Heroes

    General
  • Action Girl: The girls are just as capable in a fight as the guys are.
  • A Day in the Limelight: Almost all characters get their moments of focus.
  • Character Exaggeration: Some of their canon traits are exaggerated to make them more distinctive.
  • Everyone Is Bi: Relationships or crushes between characters of the same gender are just as normal as those between different genders, and multiple characters show interest in both boys and girls at some point.
  • Interspecies Friendship: They come from many different universes, resulting in most of them being completely different species, and they quickly become close friends despite their differences.
  • The Power of Friendship: The friendship students are the most obvious examples, but it seems that this trope extends to the rest of the group.

    Gallus
A somewhat cocky griffon friendship student.

    Ocellus
A shy changeling friendship student.
  • Nice Girl: Like her canon counterpart, she is very kind and polite despite her shy nature.
  • Voluntary Shapeshifting: Like all changelings, she has this ability. It works somewhat differently from canon, though, as she is able to disguise herself not only as animals or other people, but even as inanimate objects.

    Sandbar
An earthpony friendship student.
  • Muggle: Is an earthpony without any particularly special abilities.
  • Puppy Love: Enters a relationship with Gallus at one point.

    Silverstream
A hippogriff friendship student who is very close with Selene.
  • Best Friend: In addition to her bond with the other friendship students, she is also one of Selene's closest companions.
  • Character Focus: Out of the friendship students, she's the one who gets the most screentime.
  • Genki Girl: Remains her sweet and excitable self despite the many difficulties she and the rest of the students have been through.
  • Voluntary Shapeshifting: Like the rest of her species.
  • Puppy Love: Has a crush on Gallus for a while.

     Smolder
A dragon friendship student (although not the same kind as the others).
  • Deadpan Snarker: She and Gallus are the snarkiest of the friendship students.
  • Our Dragons Are Different: An interesting case of multiple types occurring in the same story: she's a completely different type than the other dragons shown due to her originating from a different universe.

     Yona
A yak friendship student.

     Kanna
A dragon, and Miss Kobayashi and Tohru's adoptive daughter.
  • Age Lift: While in canon she seems to be an elementary school student, she seems to be a middle schooler here.
  • Badass Adorable: Like in canon, she's small, cute, and still kicks ass.
  • Extreme Omnivore: Eats an entire jar of magically-enlarged fireflies when at Nise Tsuki's house, much to the latter's dismay.
  • Shock and Awe: Her main magical ability.
  • Sweet Tooth: While she's a Big Eater in general, she especially loves sweets. In the first chapter, she squeals in delight upon hearing that Kris's mom made pie.

    Saikawa
Kanna's human best friend.
  • Age Lift: Like Kanna, she's aged up from elementary to middle school.
  • Last-Name Basis: As in the manga, she's only ever referred to as "Saikawa", rather than her first name, Riko.
  • Token Human: She, Kris, and Miss Kobayashi are some of the only humans in the cast (up until the section involving the castle of the star spirits).
  • Puppy Love: She still has a crush on Kanna, and it seems to be reciprocated here.

    Selene
An Original Character and the adoptive daughter of Lucoa and Fafnir.
  • Family Theme Naming: Like her adoptive parents, she is named after a mythological figure, although unlike them, she doesn't seem to actually be the figure in question.
  • Happily Adopted: She and her adoptive mother Lucoa are very close and get along well.
  • I Just Want to Have Friends: When she is first introduced, her only friend is Kanna, but she quickly bonds with the other characters and becomes a part of the main cast.
  • Nice Girl: She is kind and thoughtful, albeit usually quiet.
  • Original Character: One of a handful of these that appear in the story.
  • Religious and Mythological Theme Naming: Is named after the Greek goddess of the moon.
  • Waif Prophet: She is described as small and pale and receives prophecies/visions on the night of the full moon.

    Ilulu
A dragon with fire magic. She turns out to be Selene's sister later on in the story.

    Elma
A dragon with fire magic.
  • Age Lift: In canon, she works in an office, meaning that she is presumably an adult. Here, she is aged down and is a student.
  • Making a Splash: Her main magical ability.
  • Those Two Guys: With Ilulu.

    Lucoa
A goddess, and Selene's adoptive mother.
  • Action Mom: Is Selene's adoptive mother and frequently fights alongside her daughter.
  • Adaptational Badass: In canon, she was merely an All-Powerful Bystander. Here, she partakes in battles alongside the other members of the main cast.
  • Amicable Exes: With Fafnir.
  • De-power: Her magic is drained through draemon Magitek and is used to resurrect both Fukase and Junko Enoshima.
  • White Mage: She primarily serves as a healer and defender, but can still put up a strong offense when needed.
  • Out of Focus: Doesn't get quite as much focus after her magic is taken.

    Fafnir
A dragon who is Selene's adoptive father.

    Nise Tsuki
A dragon with connections to Selene's family.

     Tohru
A dragon who is married to Miss Kobayashi.

    Miss Kobayashi
A human who is married to Tohru.
  • Apathetic Teacher: Doesn't like her position as substitute headmistress very much and calls off classes frequently.
  • Demoted to Extra: Like her wife, she was one of the main characters in the original show, but doesn't have much to do here.
  • I Need a Freaking Drink: In Chapter 4, she says that she needs a drink "as much as [she] needs [her] caffeine right now".
    • Happens again in Chapter 46, where, after seeing the aftermath of the party, she asks Tohru if there are any drinks left.

    Miku/Megami Raito
A Vocaloid who died and was transformed into an angelic being by Lucoa.
  • Even the Loving Hero Has Hated Ones: She loves everyone, except for draemons and those who work with them.
  • Gold and White Are Divine: She wears a white and gold outfit and is an angel.
  • Incorruptible Pure Pureness: When she becomes Megami Raito, her angelic nature protects her from corruption.
  • The Chosen One: Her transformation into Megami Raito was prophesied sixteen years before the story's start.
  • The Heart: She's one of the nicest characters in the story and shows compassion towards nearly everyone. She's also usually the one to break up disagreements between the heroes.

    Luka
A Vocaloid who was at one point brainwashed by Cozy Glow and Jevil.
  • Femme Fatale: When she was a villain, she often used her good looks to her advantage.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Once she is freed from the control of the villains, she rejoins the side of good.
  • Rose-Haired Sweetie: Has pink hair and is a genuinely nice person when not under Cozy Glow and Jevil's control.
