    Scrooge
Voiced by: Takahiro Sakurai (Japanese)

The protagonist of Guilty Crown: Lost Christmas, he was a subject of Da'ath's human experiments until he escaped from its facility with Carol. His right arm has a functionally defective form of 'King's Power'. Unlike Shu, he is unable to pull out voids from anyone but Carol because as soon as his hand touches others' body, they would start to undergo crystallization due to invasion by apocalypse virus. He suffers from amnesia as a result of Da'ath's experiments, and throughout the story he seeks information about Da'ath all the while making his escape, in order to rediscover his identity. He has a cool, cruel personality that licenses him to kill, and is vengeful against Da'ath.

  • Amnesiac Hero: He can't remember anything prior to escaping the Da'ath research facility with Carol.
  • Anti-Hero: He's the main protagonist, but he has no qualms about torturing/killing his enemies and uses his Touch of Death without any hesitation. His goals are also centered around getting revenge on Da'ath and finding out what they did to him.
  • Back from the Dead: He was a failed experiment who died of asphyxiation, but he somehow managed to come back to life just as the researchers were about to perform an autopsy on his body.
  • Bio-Augmentation: On top of giving him the Touch of Death, the Void Genome he received also gave him Super-Strength, Super-Speed, and Super-Senses.
  • Blessed with Suck: He has the Power of Kings, but it's defective and he can't touch anyone with his right hand except Carol.
  • Brooding Boy, Gentle Girl: According to Carol, he was always very moody. Carol balances him out.
  • Contrasting Prequel Main Character: To Shu. They appear similar, but Scrooge is older and much more merciless. He lacks the "normal" life and friend group that Shu had, resulting in him heavily relying on Carol as his support. His Void Genome also contrasts Shu's as it is defective, slowly killing him, and kills anyone he takes a Void from.
  • Doomed by Canon: It was known what his destiny was going to be since Lost Christmas, as it takes place 10 years before the anime.
  • Driven to Suicide: Implied. It doesn't matter whether you picked the "Atonement" ending or the "Retribution" ending, it's heavily implied that he gave up on living upon finding out who Yet To Come was.
  • Foregone Conclusion: In Lost Christmas, Scrooge's death was a given, since this is what the story revolves around.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: He and Carol sacrificed themselves by pulling out the "Guilty Crown" void to stop the first Apocalypse in the True End.
  • Huge Guy, Tiny Girl: Carol barely reaches his chest and he can carry her around with ease.
  • In the Hood: He wears a red coat and always has the hood up.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: At the end of the game, Scrooge is crushed by an overwhelming sense of guilt when he remembers what he did to Carol and realizes what he's been doing to their unborn child throughout the story.
  • Official Couple: He and Carol were already lovers prior to him losing his memories.
  • Only Known by Their Nickname: He doesn't have a name, so he goes by the code name given to him at the research facility.
  • Prophetic Name: Scrooge ends up having a similar journey to his namesake as he meets each "ghost" of Christmas and ends up redeeming himself for all he's done by sacrificing himself to end Lost Christmas.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: His red eyes signify his cruel nature.
  • Revenge: He wants to exact revenge on Da'ath for the experiments they performed on him. If you pick "Retribution" at the end of the game, he and Carol get their revenge by going on a rampage.
  • Together in Death: While it's ambiguous as to whether or not he and Carol died stopping Lost Christmas, this is their inevitable fate given their relationship.
  • Touch of Death: His Void Genome is out of control and causes anyone he touches with his right hand to die immediately from the Apocalypse Virus. The only person who is immune to this is Carol.
  • What Is This Feeling?: Carol makes him feel a nostalgic painful feeling in his heart due to their past as lovers.
  • When He Smiles: The ONLY times his smile can be seen is when he and Carol are using the "Guilty Crown" to stop Lost Christmas and in the final CG received upon completing the game.
  • Your Days Are Numbered: He received a defective Void Genome while he was experimented on, which is slowly killing him.

    Carol
Voiced by: Kana Asumi (Japanese)

Scrooge's main partner who accompanies him in his escape. She is also an experimental subject of Da'ath, but it is unclear what kind of experiments she was subjected to. Despite Scrooge's crystallizing power, she is somehow able to accept his right hand, and thus from her Scrooge can pull out voids which could be used as weapons. However, much unlike the characters from Guilty Crown, her voids seem to take various forms and are much more fragile, and their damage doesn't lead to her death. She has a spontaneous personality, yet she is sharp and seems to carry ulterior motives behind her escape.

  • Blessed with Suck: She and Scrooge can touch each other freely and compared to Inori, she's much more versatile for battle. Unfortunately, it's because her baby can never live or die because of Scrooge.
  • Brooding Boy, Gentle Girl: Carol loyally stick by Scrooge's side and provides him comfort when she can tell he needs it.
  • Contrasting Prequel Main Character: To Inori. They have similar appearances, but Carol is much more emotive and enjoys poking fun at Scrooge's moodiness. And unlike Inori, her Void is fragile but can take many forms because they're her unborn child's.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: She knew who Scrooge was in the research facility, but even he can tell that she doesn't want to talk about it.
  • Doomed by Canon: Along with Scrooge, she is long dead by the time Guilty Crown rolls around.
  • Driven to Suicide: Implied. She was always pushing Scrooge to "break" her not only out of revenge, but because she's infected with the Apocalypse Virus as well.
  • Foregone Conclusion: As with Scrooge, her death was a given.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: She and Scrooge sacrificed themselves by performing Guilty Crown to stop the first Apocalypse in the True End
  • Huge Guy, Tiny Girl: She's about the same size as Inori, but she barely reaches Scrooge's chest.
  • Mr. Exposition: She gives Scrooge and the player brief details about the world and his power.
  • The Nicknamer: She was the one who named Scrooge. She also enjoys calling him Mr. Grumpy Miser.
  • No-Sell: Scrooge can touch her without any issues and is horrified to find out that it's because he impregnated her and infected her womb.
  • Official Couple: She and Scrooge fell in love while they were experiments. She continues to stick by his side even after he's forgotten about her.
  • Only Friend: Word-for-word how Scrooge describes her.
  • Precision F-Strike: In the "Retribution" ending, she flat out tells Scrooge to "fuck up the world".
  • The Pollyanna: She takes everything in stride.
  • Rape as Drama: Da'ath managed to get Scrooge to force himself on her prior to losing his memory. This resulted in her becoming pregnant, her womb becoming infected with the Apocalypse Virus, and their baby being unable to live or die.
  • Revenge: She has her hidden ways of plotting revenge against Da'ath for what they did to her unborn child. In order to have revenge, she willingly became Scrooge's "weapon" in order to drive him to the same path they're in.
  • Sick and Wrong: She always voices her disgust over the carnage Scrooge causes.
  • Stepford Smiler: Scrooge realizes she's empty on the inside upon learning that their children are trapped in a perpetual state of living and dying in her womb.
  • Stripperiffic: The outfit under her coat barely covers her breasts and exposes her entire abdomen, allowing Scrooge to easily extract her Void. Her outfit as Yet To Come is even more revealing and puts Inori's leotard to shame.
  • Title Drop: She calls the final Void used in-game the "Guilty Crown" as it comes out in the form of golden thorns, which Carol interprets as the sins that she and Scrooge gathered during their crusade against Da'ath.
  • Together in Death: While it's ambiguous as to whether or not she and Scrooge died stopping Lost Christmas, this is their inevitable fate given their relationship.
  • Your Days Are Numbered: She's dying from the Apocalypse Virus that's infected her womb.

    Present
Voiced by: Yuu Kobayashi (Japanese)

One of the members of the Christmas ghosts, a trio of assassins sent after Scrooge and Carol. He/she talks using the masculine pronoun "boku" but his/her gender is unknown. Also an experiment subject of Da'ath, he/she holds a mysterious ability to physically control the movement of the apocalypse crystal, a strong power he/she relies on to combat against Scrooge and Carol.

  • Affably Evil: It probably helps that he/she's hopelessly in love with Scrooge.
  • Ambiguous Gender: Present has become one with the Apocalypse Virus, which has assimilated all its sexual characteristics. Even he/she doesn't know what gender he/she is, or how it happened, at this point.
  • Cool Sword: Creates one for her final battle with Scrooge.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: Admits that he/she's envious of how Scrooge is so protective of Carol.
  • Combat Compliment: Hits on Scrooge while trying to cut him to bits.
  • Cruel and Unusual Death: gets Eaten Alive by one of Yet To Come's swarm of Void Locusts from the Void Chalice.
  • Cute and Psycho: Scrooge even narrates that it's visibly in her eyes.
  • Eaten Alive: She gets mauled to death by Yet To Come's swarm of Void Locusts from the Void Chalice.
  • Eternal Love: Declares his/hers for Scrooge.
  • Forceful Kiss: Which gets Scrooge to bite him/her in the tongue.
  • Power Crystal: As he/she has become one with the Virus, she can control it, turning people into crystals at a touch and creating shields, projectiles and swords from it.
  • Super-Speed: Like Scrooge, he/she's inexplicably fast enough to dodge bullets. When they have an actual melee fight, it's described as a battle of monsters above the rules of a fight between humans.
  • Yandere: Madly in love with Scrooge, and wants to become one (quite literally) with him.

    Past
Voiced by: Ayahi Takagaki (Japanese)

One of the members of Christmas ghosts. Her voice is reminiscent of a small girl. She controls various kinds of Endlaves from a remote cockpit, and her powers are astronomically stronger than a typical Endlave user. Though the Endlaves that she controls are none but primitive in design, their abilities far surpass those of later models.

  • Handicapped Badass: Being piloted by Saeko Shijou, who is currently going through a crystallization in her vegetable state.
  • Mama Bear: Willingly join as one of Christmas ghosts to protect Mana. Also, the part where she manage to protect Shu and Gai from the collapsing church in time.

    Yet To Come

One of the members of Christmas ghosts.

  • Fate Worse than Death: What happen when you're an unborn child, but got infected by the Apocalypse Virus... in your mother's womb? You go into a crystalization and become a Void... WITHIN YOUR MOTHER'S WOMB. Also, you know that once your Void gets drawn out and then it gets destroyed, you die, right? In Yet To Come's case, it will die... but, given that fact it's already a "Void", it will be "reborn" again, just with different forms of Void every time its father drew out... and it will continue on and on and on again...
  • Walking Spoiler: His/her identity is revealed to be the unborn baby between Scrooge and Carol. In the past, Scrooge and Carol were lovers and were forced to breed with each other in order for Da'ath to create hybrid race. As a result of this, Carol's womb underwent apocalypse crystallization and the baby was neither able to be born or to die, surviving in the form of a 'Void'.
