A'lisha Solai (She/Her)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/alisha_2.png
Race: Seeker of the Sun Miqo'te
Discipline: Pugilist/Monk
"Of course I'm not alone, Wolves hunt in packs after all."

  • Bare-Fisted Monk: A'lisha's hand are rated E, for everyone, thanks to her training as a pugilist.
  • Combat Clairvoyance: Another one of Mochi's abilities that A'lisha awakens during her fight with Fiora, allowing her to see her opponents moves before they make them.
  • The Gift: Has the Echo, but her echo manifests mainly in combat, granting her a sort of "Spider-Sense." As well as the aforementioned Future Sight.
  • I Have No Daughter!: Disowned by her family and tribe because she wanted more for her life than to be "the wife of some cat-boy."
  • Street Urchin: Lived on the streets of Ul'Dah after being excommunicated by her family.
    Aegaeon Alagona

Alymer Hyralt (She/Her)

Race: Plainsfolk Lalafell
Discipline: Machinist/White Mage
"I’ll just make them wish you were the real threat."

A mercenary and hunter of voidsent, Almyer keeps to herself. She's also a fallen White Mage who corrupted her own aether and can no longer use White Magic

  • Morality Chain: Sasane is definitely this for Aly, whether she wants to admit it or not.
  • Token Evil Teammate: For a given value of evil. Definitely more ruthless than the other Wolves.

     Aria Vaas

Aria Vaas (She/Her)

Race: Rava Vierra/Midlander Hyur

"I want people to remember me. I wanted to know that when I'd left a town the people would tell stories about me..."

  • Damsel in Distress: Finds herself as this when the Bloody Eagles come looking for her, and Lavar acts to save her.
  • Doorstop Baby: Found in the Twelveswood in a picnic basket by a Gridanian Conjurer who raised her.
  • Forced Transformation: Played with, After her magic limiter is removed, she changes from a Viera to a Hyur.
  • Lady of Black Magic: After learning Red Magic she leans into this trope. Once her magic limiter is removed, she almost exclusively uses black magic and leans further into the trope.
  • Mooching Master: T'echa found Aria and took her in, fed her, clothed her, and taught her the art of Dance. She also took a not insignificant portion of Aria's earnings while she was alive.
  • Street Urchin: Went broke as an adventurer and ended up homeless in Ul'Dah, before becoming a Dancer.
  • Teach Me How To Fight: Wants Tsugumi to teach her Red Magic. Ends up learning Red Magic from J'Mahja, Lavar's mother.

     Captain Ame

Captain Ame (They/Them)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ame_headshot.png
Race: Miqo'te
Discipline: Machinist/Gunbreaker

  • Ace Custom: Flies an airhsip that they modded themselves.
  • Ace Pilot: Can pilot anything, expertly.
  • The Defector: Defected from the Garlean Empire after seeing the horrors of the weapon project
  • Gadgeteer Genius: Modded their own airship, and an expert in all things mechanical.
  • Half-Breed Angst: Discriminated against by the Garleans for being a half-breed.
  • Parental Abandonment: Abandoned by their parents at birth, and raised in an orphanage.

     Chantelle "The Dragonsong" Shirerort

Chantelle Shirerort (She/Her)

Race: Duskwight Elezen
Discipline: Bard/Botanist/Carpenter

  • Chronic Hero Syndrome: One half natural empathetic personality and one half running away from her trauma from The Calamity. Chantelle would rather help out someone else in need, rather than discuss her memories of that day.
  • Doomed Hometown: Menphina's Grove, a village founded by Keepers of The Moon and Duskwights several centuries ago. What was once a thriving village for adventurer's to vist in the Shroud was utterly destroyed by the falling shards of Dalamud. Chantelle was the only survivor of her family of six.
  • Epithet: Picked up the bardic moniker of The Dragonsong near the end of the selfsame war between Ishgard and Nidhogg's Horde. She has only continued her love and association with dragons since.
  • The Power of Language: As cutting in her words as her mastery of music and archery. As well, bards use their emotion and empathy to help their comrades.
  • Marriedtothe Job: Until the end of Endwalker and the 'dissolution' of The Scions Chantelle would use her duty as a Scion to jump from conflict to conflict, and lend her aid. While the cause was always just, it left little time to come to terms with the trauma she experienced during The Calamity. Or comes to terms with what it meant to become closer with Artoirel de Fortemps.
  • The Resenter: Chantelle has experienced first hand anti-Duskwight prejudice and watched many Keeper friends during her youth be judged for their clans. It is why despite being a Captain of the Adders and involved with many Gridanian guilds, she only spends so much time there, and does not own a home in their housing district.

Fallana "of the White Wings" Roda

Fallana Roda (She/Her)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/fallana.png
Race: Raen Au Ra
Discipline: White Mage
"White magic can't heal a broken heart."

Childhood friend of Lala's who joins the Free Company at their request.

  • Happily Married: Loves her wife Lilah Aemel'dah very much.
  • Humble Hero: Fallana will shrug off any praise of her abilities as simply being her duty. She's a healer, it's what she does. Which leads to
    • Heroic Self-Deprecation: "I heal. That's all I can do."
    • Martyr Without a Cause: Will often heal others to the point of physically exhausting herself. She almost dies while her and Lavar are battling the Illuminati Gamma Armor.
  • The McCoy: She's a healer, not a detective!
  • Team Mom: Always concerned about the physical and emotional wellbeing of her comrades, going out of her way to ensure that morale is high.
  • White Mage: Obviously.

    Lala Falafels

Lala Falafels (They/Them)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lala_falafels.png
Race: Plainsfolk Lalafell
Discipline: Scholar/Machinist/Ninja/Dark Knight/Samurai
"From the seas to the skies!"

Founder and leader of the Northern Wolves. Lala is a brilliant, albeit mischievous aetherologist with a love of baked goods.

    Lavar "the Blackguard" Blackthorne

Lavar Blackthorne (He/Him)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/2021_07_16_21_18_32_977_neneko_akihabara_4.jpg
Race: Highlander Hyur
Discipline: Dark Knight/Red Mage/White Mage/Samurai
"Their shield. Their sword. Their succor."

Co-leader of the Northern Wolves, skilled in all manner of swordplay.

  • Broken Ace: Played with. After all the trauma of Heavensward and Stormblood he definitely drifted into this trope, being motivated only by his desire to get revenge on Ilberd, then Zenos. He becomes increasingly more reckless and self-destructive and takes a leave of absence from the Free Company as he continues to spiral. He gets better though, but still has shades of his self-destructive tendencies.
  • Chronic Hero Syndrome: Played with, Lavar knows the dangers of overextending himself but cannot turn a blind eye to those in need.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Lavar can be *very* sassy when he isn't being the pillar of stability for his comrades.
  • A Father to His Men: Sasane and Fallana often tease Lavar about being the "Company Dad" but it's clear that his fellow company members respect him and he would go to the ends of the star for them.
  • Guile Hero: Has shades of this after the events of Under The Moonlight, as he starts to let go of his need for revenge. When possible Lavar prefers to outsmart his opponents instead of killing them, as he tried to do with Gogoteshi. It failed spectacularly and resulted in the giant fight he was trying to avoid.
  • Jack of All Trades: Lavar is skilled in swordplay, magicks, succor, and crafting. He tends to fill whatever role the party needs at the time.
  • Hypocrite: Lectures Fallana about being self-destructively selfless while pushing himself to his absolute limits so his comrades don't have to. He's at least self-aware enough to realize this.
  • Rage Breaking Point: Ilberd betraying the Crystal Braves and sacrificing the Grand Companies for Shinryu pushes an already enraged Lavar past his breaking point.
  • Red Baron: The Bloody Eagles dub him "The Blackguard" thanks to his showing at the Sultana's Breath
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The Blue Oni to T'uues' Red. He tends to be more measured compared to her hot-blooded nature.
  • Superpowered Evil Side: Played with, Fray isn't evil, just ruthlessly pragmatic. His "Black Guard" form can be this if he loses control, however.
  • Trauma Conga Line: The betrayal of the Crystal Braves causes the Wolves to scatter, leading him to succumb to his own inner darkness. Then Ilberd orchestrates the summoning of Shinryu. Oh, then Zenos massacres Rhalgr's Reach while he's sulking.

     Lilah Amel'dah

Lilah Amel'dah (She/Her)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/liliah.png
Click here for her appearance later in the story
Race: Raen Au Ra
Discipline: Astrologan

Fallana's wife, head House-Maid of Casa Del Tocino, and new adventurer.

  • Berserk Button: Do *not* endanger her wife, as The Bole found out the hard way.
  • Damsel in Distress: Fallana saves her life from a sandworm in their first meeting.
  • The Gift: She has the Echo as well, but unlike the Warrior of Light, who sees into the past, Lilah's Echo gives her visions of the future.
  • Happily Married: Loves her wife Fallana Roda very much.
  • Indentured Servitude: Her parents stole from a store owned by Gogoteshi Dedeteshi to make ends meet when they first arrived. Instead of gaoling them, he instead took them in as servants for multiple generations to pay off the debt.
  • Instant Expert: Takes to astrology *very* quickly, much to Fallana's shock.
  • War Refugees: Her parents fled Doma during the Garlean invasion and they wind up in Vesper Bay.

    Maya Mizuchi

Maya Mizuchi (She/Her)

Race: Raen Au Ra
Discipline: Bard/Arcanist/Lancer/Paladin
"You'll have to do better than that to stop a pack of wolves at your door."

One of the Bards of the Northern Wolves. Friendly, inquisitive, and always looking for a good story. Originally from Sharlayan

  • Badass Boast: Gives these quite often. She's a storyteller, she can't help herself.
  • The Bard: Maya is often seen chronicling the stories and adventures of others, including her company mates.
  • The Beastmaster: Maya is rarely seen without her trusty Carbuncle.
  • My Country, Right or Wrong: Subverted Maya is Sharlayan, but does not agree with her country's decision not to share knowledge with the outside world. She shares her discoveries with Lala to help develop countermeasures against the Illuminati.
  • Turn the Other Cheek: Played with; she outright refuses to fight The Ewer, instead choosing to focus on destroying the Ark.

Mumufin "the Baleful Bard" Mufin (Muffin)

Mumufin Mufin (She/Her)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/muffin_5.png
Race: Dunesfolk Lalafell
Discipline: Bard/ Dark Knight
"You're my smart little Muffin Pie"

Lavar's apprentice. Plucky, chipper, and always ready with a song.

  • The Bard: Often writes/sings songs of her adventures. Sometimes does this to calm her nerves.
  • Sharing a Body: It's heavily implied that Felix's spirit has bonded with Muffin through his job stone.
  • Superpowered Evil Side: Shades of this seem to be popping up with her new powers
  • Take Up My Sword: Takes up her friend's sword and job stone.
  • Tragic Keepsake: The greatsword she carries belongs to her friend Felix. Same with his job stone

     Ricola Hooper

Ricola Hooper (She/Her)

Race: Midlander Hyur
Discipline: Pugilist/Rogue/Ninja
"Well, like you said, I'm a hero. Heroes don't give up."

The newest Wolf, Ricola Hooper is a scrappy rogue who just wants to help people.

    Sana Cenna

Sana Cenna

Race:Seeker of the Sun Mi'qote
Discipline: Black Mage
Sana is the newest wolf recruit. With no formal education and an adventurer of only one year, she seeks out legendary heroes she had heard of in stories to learn to overcome her own challenges and become a hero who can protect others.
  • Parental Abandonment: Abandoned at a young age as soon as she showed symptoms of having an inheritable tribal power. Her echo
  • Orphanage of Fear: Raised from then on at an orphanage of other miqote children with the same gift.

    Sasane Sane

Sasane Sane (She/Her)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sasane.png
Race: Dunesfolk Lalafell
Discipline: Dark Knight/Red Mage
"About two moons ago I made a mistake."

Lala's assistant and Lavar's apprentice. Sasane corrupted her aether in a desperate situation and is now part Voidsent. She hunts other Voidsent to replenish her own aether supplies.

  • All-Loving Hero: Empathizes with her enemies, even The Arrow, and tries her best to get them to see her side of things before ultimately defeating them.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: Despite being partially Voidsent, Sasane is one of the kindest members of the Northern Wolves.
  • Really 700 Years Old: Was actually born in the Sixth Astral Era during the founding of Red Magic. Her accident froze her in time, she's actually over 1200 years old.

Race: Seeker of the Sun Mi'qote
Discipline: Paladin/Dark Knight/Red Mage
"Horns aren't symbolic of power, but the horns of your loved ones intact are."

  • Blind Seer: Blinded at a young age due to her fusing with a Wind Elemental but can see the aether around her as a result. After the events of Endwalker she can see again.
  • Break the Cutie: The events of The Bloody Banquet absolutely wreck her.
  • Broken Bird: Losing Haurchefant and Ysayle finally break Tuues, sending her headfirst into this trope. She's barely around the Free Company, detached, and increasingly reckless in combat.
  • Death Seeker: Falls into this trope after the deaths of Ysayle and Haurchefant but gets better after the Wolves remind her of what she still has.
  • The Empath: Her ability to see peoples aether also allows her to "see" their emotions.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The Red Oni to Lavar's Blue, she is definitely more hot-blooded and headstrong than Lavar.
  • Raised by Wolves: Antelopes, actually.
  • Red Baron: The Feared Fangs of the Northern Wolves
  • Sharing a Body: Fused with a Wind Elemental at a young age. They have a mostly symbiotic relationship with occasional dissociative episodes. And there's also Myste
