The Ishtar Family

    Rishid Ishtar-Hakase 

Rishid Ishtar-Hakase

A serious and dedicated Quirk psychologist. He becomes Yuugi's official Quirk counselor in the hopes of studying his strange Quirk while helping the boy understand his true capabilities. His Quirk is Perception.


  • Adaptational Heroism: In the original series, he loyally went along with his younger brother's revenge scheme and didn't mind endangering Yuugi and his friends. In this story, he becomes Yuugi's counselor and does everything in his power to keep him safe. Especially from the law.
    • However, in Book 2, he appears via Kurogiri's portal to pick up an unconscious Shigaraki meaning tha he has some connections with the villains. But he does have some morals as he doesn't squeal about finding Yuugi and his friends during the attack.
  • Berserk Button: He loses composure if anyone insults his family.
  • But Now I Must Go: In Book 2 Chapter 4, he indirectly tells Yuugi that he will no longer be able to meet with him as his counselor. According to his sister, he has a bad habit of not being direct with leaving others which leads to mixed messages.
  • The Empath: He has an Empathy Quirk that allows him to change how people perceive him.
  • Goal in Life: To find his lost brother Marik and make the Ishtar family complete.
  • Good Scars, Evil Scars: He has some red scars on his face from being attacked by his adopted father and brother but is a genuine good guy.
  • Grey-and-Gray Morality: In Book 2 Chapter 20, he's shown to have some allegiance with the League of Villains and uses his Quirk to neutralize Bakugou. That said, he doesn't say a word about spotting Yuugi and friends to his villainous coworkers.
  • Happily Adopted: Zigzagged. His adopted mother brought him to live with her new husband and came to love and appreciate Ishizu and Marik. But he was also neglected and even abused by his adopted father. It was made even worse when the mother died after Marik's birth.
  • Hidden Depths: Due to his work involving children's safety, Rishid is also a mandated reporter.
  • Near-Death Experience: In Book 2, he's ambushed by a mysterious biker and is given a nasty stab wound. Fortunately he's healed thanks to Eri.
  • The Shrink: He is a licensed Quirk psychologist and becomes Yuugi's quirk counselor after Yami mentally attacked Bakugou during his emergence.
  • Token Good Teammate: He's affiliated with the morally dubious Hero Public Safety Commission but refuses to let Yuugi fall into their clutches.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: In Chapter 17, he scolds Yuugi for using his Quirk to enter Nagare's mind. Even if he was trying to save him, Rishid explains that it was still dangerous for him to have attempted and the boy could have very well died if he wasn't prepared.
  • The Workaholic: He works non-stop when it comes to Quirk counseling and needs constant reminders to take breaks.

    Ishizu Ishtar 

Ishizu Ishtar

A serene and thoughtful woman who studies and creates theses surrounding Soul Rooms. She becomes an unofficial consultant for Yuugi's Quirk counseling after the bizarre circumstances revolving around his Quirk's appearance. Her Quirk is Set the Mood.


  • Always Second Best: Ishizu is aware that her role in the family is never enough. Her father continued to sire children until he gained a son in Marik and Rishid refuses to give up his quest to find Marik which implies that she isn't enough for him or good enough to lead the family.
  • Did You Just Flip Off Cthulhu?: After having a very bad day involving Yuugi, Ishizu talks back to and uses her Quirk on Hawks, a Top 3 Hero who showed up with questionable intentions for the boy.
  • Disabled in the Adaptation: She suffered a stroke and uses a cane to move around. She also mentions having dyslexia.
  • The Empath: She can regulate a person's emotions to help them feel more at ease.
  • Forgetful Jones: She admits to having a hard time remembering things after her stroke.
  • Ms Exposition: She often describes to Yuugi or his grandfather about historical events relating to Quirks along with the dynamics of the Yuuki family and her own.
  • Noodle Incident: She admits that she had to break up with two of Rishid's romantic partners on his behalf.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business:
    • While normally level-headed and sensitive, in Book 2 Chapter 2, she becomes furious after Yuugi innocently notes that Mana and Rishid have the same eyes which implies a relation between the two. It's a topic she isn't fond of and desperately hopes that Yuugi will not involve himself with.
    • Then in Chapter 13 of the same book, she gets into a swearing frenzy after entering the Realm of One For All and how Yuugi knows more about their history and relation to All For One.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: In Chapter 4 of Book 2, she reminds Yuugi that it isn't his responsibility to be involved in villain activities that involve Soul Rooms due to how dangerous it can be. She strongly encourages him to avoid those types of events if possible and to inform her or the Yuuki family to deal with them instead.
  • Secret-Keeper: Played With in Book 2. She discovers the Realm of One For All and how Yuugi and Izuku are related to it. Despite this, both boys refuse to share anything about how Izuku gained access to the realm in the first place.
  • Smart Girl: She's a responsible college student who's writing her master’s dissertation on atypical soul room presentations.
  • The Unfavorite: She mentions that she was the first born child but her father wasn't satisfied with having a daughter as the head of the family. So he neglected her in order to obtain a son.

    Shādi 

Shādi

An elusive man with an interest in studying the medical side of Quirks by any means necessary. His Quirk is Mindscape Manipulation.


  • Clashing Cousins: Subverted. He's described as being a favorite cousin to Ishizu and Rishid by making time for them and helping them fight back against their abusive monster father.
  • Faking the Dead: He supposedly died after the Hero Commission and the Yuukis hunted him for murdering several test subjects. But Yuugi knows that he's still alive and wandering around.
  • For Science!: His desire to study Quirks and their medical properties means that he has no limits he won't cross. Case in point, he ripped out the mindscapes of several people for the sake of research.
  • Journey to the Center of the Mind: Just like Yuugi, he was able to access a person's mindscape and manipulate them to his preferences. He's even capable of ripping them out of a person with relative ease.
  • Related in the Adaptation: In the original series, he had no relation to the Ishtar Siblings apart from the ongoing Millennium Item conflict. In here, he's stated to have been their favorite older cousin.
  • The Spook: Not counting his relations with the Ishtars and Yuukis, there's very little known about Shadi or his motivations apart from studying Quirks.

The Yuuki Family

    In General 

  • Arranged Marriage: They frequently organize arrange marriages for their younger family members to strengthen their bonds with other families or to create children with more powerful Quirks.
  • Been There, Shaped History: Ishizu mentions that the Yuukis played a part in advocating for Quirk acceptance when the world suddenly developed Quirks and struggled to accept them.
  • The Clan: A family of high ranking Empathy Quirk users who have a long history of influence both before and after the introduction of Quirks.
  • The Empath: The family specializes in Empathy Control.
  • Family Eye Resemblance: It's frequently mentioned that a majority of the family members have violet colored eyes.
  • The Family That Slays Together: Downplayed. Nagare admits that the Yuukis are more than willing to kill anyone that would be considered dangerous or threatening. Though they only do it for specific cases rather then on a whim.
  • I Owe You My Life: After Yuugi protected Juudai from being spotted by the League of Villains during a public attack, Nagare reveals that the Clan in general is indebted to him.
  • Related in the Adaptation: Many of the members are Yu-Gi-Oh characters from the Millennium World Arc who were only part of the royal court. Here they're now official family members with an allegiance to the Yuuki name. Even Juudai from the GX sequel is made into a family member.
  • Thicker Than Water: Like many powerful family units, the Yuuki Clan prioritizes the needs of the family above individual desires. Even if a coming of age youth were to leave the family, they would inevitably come back to support them.

    Mahado Yuuki 

Mahado Yuuki

A diligent man who is Nagare's older brother. His Quirk is unknown.


  • Adaptational Job Change: He was a court magician in the Millennium World Arc but is now a Yuuei teacher who's specialty is Foundational Hero Studies in this story.
  • Foil: To his brother Nagare. While Nagare is an Original Character known for being immature and crude, Mahado is presented as more mature and serious who came from the original franchise. And while Nagare is willing to be involved in Yuugi's life for the sake of his father Kyuudai, Mahado makes it clear to the boy that he wants little to no involvement in his personal life.
  • Foolish Sibling, Responsible Sibling: The older, sensible brother to his immature, frustrating brother Nagare.
  • Not So Above It All: Despite being presented as a mature man with a good moral compass, Mahado is still aligned with the Yuuki Clan and is willing to follow through with the family's will no matter how self-serving or questionable it is.
  • Parental Substitute: He's Mana's adopted father.
  • Profanity Police: He detests Nagare for swearing in front of his daughter.
  • The Stoic: Is always shown in a serious mood.

    Mana Yuuki 

Mana Yuuki

A spirited, friendly girl who is also Mahado's adopted daughter. Her Quirk is Feedback Loop.


  • Age Lift: She was 13 in the original years but is now 10 years old here.
  • Ambiguously Brown: She's described as having brown skin and dark brown hair, just like her canon counterpart.
  • Crocodile Tears: Has mastered this skill and can use it when needed of her.
  • Damsel in Distress: In Chapter 3, she's attacked by a Trigger-fueled villain and needed Yuugi to help her out of her traumatic state.
  • Emotion Control: Her Quirk allows her to take in emotions from anyone around her and return them back but amplified.
  • Hand Signals: She knows Japanese Sign Language.
  • Motor Mouth: She has a habit of talking non-stop when it comes to any given subject.
  • Noodle Incident: Nagare recalls a time that she became quite furious when someone stole her pocky.
  • Sweet Tooth: She enjoys eating sugary foods with parfaits being her favorite treat.
  • Tagalong Kid: Mana is the second youngest member of the Yuuki Clan by 10 years. First being Judaii.
  • You Can See Me?: Her Quirk allows her to see Yami while Yuugi is present.

    Aknadin Yuuki 

Aknadin Yuuki

An accredited medical specialist who works for the Hero Commission. His Quirk is Projective Empathy.


  • Age-Gap Romance: Nagare claims that his past three relationships have been with women who are decades younger then him.
  • Black Sheep: He admits to being one for the Yuuki Clan as he works under the controversial Hero Commission rather then following the Clan's preference of him going into politics.
  • Didn't Think This Through: His patient is Wolfram and he collaborated with Pegasus to hire him as a bodyguard so he can visit I-Island and receive his medications. What he didn't count on was for the brute to betray everyone and carry out his own agenda.
  • Disappeared Dad: He's implied to be Rishid's true father. But given Rishid's backstory, he most likely abandoned his mother and went on to sire other children only to abandon them later on.
  • The Empath: Just like his family, he's an Empathic Quirk user who can change how people perceive him.
  • Eyepatch of Power: He wears a white medical patch over his left eye and is a remarkable Quirk user.
  • Famed In-Story: According to Ishizu, every major study involving autoimmune reactions and how they relate to Quirks can be traced to his research.
  • The Medic: He's an immunologist who's licensed to help heroes and civilians with unstable Quirks. Yuugi even admits that he's a genuinely good doctor in Chapter 8.
  • Team Member in the Adaptation: Is an official member of the infamous Hero Public Safety Commission.
  • Villain with Good Publicity: On the surface, he's recognized for his extensive research which has contributed to multiple fields of study involving Quirks and autoimmune reactions. But past the surface, he's a morally ill man who's willing to make deals with even more heinous figures to advance his own resources and influence.

    Juudai Yuuki 

Juudai Yuuki

A cheerful little boy who gets lost very easily and is also Yuugi's little cousin. His Quirk is Precision.


  • Age Lift: Played with. He's introduced in the story as a four-year old whereas he was a teenager in his original show. However, his sequel show did take place several years after the original series so he's within the right age.
  • Attention Deficit-Ooh Birds!: He has a special interest in birds and feathers. This causes trouble with his family as he'll easily wander away to look at a bird or feather which leads him getting lost.
  • Cheerful Child: A walking ball of sunshine who fills this trope to a T.
  • Children Are Innocent: His family hasn't taught him about the brutality of death and instead taught him about the Shadow Realm.
  • No Sense of Direction: Has a bad habit of getting lost whenever his special interests are involved. Justified since he's still a child.
  • Super-Senses: His Quirk allows him to take notice of hard-to-see details in anything he looks at. This also lets him detect the presence of Quirk(s) in a person's body.

    Kyuudai Yuuki/Interweave 

Kyuudai Yuuki

Yuugi's estranged father and Pro Hero who holds a high rank in the Yuuki Clan. His Quirk is Emotion Core.


  • Dating What the Family Hates: It's frequently brought up that Kyuudai was criticized by his family members for marrying Shougi since she couldn't offer anything of value to their Clan.
  • Did You Think I Can't Feel?: He doesn't say it directly, but his cousin Nagare confirms that Kyuudai genuinely loved Shougi and was distraught when she died. And in spite of him choosing not to raise Yuugi, he does care enough about his well-being to send Nagare to watch over him. It's even mentioned that he had a breakdown when Yuugi's life was in peril.
  • Disappeared Dad: He abandoned Yuugi because he didn't want to raise an autistic child mixed with his family disapproving of his relationship with Shougi.
  • The Empath: His Quirk allows him to find the base emotion of any given conflict and manipulate it to his discretion.
  • I Love You Because I Can't Control You: According to Sugoroku, the reason he fell for Shougi was for her righteous attitude and how she refused to let him get away with his immature actions without consequences.
  • No Poker Face: It's frequently mentioned how he sucks at keeping a good poker face.
  • Parental Favoritism: Played With. Because of his ability to find the core problem of any conflict, Kyuudai was regarded as one of the favorite and even popular kids among his generation. Though there's no mention if there were any siblings or cousins who were considered the unfavorite as a result.
