Tsuna's Famiglia

Vongola Ring Guardians

    In General
The Tenth Generation of Vongola, led by Tsunayoshi Midoriya.
  • Adaptational Diversity: Instead of having only Nagi/Chrome as the only female guardian, this version of them has the girls outnumbering the boys on four to three, with Konomi, Haru and Ren taking Ryohei, Lambo and Hibari's places. Nagi is the official Mist Guardian instead of Rokudo.
  • Badass Crew: Ren is the Number Two Hero, Konomi is the Vice-Chief of the First Unit of the Alliance, and all the others eventually start become even stronger as time goes on.
  • Cosmic Motifs: Each Vongola Ring represents the Sky and a wheather phenomena that colors it: The head of the Famiglia (Tsuna) uses the Sky Ring, for the Sky colors and encompasses everything. The shower that washes all away: the Rain Ring (Takeshi); The violent wind that lashes out fiercely: the Storm Ring (Hayato); The drifting cloud that walks its own path, unbound by anyone: the Cloud Ring (Ren); The illusion that none can comprehend, forever eclipsing the truth: the Mist Ring (Nagi); The great orb of fire that lights up the Sky: the Sun Ring (Konomi); The Lightning-bolt that strikes with great force: the Lightning Ring (Haru).
  • Defeat Equals Friendship: How Tsuna gained the loyalty from Takeshi, Gokudera and Konomi. One could argue that Tsuna didn't actually defeated Ren in a fight, but she still took the whole incident with the Dying Will as a personal offense.
  • Polyamory: While the guys are excluded, all female Guardians are in love with Tsuna, having fallen for him on one way or another.
  • Undying Loyalty: For Tsuna, they are ready to go to Hell and back.

    Tsunayoshi "Tsuna" Midoriya

Tsunayoshi "Tsuna" Midoriya

Role: Attacker

Element: Sky Flames

Weapon: Ouroboros X Gloves

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sawadatsunayoshi6002585900_6.jpg

Izuku Midoriya's son with Pyra, the tenth Vongola boss, and holder of the Sky Ring. A Junior High student that fails in just about everything he pursues; receiving terrible grades in school, failing at sports, and unanimously regarded as a loser by all of his peers, to the point of receiving the nickname "No-Good Tsuna". His life changes when his father asks an old foe, the infant hitman named Reborn, to tutor him.

  • Because You Were Nice to Me: The main reason why he likes Kyoko so much is because she's the only one who doesn't treat him like a screwup.
  • Like Father, Like Son: He has more in common with his father than he thinks. For instance, they're both pariahs at their middle schools. They're also chick magnets who quickly gain harems.

    Reborn

Reborn

Quirk: Unknown

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/reborn_anime_artwork.png

A European hitman who's regarded as the deadliest man in the world. Izuku hires him to tutor his son, though Reborn also wishes to train Tsuna to become the head of the next generation of the Vongola Famiglia.

His tropes can be found here.

    Hayato Gokudera

Hayato Gokudera

Quirk: Ignition Point

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gokuderahayato6002585899.jpg

The Tenth Generation Storm Guardian. A transfer student from Italy who doesn't like the idea of Tsuna becoming the next head of the Famiglia. But then he was beaten by Tsuna, and of course, Defeat Means Friendship, so he started his pursuit of being the "Tenth's" right-hand man, becoming his first subordinate. This didn't mean that he would be nice to other people, though.

  • Anti-Hero: He's a pretty big jerk towards anyone who isn't Tsuna. But he's not so bad after all.

    Takeshi Yamamoto

Takeshi Yamamoto

The Tenth Generation Rain Guardian. The baseball team's starter and ace player. He becomes Tsuna's second subordinate.

  • Adaptation Species Change: He has a blood-red Core Crystal, meaning he has Blade heritage. His father is later revealed to be Aegaeon.

    Haru Miura

Haru Miura

Quirk: Electromagnet

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/harumiura.jpg

The Tenth Generation Lightning Guardian. A girl who attends Midori Middle School, one of the toughest elite schools to get into in the area. She also likes Tsuna in a romantic sense after he saves her. She eventually becomes Tsuna's fourth subordinate.

Her Quirk is Electromagnet.

  • Always Someone Better: When helping Tsuna and his friends with their homework, she's unable to answer one question for two straight hours. Alexandria takes one glance at the question and answers it in seconds. She doesn't take it well.
  • Shout-Out: Her Quirk is basically Mikoto Misaka's Esper abilities but on a smaller scale… for now.
  • Stalker with a Crush: According to Reborn, she always follows Tsuna to school.

    Konomi Tatara

Konomi Tatara

Quirk: Beast Power

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/konomi_tatara_1.png

The Tenth Generation Sun Guardian and the Vice-Chief of the Anti-Annihilation Alliance's First Unit. Her Quirk is Beast Power, which allows her to gain the same attributes as certain creatures in combat.

At Pyra's suggestion, she challenges Tsuna to a spar. After losing she decides to become Tuna's fifth subordinate.

  • Badass Boast: Gives two during her fight against Lussuria for the Sun Ring in Chapter 21:
Konomi: This is nothing! I've hurt my fingers worse when I punched sandbags! Being a martial artist means enduring the pain to better myself! And beyond that! I'm fighting for Tsuna! There's no way your shallow reasons for fighting will ever surpass the strength he gives me!
Konomi: And I'll break through your reflection! No matter what! I'll remain the Sun that shines in Tsuna's Sky! I'll illuminate his life and keep him warm! Because I am his Sun Guardian!
  • Hero Worship: Of Nia.

    Ren Yamashiro — Vairocana

Ren Yamashiro

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ren_yamashiro_28manga_color29.png

The Tenth Generation Cloud Guardian and Chief of the Tenth Unit of the Alliance: Tamuz and current Number 2 Hero.

  • The Ace: She's a prodigy who managed to become the Number 2 Hero and break Izuku's record in joining the Top 10 (he was the Number 1 by the time he was 16), having done so at 15.
  • Affectionate Nickname: She refers to Tsuna as "little lion cub". Although given her personality, it verges a bit into Terms of Endangerment.
  • Aggressive Submissive: Ren is all about control and dominating others, but after being shot by Leon, her Dying Will Mode reveals that she craves affection even if it means becoming submissive to others, or at least to Tsuna.
  • Always Second Best: Towards Izuku, for all her incredible achievements, Izuku is the only obstacle she never managed to overcome.
  • Anti-Hero: She is firmly on the good guy's side, but Ren is also extremely proud, ambitious, and resentful of others.
  • Child Prodigy: She was a natural-born talent in every area since she was a child, became a Pro Hero at the age of 13, and became Japan's Number Two Hero at the age of 15.
  • Decomposite Character: She will be taking Kyoya's role as Cloud Guardian.
  • Heroes Love Dogs: Owns a pair of Shiba Inu, which she loves like her own kids.
  • It's Personal: She has a grudge against Rex because he was the first person to ever defeat her, and when he offered her a hand up while gushing about her Quirk, she ran away in tears. Her interest in Tsuna started because she thought she could use Tsuna to get back at Rex somehow. But then her animosity turned to Tsuna after she's killed by one of Reborn's special bullets and her Dying Will makes her act like a dog and be pampered by Tsuna. Ren then made it her personal mission to show Tsuna that his place is beneath her, even ordering a dog collar to do so.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: Ren's attempt to get revenge on Izuku by turning Tsuna into her personal servant backfires tremendously when her Dying Will Mode makes her submissive to him.
  • Leg Focus: Tsuna is quick to notice her legs.
  • Lonely at the Top: She had no friends growing given her prodigal skills and it's clear her friendship with Bell is mostly one-sided out of fear. Tsuna does start to help her mellow out.
  • Not So Stoic: Ren keeps her cool most of the time and looks affable to almost everyone. One of the few times where this broke was when she's killed and her Dying Will was being pampered by Tsuna like a dog (she even acted like one); afterward, she flew off and wrecked a mountain with her face red as a tomato.
  • One-Man Army: She singlehandedly defeated the entire Pilipenko Family, Russia's most powerful and influential crime syndicate, by the end of the 13.

    Nagi Iida

Nagi Iida

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/chromedokuro6002585889.jpg

The Tenth Generation Mist Guardian. Tenya and Camie's daughter, and one Tsuna's childhood friends.

  • Honorary Uncle: She calls Rex "Uncle Izuku".
  • Kind Hearted Cat Lover: At the end of Chapter 11 she happily talks with a stray kitten about her day, which included confessing to Tsuna and kissing him. Unfortunately, this causes her to get hit by a truck trying to rescue the kitten.
  • Puppy Love: She's had a crush on Tsuna for a while, having always thought of him as being cool.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nei_visual.png

An 11-year-old girl, a fully certified member of the Seventh Unit. She later willingly joins Tsuna's Famiglia, becoming his sixth subordinate.

  • The Baby of the Bunch: At only 11, she's the youngest member not only of her division but also the youngest member seen so far in the entire Anti-Annihilation Alliance.
  • She's All Grown Up: Her self from 10 years in the future is described as very beautiful.

Midoriya Family

    In General
Izuku's family, all grown up after the events of My Driver Academia.
  • Adaptational Name Change: All their last names are changed to Midoriya.
  • Always Someone Better: Most of the of older siblings, and some of the younger ones like Mio, are this towards Tsuna, being prodigies in one or multiple areas growing up. Glimmer and Milton are musicians, Hajime and Alex are inventors, Mio, Satoru and Tenka are amongst the smartest and strongest amongst the family, and that's just to name a few.
  • Big, Screwed-Up Family: The family of the Number 1 hero has issues. While everyone does love each other, the younger generation have issues with each other due to a combination of jealousy, feelings of being neglected, and so on.
  • Child Prodigy: In one way or several others.
  • Crossover Relatives: Of the Massive Multiplayer Crossover variety. Besides Reborn, Xenoblade Chronicles and Chained Soldier, we have people from Arifueta (Hajime), Konosuba (Kasuma), Rising of Shield Hero (Naofumi), Jujutsu Kaisen (Satoru, Yuji, Megumi), Fire Force (Sho and Shinra), One Punch Man (Tatsumaki), Persona 4 (Labrys) and Mondaiji (Izayoi).
  • Hero of Another Story: Literally in case of several of them like Hajime, Kasuma, Naofumi and Izayoi, who are currently Trapped in Another World, not to mention how several others are already protagonists or major supporting characters in their home series.
  • Massively Numbered Siblings: Tsuna has several dozen or so siblings. It's a wonder they're able to keep track of each other.
  • Primal Scene: According to Word of God, all of them walked in a room where Izuku... was teaching their moms a thing or three more than once.
  • Successful Sibling Syndrome: A core issue among the younger kids are that several of them feel overshadowed by their successful older siblings and more talented siblings in their age group. This is a root cause of their more toxic dynamics, especially between Tsuna and Mio.

    Glimmer Midoriya

Glimmer Midoriya

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/img_3309.png

Izuku Midoriya's daughter with Pyra.

  • Shared Family Quirks: Pun aside, Glimmer's personality is similar to her aunt Mythra's, being quite surly, standoffish, and foul-mouthed.

    Milton Midoriya

  • Dead Guy Junior: He's named after the Gormotti boy Mythra was close to before Alrest was destroyed.

    Satoru Midoriya

Satoru Midoriya

Quirk: Limitless

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/satoru_gojo_young_anime.png

Izuku and Reiko's second son, a recently debuted Pro Hero.

  • Adaptational Badass: Zigzagged. On one hand, he lacks his Six Eyes technique, on the other, thanks to the Ether remnants left in Reiko's body, his Limitless is even more powerful than canon.
  • Adaptational Sexuality: While canonically straight, Word of God confirms Satoru likes both guys and girls in this story.
  • Berserk Button: Subtle, but the best way to piss him off is to insult his siblings, especially Tsuna.
  • Big Damn Heroes: Arrives just in time to save Kyoko from one of Bird's assassins.
  • Chick Magnet: He is a Midoriya, after all.
  • Polyamory: He is in a relationship with, Suguru, Shoko, Amanai and Utahime.
  • Pop-Cultured Badass: How he describes the beating he would give to one of the Devil Twins:
Satoru: Tsuna's currently spinning the block like he's a blue hedgehog named Sonic. Now run along, Amy Rose, I'm about to Chaos Control all over this bitch.
  • Pre-Mortem One-Liner: Before using Hollow Paradox: Purple against one of the Twins.
Satoru: Now let me ask you this, assassin, did you pray today?
  • Related in the Adaptation: He is Yuji and Megumi's brother in this story.
  • Shipper on Deck: He ships Tsuna with all the girls interested in him, although Nagi is his favorite since he knew about her crush on Tsuna since they were kids.
  • Strong Family Resemblance: Much like Reiko, he has silver hair and bright blue eyes.
  • Tears of Joy: He can't help but cry in happiness once he finds out Kazuma and Hajime survived the disappearance event.

    Izayoi Midoriya

Izayoi Midoriya

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/izayoi_anime.png
Izuku's son with Melissa.
  • The Ace: To put it simply, Izayoi is the Midoriya child. Smartest, strongest and most skilled, surpassing Tenka and Satoru together.
  • Beyond the Impossible: He once punched right through Satoru's Infinite barrier and give him a black eye. According to Tsuna, logic just walks out of the room whenever Izayoi is around.
  • Brilliant, but Lazy: He may be the most powerful amongst his siblings, but Izayoi would rather spend his time messing around, picking up fights and getting laid.
  • Deadpan Snarker: His interactions with Asuka run on this, with hints of sexual tension all around.
  • The Hedonist: Izayoi is a wanderer, loose in the in world doing whatever he wants. Izuku believes he got this kind of trait after having Majima as his baby sitter.
  • Like Father, Unlike Son: With how much of a hedonist he is, you would be excused to think he is Haze's son instead of Melissa.
  • Lovable Sex Maniac: He never an opportunity to hook up with a pretty girl, as Black Rabbit finds out.

Anti-Annihilation Alliance

    In General
The organization responsible for dealing with Annihilation Events and Fog Beasts, currently led by the Number One Hero, Rex.
  • Adaptation Expansion: The Alliance has Twelve Units instead of Nine in these story. There is also a Fourth Unit, which doesn't exist in canon.

  • Badass Crew: All chief of units are either well trained and amongst the highest ranked heroes in Japan (like Izuku, Denki and Ren) or prodigies capable of becoming this (like Tenka and Kyoka).

Izuku is the Commander, his wife Nia is the Chief of the First Unit, his biological daughter Tenka is the head of the Sixth Unit, two his adopted daughters, Kyoka and Eri are the heads of the Seventh and Twelth units, Fubuki whom he is not married but is the mother of three of his daughters is the head of the Ninth Unit, his best friends Denki and Simon are in charge of the Fifth and Eleventh units respectively, his honorary niece Bell is Chief of the Third Unit and finally, Ren, who is one of Tsuna's many future love interests is the head of the Tenth Unit. So far the only people not even remotely connected to the family are Varvara and Mira.
  • Meaningful Name: All units are named after months of the Hebrew calendar.

Seventh Unit

    Yuuki Wakura

Yuuki Wakura

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/yuki_visual.png

A friend of Tsuna's. A "defective" Blade hybrid and housework-adept 3rd-year high-school student on the cusp of graduating who accidentally got caught near an Annihilation Event, he was saved by Kyouka Uzen, becoming her Blade and Slave.

    Kyouka Uzen

Kyouka Uzen

Quirk: Chains of Eternity

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kyoka_visual.png

A fearless Chief of the Anti-Annihilation Alliance Seventh Unit: Nisan. After her entire hometown was erased off the map by an Annihilation Event, leaving her as the only survivor, she was taken in and adopted by Izuku and his wives and was raised alongside their children.

Kyouka's Quirk is Chains of Eternity. She can enslave any living being and turn them into her loyal servant, from animals to humans, and even Blades. The effect lasts until the death of either the Slave or Kyouka herself. Whatever Kyouka enslaves is greatly strengthened.

  • Clingy Jealous Girl: She does not like it when Tenka claims Yuuki is her boyfriend.
  • Happily Adopted: She's an official part of the Midoriya family, though she kept her original surname to respect her late family.

    Himari Azuma

Himari Azuma

Quirk: Learning

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/himari_visual.png

A powerful and versatile fighter of the Seventh Unit, she's one of Izuku's daughters with Fubuki Azuma.

Himari's Quirk is Noble Aspirations: "Learning". Once she's seen a Quirk, she can copy it and then set up the information on her smartphone for later use in battle.

  • Big, Screwed-Up Family: Her mother's side of the family is… messed up, put simply.
  • Blessed with Suck: Her Power Copying ability sounds awesome on paper, but her affinity with the Quirk she copies is an issue. Not only does a power that she has a poor affinity with become totally useless, but the ability she has the highest affinity with is Kyouka's, which has its own downsides.
  • Never Heard That One Before: She's frequently asked if she's related to the pro hero Phantom Thief, who's also a Quirk copyer.

    Shushu Suruga

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/yachiho_visual.png

Himari's older sister, one of Izuku's daughters with Fubuki, and a member of the Sixth Unit. She has a habit of belittling her sister for misguided reasons.

Yachiho's Quirk is "Eastern Engraving": Golden Hour. It's an ability that grants her control over time, allowing her to stop or rewind through time by making various poses, though only for a matter of seconds.

  • Cast from Stamina: Her Time Master powers are tied to her stamina. Every use drains her, meaning she cannot use it without limit.
  • Girlish Pigtails: The main difference between her and her younger sister is that she keeps her hair in pigtails.
  • Time Master: Her main power allows her to rewind time 5 seconds, so if she's not rendered unconscious with an attack, she can undo it, at the cost of her stamina. She can also freeze time for 5 seconds, allowing her to attack an opponent without them being able to dodge or block. Her penultimate form allows her to rewind time 10 seconds.

  • Badass Normal: He is Quirkless, and yet one of the strongest and most feared characters in the story.
  • Decomposite Character: His role as the Cloud Guardian will be given to Ren Yamashiro.

Fog Beasts

Former Humans

    As a whole
In rare cases, for uncertain reasons, people who are lost in the Black Fog and get caught in an Annihilation Event not only survive but become beings who are half human and half Fog Beast. They all have a few obvious monstrous traits, and black skin that looks much like skintight clothing. Numbering only a few dozen, to escape human experimentation, they hide underground in the Wastelands, moving from one Hidden Village to another.
  • Suicidal Overconfidence: Reborn bluntly tells them that they have no chance against the people who run the experiments on them. Given it's implied they have control over the Vindice, he has a point.

    Aoba Wakura

Aoba Wakura

Yuuki's long-lost older sister who disappeared in an Annihilation Event years ago.

  • The Beastmaster: She commands the powerful Fog Beast "One-Horn"; which she names Kidoumaru, and serves as her mount during battle.
  • Benevolent Boss: Even with all her quirks and flaws, the rest of the Former Humans in her camp adore her and happily obey her orders.
  • Big Sister Instinct: She really doesn't react well when Tenka claims she's dating Yuuki, believing the chief is a danger to him. She warms up to her once she sees that Tenka does care about Yuuki's feelings.

    Naon Yuno

Naon Yuno

Quirk: Concealed Beauty

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/naon_visual.png

A former human who is related to Mirio Togata. Her Quirk is Concealed Beauty, which allows her to pass through objects and living things of all sorts.

  • The Beast Master: She initially rides a large, six-limbed Fog Beast, which she named Akura. Akura acts as Naon's mode of transportation in battle.
  • Traumatic Superpower Awakening: Played with. Her Quirk was originally like Mirio's, with all the downsides that comes with it. But after becoming a human/Fog Beast hybrid, her Quirk changed from 'phasing' through anything to 'hiding' within anything while still being able to hear, smell, feel, taste, and breathe.
  • Swallowed Whole: She is fed, alive, to the larval form of the fourth "eight gods of thunder".

    Koko Zenibako

Koko Zenibako

A hotblooded former human who assaulted the Seventh Unit.

  • The Beast Master: She initially rides an enormous, furry Fog Beast, which she affectionately named Kuma.
  • Wound Licking: She ends up doing this to an injured and unconscious Yuuki. Justified though, since her saliva has healing properties.
  • Swallowed Whole: She is fed, alive, to the larval form of the fourth "eight gods of thunder".

"I won't lose to anyone! Neither in strength, nor in beauty!"

A powerful egg-shaped Fog Beast. After being fed Naon and Koko, she took on a more humanoid form.

  • Cannibalism Superpower: She gains the attributes and powers of the people she absorbs, allowing her to grow more powerful over time. This comes with the side effect of gaining the personalities of those she absorbs.

Other Mafia Families

    The Cavallone Family

Dino

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dinocavallonefull2585877.png

He was exactly like Tsuna before Reborn trained him and became the family leader he is today, earning him the title of "Bucking-Horse Dino" and leading the Cavallone Family to the rank of third most influential. Too bad every time his family isn't present he can completely fumble even the simplest of tasks. He definitely expected more out of Tsuna, remarking he "didn't have the aura" but eventually takes on the role of older brother to him and helps out in the future.

  • Birds of a Feather: Despite their rocky start, he and Tsuna quickly get along due to their shared experience under Reborn's torture slash tutoring.
  • Younger Than He Looks: He's actually in his early 20s, but looks older than that.
