Introduced in Book 1

    Katsuki Bakugou

Katsuki Bakugou

A brash and vulgar boy who believes highly of himself because of his hero potential. He is Izuku's childhood friend turned tormentor who also goes after Yuugi. His Quirk is Explosion.

  • Adaptational Wimp: In canon, he was regarded as a formidable hero hopeful and rarely lost a fight, even to adult villains. In this story, he badly loses against people who know how to fight (Jounouchi) along with Mental Quirk users.
  • The Bully: To Izuku. He also targets Yuugi since they always hang out together.
  • Bullying the Disabled: He likes to hurt Izuku for being Quirkless and taunts Yuugi for being autistic.
  • The Bus Came Back: In Book 2, he returns during the later half when the Yuuei-First Days Arc takes off.
  • Dehumanizing Insult: He constantly calls Izuku "Deku" as a way of calling him useless for his lack of Quirk.
  • Demoted to Extra: He isn't as involved in the story after Izuku befriends Yuugi who makes every effort to avoid him. It also helps that Inko transferred Izuku to a different class to stop the bullying and how Yami practically traumatized him with a Mind Crush attack. After the incident, he doesn't make any appearances for the rest of Book 1.
  • Enemy Mine: In Book 2 Chapter 20, he and Jounouchi work together in keeping a concussed Kirishima safe during the Sports Festival Invasion.
  • Foil: To Hirutani. Both of them were former friends to the main protagonists and are perfectly content with terrorizing them when given the opportunity (Bakugou with Izuku and Hirutani with Jounouchi). The main difference is that Hirutani still wants Jounouchi as a "friend" while Bakugou views Izuku as his personal punching bag. And while Hirutani uses delinquent stooges to fight Jounouchi for him, Bakugou prefers to be more direct in harming Izuku. Additionally, Hirutani dreams of making it big as a criminal leader while Bakugou dreams of being the next Number One Hero.
  • Glass Cannon: He easily crumbles like paper after Jounouchi beats him up with two simple moves.
  • Hair-Trigger Temper: It's very easy to make him lash out like a baby.
  • Having a Blast: His Quirk involves making explosions from his hands.
  • Hey, You!: He still gives people insulting nicknames. Such as Deku for Izuku, the r-word for Yuugi and Corgi ass for Jounouchi.
  • Ignored Epiphany: In Book 2, he yells at Yuugi proclaiming that he isn't afraid of him in spite of what Yuugi and Yami did to him three years ago. He even gets mad at the boy for not being scared of him like before.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: He is the first victim of Yami's Mind Crush attack which would have left him brain dead if he wasn't treated by expert empath doctors. Additionally, using his explosion Quirk to harm Izuku has resulted in him being cited for illegal Quirk usage which is now on his permanent record.
  • Oh, Crap!: He gets a moment of shock when he realizes how Jounouchi learned to fight people with hand-related Quirks.
  • Ordered Apology: After Bakugou voices a desire of learning how to fight from the street rat after losing to him twice, Jounouchi orders him to apologize to Izuku for the leg incident. And after the Sports Festival Invasion, he gives a short, vague apology to Izuku and also accepts Yuugi's warning of never getting another chance to hurt Izuku if he does anything like that again.
  • Politically Incorrect "Hero": He purposefully calls Yuugi retarded whenever they meet.
  • Sour Outside, Sad Inside: In spite of his hostile and aggressive personality, Yuugi could tell that he has some sadness to him given his reliance on so many mirrors in his Soul Room mixed with the fact that he had no authority figures to represent him during their Pre-Yuuei conference meeting.
  • Spoiled Brat: Growing up in a society that valued him for his Quirk and kept him from facing consequences, Bakugou grew up as an egotist who believes everything should go his way and whines whenever he's beaten by someone superior than him.
  • Starter Villain: The first main antagonist that Yuugi and Izuku have to deal with throughout their childhood.
  • Unskilled, but Strong: As powerful as his explosions are, he actually fails when it comes to fighting with just his fists. And after losing to Jounouchi twice, Bakugou asks for his help to improve in that area.
  • We Used to Be Friends: Was once Izuku's first best friend ever. But everything changed when Bakugou got his Quirk and began to hate Izuku for being Quirkless and for believing that the green child was looking down on him.

    Chouno-Sensei

Chouno-Sensei

Yuugi's elementary school teacher with a haughty and condescending nature. Her Quirk is Facial Makeover.

  • Bullying the Disabled: She purposefully targets Yuugi for actions that relate to his autism. Such as taking away his medically approved toys or chastising him for stimming in class.
  • Didn't Think This Through: Apparently she never considered that marking Yuugi's test scores as incorrect could eventually be noticed by either his friends or Jii-chan which in turn would lead to her firing.
  • Facial Horror: Her Quirk involves her face melting or changing shape whenever she gets agitated.
  • Hoist by Her Own Petard: While antagonizing Yuugi, she showed blatant favoritism to class genius Tokage. It's through Tokage reviewing Yuugi's homework does Yuugi and Izuku realize that she's been failing him which would result in her firing.
  • Jerkass to One: She enjoys tormenting Yuugi out of all of her students.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: She's fired after she's exposed for purposefully failing Yuugi despite the boy answering the academic content correctly.
  • Sadist Teacher: She constantly punishes Yuugi for petty or nonexistent reasons. From scolding him in front of the class, forcefully taking his stimming toys, to even failing him on purpose despite receiving excellent scores on his tests and homework.
  • The Smurfette Principle: The only woman antagonist among the series' Rogues Gallery.

    Hirutani

Hirutani

An amateur gang leader who was a former friend of Jounouchi. He has a cruel and sadistic nature as he's driven to bring back his friend regardless of his opinions. His Quirk is Unknown.

  • Ain't Too Proud to Beg: Stain reveals that his last words were him begging to be spared.
  • Arc Villain: He "replaces" Bakugou as the next main villain from Chapter 11 onwards.
  • Contrasting Replacement Character: To Katsuki Bakugou. Both of them were former friends to the main protagonists and have no issue with inflicting violence on them. But while Bakugou has denounced Izuku as a friend and directly bullies him, Hirutani still desires Jounouchi's "friendship"/loyalty and sends armies of delinquents after him on his behalf. And while Bakugou is motivated to become a Pro Hero, Hirutani is driven to become an influential criminal leader.
  • Crazy Jealous Guy: He is appalled when Jounouchi decides to cut ties with him and sends hordes of stooges to force him to rejoin his group.
  • Evil Former Friend: Subverted with the evil part since he was always a delinquent. But he was this to Jounouchi before the blonde decided to move on with his life.
  • Evil Is Not a Toy: He sought out the Hero Killer Stain and insisted that it would be a privilege for a murderer like him to join his ranks. Stain kills him and his remaining forces on the stop for thinking they could ever work side by side.
  • Evil Mentor: Jounouchi briefly mentions that Hirutani taught him how to fight during his delinquent days. Word of God also states that Hirutani taught him about criminal hierarchies along with the Legend of All For One.
  • The Ghost: He is only referenced by the boys but never makes an actual appearance in the story.
  • If I Can't Have You…: Heavily implied. Hirutani's failed attempt at recruiting Stain to terrorize Yuugi and Jounouchi would suggest that he decided to kill his former childhood friend.
  • Improbable Weapon User: He and his gang members use modified toys as weapons. Such as his iconic yo-yos and even fidget spinners.
  • Non-Action Big Bad: Hirutani prefers to send his cronies to fight, or beat up, Jounouchi rather then confront him in person. Although it's implied that he has directly faced the Super Pal Trio off-screen.
  • Self-Disposing Villain: He tries to hire Stain to go after Jounouchi and his friends. This resulted in the Hero Killer sending him to the Shadow Realm with his blades.
  • Social Climber: His prime motivation is to establish himself as a criminal leader who's on par with the yakuza or major villains.
  • Smug Snake: He prides himself as a rising crime leader who can influence anyone into following him. But Jounouchi knows that he's just a Paper Tiger as his followers and rivals are becoming aware of how weak he really is.

    Sasorigumo

Sasorigumo

A shady shoe merchant that Hirutani has tried to recruit for his valuable expertise. His Quirk is Arachnid Manipulation.

  • Adaptation Relationship Overhaul: He and Hirutani have something of an acquaintanceship in the story whereas they never interreacted in the manga.
  • Bad People Abuse Animals: Yami can tell that he doesn't treat the arachnids he manipulates with the respect they deserve. Case in point with him keeping a scorpion in a shoe.
  • Hidden Depths: Jounouchi reveals that he did countless jobs for multiple people and has a reputation as a valuable ally in the criminal circuit.
  • Meaningful Name: His name is made of the Japanese translations for scorpion (sasori) and spider (gumo).
  • Mind Rape: Another victim of Yami's Mind Crush attacks. Only this time, Yami made it so that he would be too traumatized to use his Arachnid Quirk ever again.
  • Named In The Adaptation: He was nameless in the manga but was given the name Sasorigumo for this story.
  • Pest Controller: His Quirk allows him to manipulate spiders and scorpions into attacking his enemies.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: It's never mentioned what became of him or if he's still involved in the criminal circuit after his traumatic encounter with Yami.
  • You Owe Me: He agrees to target Yuugi if only to get a solid favor out of Hirutani.

    Madara

Madara

A meddling middle school boy who constantly tries to get the Super Pal Trio in trouble during school hours. His Quirk is Unknown.

  • Abhorrent Admirer: He becomes one to Jounouchi after the street rat tried to kiss him as a means of scaring him off. It ends up having an opposite effect as Madara tries to kiss him back.
  • Loving Bully: Downplayed example. He's not really a bully but more of a nuisance but after Jounouchi kisses him, Madara shows romantic intention and isn't even bothered when the blonde punches him.
  • Original Character: There's no word on whether he's a canon character from either series.
  • Villainy-Free Villain: Compared to the rest of the Rogues Gallery, Madara is the most harmless foe who keeps trying to bust the boys for minor offenses.

    Stain

Stain

A twisted hooligan who's made a reputation for himself as the infamous Hero Killer. Disgusted by the decay of modern society, he vows to slay anyone that he believes is contributing to the decay. His Quirk is Bloodcurdle.

  • Adaptational Early Appearance: He makes his presence known before Izuku even enters UA.
  • Black-and-White Insanity: He has extreme standards for those who are beneficial to society's morality and those who are a danger. Anyone who fits the latter is meant to be killed by his blades.
  • Blood Magic: His Quirk allows him to paralyze any target if he ingests their blood.
  • Climax Boss: He's the main villain that gains the most focus in the last chapters of Book 1.
  • Death by Irony: His whole MO involves cleansing the metaphorical decay that's ruining Hero Society. He ends up dying after ingesting Yuugi's corrupted blood which destroyed his body from the inside.
  • Emotion Bomb: He also has empathetic projection which allows him to paralyze others with fear. Word of God admittedly gave him this power based on the canon scene where the heroes were paralyzed by his intense mood.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: His habit of drinking his target's blood would cost him his life as he ingests Yuugi's contaminated blood which kills him from the inside.
  • A Mind Is a Terrible Thing to Read: Based on Nagare's account, Stain's mindscape is considered so dark and disgusting that it makes him literally vomit after entering it.
  • Not-So-Well-Intentioned Extremist: He views himself as the solution to cure the decay and corruption of modern hero society. And he does so by promoting his exaggerated standards of heroism and killing anyone who doesn't fit them, whether they're a civilian, hero or wannabe villain.
  • Psycho Knife Nut: A serial killer who wields carries an arsenal of swords and knives.
  • Undignified Death: Stain is killed after receiving scratch wounds from Kuriboh which results in a fatal allergic reaction. Book 2, however, reveals that his true cause of death was ingesting Yuugi's overreactive blood which destroyed him from the inside.
  • Would Hurt a Child: He has no issue using violence against Yuugi and Jounouchi for getting in his way. He even targeted Seto Kaiba who was only fourteen years old but is the CEO of KaibaCorp.

Introduced in Book 2

    The Eight Precepts of Death

  • An Arm and a Leg: Overhaul loses both his arms after failing to escape Shigaraki's Nomu.
  • Barrier Warrior: Tengai's Quirk allows him to create defensive barriers.

  • Death by Adaptation: Shin Nemoto is killed by one of the Yuuki members during the new Yakuza Raid while Soramitsu Tabe and Chronostasis are disintegrated by Shigaraki a few days later.
  • How the Mighty Have Fallen: Following Eri's escape and Mako revealing about their Anti-Quirk plan, Overhaul and his men are immediately captured and their equipment confiscated by the authorities. It gets worse when Shigaraki and Dabi break him out of prison if only to have him formally meet All For One while losing his arms in the process.
  • Hypocrite: Overhaul is all for eradicating Quirks while declaring that they're a pox on society but he and his group should still be allowed to keep their respective Quirks.

  • Chronic Backstabbing Disorder: They were convinced by Seto to betray their former boss Gozaburo by transferring their shares to the Child Prodigy. But now they want the corporation for themselves and are doing everything in their power to eliminate Seto.
  • Disproportionate Retribution: Otaki, the penguin loving accountant of the group, has attempted to fire Gang Orca from KaibaCorp's Support division eight times due to orcas being the natural predators of penguins.
  • Evil Old Folks: All 5 members are middle-aged but Oshita (the freaky fish guy) stands out as the oldest among them.
  • Fantastic Racism: They don't have a favorable opinion over Pro Heroes with Mutant Quirks.
  • Non-Action Big Bad: Given their status as high ranking businessmen, they won't be involved in directly fighting the heroes to further their agenda.
  • Put on a Bus: Thanks to their kidnapping scheme backfiring along with Pegasus losing his half of Industrial Illusions, the Big 5 have no further influence in KaibaCorp and are kicked to the curb.
  • Wounded Gazelle Gambit: Oshita gains a hip injury and needed to be taken to the hospital. It was a ploy to draw everyone's attention so no one would notice Mokuba being abducted.

  • Berserk Button: He doesn't take kindly to people speaking ill of his departed wife Cecelia.
  • Beware the Mind Reader: His Quirk involves mind reading as he attempts this on Yuugi and Seto. Thankfully, Yami intervenes and keeps him from invading his privacy. As for Seto, his lizard companions serve as an unofficial barrier that keeps him from having his mind read.

  • The Friend Nobody Likes: Despite being the president of Industrial Illusions, nobody on I-Island enjoys having him around.

  • Good Scars, Evil Scars: Instead of a Millennium Eye, he now has exophthalmos which resulted in gaining surgical scars where his left eye is.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: His efforts to sabotage Kaiba's company with his nefarious schemes result in him being exposed for his crimes and having to give up his half of the company's shares to the boys.
  • Non-Action Big Bad: Much like the Big 5, he'd rather have his cronies attack the Kaiba boys and their associates as to avoid tarnishing his reputation.

  • Addiction-Powered: He steals some of Dr. Aknadin's Quirk enhancement drugs to give him a power boost as he attacks I-Island.
  • Beyond Redemption: While inside his Soul Room and seeing how corrupt and twisted it is, Yami somberly remarks that it isn't possible to repair his room or salvage the metal hooligan.
  • The Brute: Tends to beat people senseless if his boss commands him to.
  • Climax Boss: He usurps Pegasus' position as the main villain of the I-Island Expo Arc.
  • De-power: Thanks to Yuugi erasing one of the corrupt doors in his Soul Room, Wolfram becomes weaker in battle and loses control over his Quirks.
