty short hair, though it used to be a lot longer in the past.
  • Blow You Away: It is revealed at the end of Chapter 2 that she is Wind-aligned. The beginning of Chapter 3 reveals that she decided to stay unsealed. Though she still doesn't know how to use her powers.
  • Cannot Spit It Out: She longs to confess her feelings to Fumiko, but her extreme awkwardness prevents her from even starting a confession, let alone finishing one.
Fumiko: Who do you like Chiaki-chan?
    Chiaki: Huh? I...I like...bread.
  • Genre Savvy: Chiaki can recognize several fantasy concepts/Tropes due to being an otaku. For example, after getting transported to The Other World, she notes that she's "seen anime like this" before.
  • Girlish Pigtails: Chiaki used to wear her hair like this, until she decided to shorten it for unstated reasons.
  • Heroic BSoD: When she wakes up to discover she's in another world, with no apparent way to get back, she breaks down in tears.
  • Otaku: With her geeky love of anime, manga, and video games, Chiaki is this trope to a T.
  • Trapped in Another World: Chiaki gets knocked unconscious after falling headfirst into the school gate, and when she wakes up, she finds herself in another world, with no discernable way to return to her homeworld.

    Nagisa

Nagisa

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nagisa_8.png
Room P-1's resident bookworm.
  • Ambiguous Gender Identity: She has a collection of transformation potions that she takes regularly, which might mean that she's trans, but it could also be to change some other feature and she's cisgendered.
  • Cute Bookworm: She absolutely loves reading and is quite adorable, especially when she shows her more laidback and vulnerable side.
  • Establishing Character Moment: She's introduced to be so much of a bookworm that she doesn't even notice Chiaki entering the room or the fact that she introduced herself to the class until Eiji called her attention. As she was too preoccupied with a book.
  • Ironic Fear: Nagisa is a Winged Humanoid who's afraid of heights. Given she was nearly thrown to her death for being born with black wings, its quite justified.
  • Wings Do Nothing: Justified, as her wings were broken when she was rescued after being thrown off her homeland as a newborn and are too small to be used in flying, but she still sees views them as a source of pride.

    Micah

Micah

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/micah_3_9.png
A soft-spoken yet confident student. Micah is non-binary and uses they/them problems.
  • Nice Person: Even when the situation is complicated, Micah always stays calm and polite.

    Theo Ainsworth

Theodor "Theo" Elton Ainsworth

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/theo_ainsworth.png
A bright young man who's often flustered at the sight of girls.

    Verity

Verity

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/verity_7.png
A Nereid girl who's constantly full of energy. She grew up with Theo's family.
  • Deadpan Snarker: While a Nice Girl, she's not afraid to dish out a few darkly humored quips every once in a while. Such as how she expresseses her frustrations after someone stole her and Eiji's pizza order.
Verity: I hope that thief burns the roof of her mouth on our pizza!
  • Genki Girl: She is very frequently excited and shows great enthusiasm in even the most mundane of things. Best exemplified when the gives a tour of the Grand Arcane Library and gleefully shows Chiaki the wonders of...the nearest restroom.

    Eiji

Eiji Akatsuki

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/eiji_3.png
Nagisa's cousin. He's quite athletic and unlike his cousin, can actually fly.
  • The Leader: Due to his brains and athleticism, the rest of Room P-1 seem him as such.

    Belial

Belial

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/belial_mis.png
A sassy, somewhat hot-headed demon girl.
  • Contralto of Strength: Belial is described by Jocelyn to have quite a deep voice for a 16-year-old, she also has considerable strength and can be very intimidating.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Formerly a spirit-aligned human, she was corrupted into a demon at a very young age.
  • Deadpan Snarker: When she's not being bold, she often pokes fun at people in a sardonic manner.
  • Discard and Draw: When she became a demon she lost her magic.
  • Has a Type: Belial likes tall guys and short girls. With a greater emphasis on the latter, if only because she's so tall herself that she has trouble finding guys taller than her.
  • Height Insult: She's prone to jokingly mock people shorter than her, such as Theo. But given how tall she is, she'll even lightheartedly give Keegan, who's the second tallest member of Room P-1 btw, the nickname "Shortstuff".
  • Huge Schoolgirl: Belial is 6'4", making her the tallest member of the main cast, and she's only 16.
  • If You Ever Do Anything to Hurt Her...: Belial will not hesitate to beat someone up if they threaten her friends.

    Keegan

Keegan

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/keegan_3.png
A jokey, and fun-loving Kitsune who easily endears himself to most.
  • Bad Liar: He often finds it difficult to lie because his extremely expressive ears and tail usually end up giving the truth away.
  • Blow You Away: Keegan is Wind-aligned and demonstrates his powers by blasting wind from his hands to shut a door.
  • Eyes Always Shut: Keegan’s eyes are drawn in a way where it seems as though he’s perpetually squinting. This is likely a way to emphasize his fox-like features. As this trope in Japanese is referred to as "kitsune no mo" ("fox eyes").
  • My Greatest Failure: When Keegan was young, his older sister was injured to the point that she has, in his words, "never been the same since" while protecting him. He now regrets being unable to help her to the point that he is (at least until Belial tells him the specifics of the corruption process) willing to become a demon so he can protect the people he cares about.
  • Plucky Comic Relief: While all the members of Room P-1 have their humorous tendencies, Keegan is far and away the most overtly comedic one.
  • Sad Clown: Behind his jokester persona, Keegan has been shown to be dealing with his own issues. He witnessed his older sister get injured while defending him, and something in his past caused him to become scared of Unbound people.
  • Stepford Smiler: Though his usual demeanor is that of a rambunctious jokester, the few moments so far where he wasn't acting in such a way reveal that he is working through some trauma.
  • The Tease: He loves to playfully flirt with his friends.

Staff

    Nara Kendry

Nara Kendry

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nara_kendry.png
Redge's assistant and the teacher of Room P-1.
  • Arbitrary Skepticism: Despite living in a world filled with magic, she considers "Unbounds" (travelers from another world), to be nothing more than a myth.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Nara has a very biting sense of sarcasm and sharp wit, which she often uses when faced with misinformation.
  • An Ice Person: She has the ability to freeze objects and create ice and snow at will.
  • Married to the Job: She is too busy with her 3 jobs at the GA Library to participate in the dating scene.

    Redginald Lewis

Redginald "Redge" Lewis

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/redginald_lewis_mis.png
The master librarian of the Grand Arcane Library and founder of the Page Program.
  • Cool Old Guy: Redge is kind, respectable, and an all around pleasant old man.

  • I Was Quite the Looker: He's described to have had glorious flowing hair in the past.

The Bandits (aka The Little Bastards)

    Bonnie

Bonnie

A former princess who ran away from home and became an outlaw. She is the leader of the bandits.
  • Abusive Parents: Implied; Bonnie ran away from home prior to the events of MIS, describes her father (and his associates) as scumbags (see below), and wishes she'd took her little brothers with her when running away. Lynn has stated that "the experience [of growing up a princess] - whatever it was - was not a positive one for her, overall."
  • Aristocrats Are Evil: Not Bonnie herself, but this is how she describes her father and his advisors, nobles, and knights and how she views aristocrats in general.

  • Astonishingly Appropriate Appearance: She's a Fire-aligned redhead.

  • Outlaw Couple: Is in love with Rhys, who's also a member of her bandit team.

  • Uptown Girl: Is in love with Rhys, who is confirmed to not be of noble background.

    Rhys

Rhys

An Unbound who met Bonnie back when she was still living with her father and helped her run away. He is now her partner in crime—both literally and figuratively.
  • An Ice Person: He's Frost-aligned, meaning he can freeze or cool down objects and make ice and snow at will.
  • Fire/Ice Duo: He, an Ice-aligned guy, is in love with Bonnie, a Fire-aligned girl.
  • Outlaw Couple: Is in love with Bonnie, the leader of the bandit team.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/fumiko_tanikawa.png
Chiaki's best friend since childhood.
  • Childhood Friend: She's been friends with Chiaki from a very young age.
  • Love Martyr: No matter how much verbal abuse she gets from Kenta, she will always try to defend her boyfriend and deny that he's abusive at all.

    Kenta Maeda

Kenta Maeda

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kenta_maeda.png
The star of the school’s baseball team’s and Fumiko’s boyfriend.
  • Alpha Bitch: A gender-inverted example. He’s one of the most popular students in Chiaki’s school, but is abusive towards his girlfriend.
  • Everyone Has Standards: He is an abusive boyfriend to Fumiko, but even he shows concern when Chiaki hits her head on the school gate; he desperately checks if she's okay and calls a doctor.
  • Sir Swears-a-Lot: Kenta is shown to have quite the potty mouth.
    Ai Nakano

Aika "Ai" Nakano

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/aika_nakano.png
  • Alpha Bitch: She is a pretty popular student at school and often loves tormenting Chiaki for her nerdy interests.
