Molly's Family

    Martin

Martin Blyndeff

Voiced by: Jay Preston

Mundie

Martin's Stats:
Stamina: Lv. 1 ★★★☆☆
Proficiency: Lv. 1 ★★☆☆☆
Creativity: Lv. 1 ★★★★★

"I already punched my parent card! That means I get the rest of the day off!"

Molly's irresponsible mundie father.

  • 0% Approval Rating: His own family members seem to barely tolerate his presence and outsiders can instantly see how incompetent he is as a person and a parent.
  • Abusive Parents: He may not intentionally hurt Molly, but he's very distant from her emotionally and only really does the bare minimum when it comes to parenting her. Him foisting all of his responsibilities onto Molly has led to her becoming incredibly weary, burnt-out and constantly on the verge of an emotional breakdown before she met Giovanni, while his irresponsible spending means that she's malnourished and very underweight. While not as bad with Lorelai, he doesn't see her creations in the bubble as actual beings and happily breaks them with no regard to how she'd feel over it. He justifies it by saying her creations will disappear anyway and are only for aesthetic, so there's no real harm done.
  • Adults Are Useless: Would rather play mobile phone games than watch over a group of school kids? Check. Eagerly joins in said kids' dogpile onto a pile of museum artifacts when asked to do something about it? Check. Considers acting as a chaperone to be clocking in his "parent card", thereby letting him put his 12-year-old daughter in charge of the night shift for his store? Check. He apparently can't even remember to lock the door. Oh, and he foists the night shift on his daughter despite her protests that she worked the last two nights and has homework she needs to catch up on. Father of the Year, everyone.
  • Amazingly Embarrassing Parents: In addition to his Manchild tendencies, he has a knack for drawing unwanted attention to his shy daughter.
  • Bumbling Dad: Deconstructed viciously. Much like the standard Bumbling Dad, Martin is an incompetent Manchild and frequently messes up in both his family and professional lives, but rather than have this played as an endearing quirk it's shown that Martin is neglectful and downright emotionally abusive of his daughters and just a terrible person in general.
  • Deconstructed Character Archetype: At first glance, he comes across as a lovable, if irresponsible Cloudcuckoolander whose cheery disposition contrasts with his daughter. However, it becomes quickly apparent that said irresponsibility makes him a pretty lousy father, whose treatment of Molly borders on abuse.
  • Dissonant Serenity: Lorelai doesn't like how he seemed to just not care when Calliope died, wondering if he had just forgotten her. He's also eerily relaxed while talking to Giovanni about Lorelai's worlds and his daughters' emotional states. Furthermore, he casually tells Giovanni he's going to die while under the impression the villain is one of Lorelai's creations.
  • Foolish Husband, Responsible Wife: Played absolutely straight to extremes. Martin is an absolute Manchild that is more interested in playing games than chaperones, doesn't notice his daughter is missing even when he has her phone, and treasured a castle diorama more than her. Calliope, on the other hand, was an insanely controlling workaholic that planned her daughters' lives in advance. The two balanced each other out nicely until the fire, and Word of God says that the opposite outcome would be no better.
  • The Friend Nobody Likes:
    • According to the Eye Catch, the teachers draw lots for PTA meetings, and he's the short straw.
    • In Prison of Plastic, everyone is frustrated by his antics, with him being the only one who thinks his habit of never remembering Phoenica or Trixie's names is funny. Naven is described as "[wanting] to die" while interacting with Martin and has even called child protection services on him at least once. Giovanni ends up hitting him over the head with a bat and declaring Martin to be his greatest nemesis. When Molly hears about this as Giovanni "kidnaps" her, she's more amused than concerned that Giovanni hit her dad.
  • Hated by All: Martin Blyndeff is pretty much despised by everyone he either meets or interacts with because of his irresponsible behavior as a selfish man-child, with even his own children growing to despise him.
    • According to the Eye Catch, the teachers draw lots for PTA meetings, and he's the short straw. This heavily implies that Martin is unpopular with teachers and fellow parents at his daughter's schools, "Prison of Plastic" confirms that one of his daughter's teachers dislikes him for his irresponsible behavior and calls Social Security on him for concern for his younger daughter.
    • In "Prison of Plastic," everyone is frustrated by his antics, with him being the only one who thinks his habit of never remembering Phoenica or Trixie's names is funny.
    • Both of Martin's daughters, Molly and Lorelai, grow to despise him as well; it was heavily implied that he was much closer to them and a much better parent when his wife was alive, but after her death and him pretty much ignoring it and his selfishness and immaturity growing worse this caused his relationship with his daughters to deteriorate.
      • Molly gets the brunt of his selfishness with her having to work in the family toy store at night because he was not willing to do any work after his wife died, with Molly being overworked and underfed because he is unwilling to be in a responsible adult and dad towards her. He would often put pressure on her to work at the shop and would talk out of doing his shift at the store by justifying it by saying that he had punched his parent's card. At his best, he embarrasses his daughter with unwanted attention with his embarrassing behavior; at his worst, he has no care for his daughter's well-being once forgetting about her on a school field trip he was chaperoning. While Molly does not have a deep hatred for her father, it is clear that whatever love and positive feelings she had for her father in the past are now gone, and it should be noted that while at first Molly wanted to reconnect with her sister Lorelai, she never wanted to reconnect with him.
      • At first glance, Martin and Lorelai seem to have a strong father-daughter bond mainly because of the negative traits they share. Both ignore the death of Martin's wife and Lorelai's mother, Calliope; both are selfish, immature, and uncaring about how their behaviors affect others. And it appears that Martin favors Lorelai over Molly. However, it is shown that even Lorelai is not immune to suffering from Martin's selfishness, and even she can be shocked by his behavior. First, it was demonstrated that Martin has no concern for Lorelai's feelings and would break her creations while justifying them by saying that they will disappear anyway, not caring that he hurt his daughter's feelings. Later it was shown that Lorelai is shocked at how casual he is with his wife's death being mentioned to the point where she's afraid that he forgot about his wife.
  • Hate Sink: He’s an annoying, lazy, and neglectful Manchild that forces his preteen daughter to do his responsibilities, and is generally uncaring about her well-being.
  • It's All About Me: While he may have genuinely loved his wife, in the actual stories, he's shown to be totally indifferent to the consequences of his actions for other people, showing no qualms about shoving all his responsibilities onto Molly while raiding Lorelai's dream bubbles for inspiration and breaking the things in them without concern.
  • The Klutz: Part of the reason Molly can sew is to fix all the stuff that he apparently breaks. In Prison of Plastic, he somehow manages to lose an amulet Lorelai gave him to make sure he doesn't accidentally get hurt in her bubbles.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: After two years of neglecting and mistreating Molly, he eventually gets his comeuppance when Giovanni calls him out on his lousy behaviour before smacking him upside the head with his bat and later taking Molly away from him.
  • Manchild: He’s no more mature than the children he chaperones at the beginning of the Museum Arc. He even asks Molly for her phone just so he can play an obnoxiously loud video game on it while he's supposed to be supervising. His irresponsibility has also lead to his family being barely above the poverty line, despite being the owner of a semi-successful toy store.
  • No Indoor Voice: Always seems to be making noises, talking loudly and generally ignoring others, including his own daughter (who politely asks him to quiet down).
  • Opposites Attract: He and Calliope balanced each other out to form a complete set of competent parents. While Calliope was a Control Freak who had intense anxiety and needed everything to run on a schedule, Martin and his more carefree, relaxed demeanour was always there to calm her down and keep her from flying off the handle.
  • Parental Favouritism: Lori uses him as her trump card in arguments with Molly because he usually takes her side, no matter how obviously she's in the wrong.
  • Parental Neglect: Apparently isn't home much, leaving his daughter to run the store at night. He also doesn't realize that Molly isn't with him when he leaves the museum. He only decides he's good to go after checking that he has everything important — and by that, he means his keys, wallet, and phone, not his daughter. In Prison of Plastic, when Giovanni threatens to steal "the most valuable thing from his store", Martin assumes that he's referring to his castle diorama, showing that he does not value his younger daughter very much.
  • Shadow Archetype: To Giovanni. Both are loud, juvenile, and impulsive, but Giovanni has a core of basic decency and a sense of responsibility, while Martin just sucks and everyone knows it.
  • Wacky Parent, Serious Child: The Wacky Parent to his daughter Molly's Serious Child. Deconstructed, since his Manchild personality makes him a very irresponsible parent and he's unwilling to even run the family toy store, which leaves Molly struggling to balance running the store with her schoolwork.

    Calliope

Calliope Blyndeff

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/calliope_15.png

Molly and Lorelai's Mother, who passed away sometime before the series began.

  • Deceased Parents Are the Best: Zig-Zagged. Molly has nothing of fond memories of her mother compared to her (understandably) less than savory opinion on her father and sister, but Word of God mentions that Calliope would have taken losing Martin as badly as he did losing her. Eventually, Molly acknowledges her mother's flaws in "Prison of Plastic" while talking to her friend Rick Shades; she reveals that her mother was a workaholic that rarely smiled, while her father could not take anything seriously. Molly realizes that both her parents would have been bad as single parents, and it's only together at the Blyndeff family was able to be happy under "two broken support beams".
  • Missing Mom: Absent due to passing away, her death causing a lot of conflict in her surviving family.
  • Opposites Attract: She was an anxious workaholic, yet she ended up with Martin, of all people. Apparently they balanced each other out to form a complete set of competent parents.
A full-on addict of hustle culture. She had her daughters' whole lives planned out and was devastated whenever an obstacle to that plan presented itself. The only thing that could calm her down was her lax husband.
  • Posthumous Character: She was killed in a house fire two years before the start of the series.

Giovanni's Boys

    In General

Giovanni's Boys

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bonzai_blasters_7.png
"POSE WITH ME, MINIONS!"
[They do. It's bad, alright.]

Giovanni's trusty loyal minions. They accompany Giovanni in his attempt to rob the Sweet Jazz Museum.

  • Canon Foreigner: They were all created for Epithet Erased specifically, with their names being chosen by Giovanni's Anime Campaign player off the top of his head.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: They really do give it their all, but they have no chance against Indus, who absolutely stomps them any time he faces them.
Molly: Well... They tried their bargain bin best.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: It's stated in Prison of Plastic that a few of them come from troubled households, with the implication that this may have been part of why they joined the Banzai Blasters.
  • Desperately Looking for a Purpose in Life: The reason they joined the Banzai Blasters in the first place was just to find be a part of something, as is the case with most new recruits.
  • Did Not Think This Through: They usually just follow Giovanni's plans... which usually means they are winging everything and doing whatever their boss says.
  • Early Installment Character-Design Difference: In Season 1, they were all just slightly different variants of the same base Banzai Blaster design, meaning they all had the same proportions, minus Spike (who was still just a variant on the female Blaster design). Their designs in the books give them more unique body types as their characters became more defined and individualized.
  • Nice Guy: Despite being self-proclaimed "Bad Dudes", they're all pretty kind at heart, being respectful to each other and others whenever they aren't intentionally trying to be evil, and even then they're generally harmless.
  • Not in My Contract: They do not mess around with no real-ass, goddamn swords; it's out of their paygrade.
  • Poke the Poodle: What most of their crimes consists of, courtesy of their leader GIOVANNI POTAGE!
Spike, in "Great at Crime": I stole some bubblegum!
  • Stupid Crooks: They originally wanted to stage the robbery at midnight, but Ben's mom wouldn't allow him to be out that late. They also had no particular target or plans to transport the stolen goods out of the museum.
  • "Super Sentai" Stance: They pride themselves in their posing technique, going as far as to have a pose off with Indus upon being challenged to do so. They even wear similarly-styled helmets!
  • Supervillain Lair: "Supervillain" might be a bit much, but they use Crusher's treehouse as a lair/hangout place. Its also where Giovanni hides out after the police start searching for him.
  • Undying Loyalty: They're all extremely loyal and trusting of Giovanni, which he reciprocates by being A Father to His Men. When Giovanni invites them to join his self-made villain team after he leaves the Banzai Blasters, they agree to do so with fervor even when its clear he has no actual ideas for how the group will work.

    Car Crash

Car Crash (Fred Donaldson)

Click to see his casual clothing.

"Oh, HERE WE GO. You crash ONE car FOUR times and suddenly it's your name!"

Giovanni's most unlucky minion, infamous for getting in car accidents.

  • Acquainted with Emergency Services: In his civilian identity, he's apparently crashed his car so many times that he's been blacklisted by the local tow truck company, and even a straight-laced officer like Percy is making bets on how often he's going to do it in a given month.
  • Ascended Extra: The only one of Giovanni's boys to return for the Western Arc.
  • Blind Without 'Em: Giovanni is around 80% sure that part of the reason for his frequent car crashes is that he has astigmatism or some other eye condition, and needs to get them checked out.
  • Butt-Monkey: He crashes cars so much that it's his Banzai alias, with the Western arc revealing that he's Acquainted with Emergency Services. Molly also manages to use her epithet to sic Ben on him during the Museum arc. Prison of Plastic's Kickstarter page even describes him as "the unluckiest of Giovanni's minions".
  • Clothing Damage: Likely due to his many car accidents. His uniform has several tears in it and his helmet has a noticeable dent.
  • Meaningful Name: His nickname, Car Crash. It only takes one scene with him to figure out why.
  • Nasal Trauma: He has a bandage on his nose, and it's implied he injured it in one of his many car crashes.
  • Once Done, Never Forgotten: Subverted. He protests that he only has that name because he crashed one car...four times.
    • In episode 5, it's revealed that he's crashed so many times that Percy's reaction to him crashing for the fifth time in a month is to note that someone else owes her a dollar.
  • Skintone Sclerae: Is shown to have these in his civilian look.

"Doesn't matter... he challenged us! And nobody messes with the BANZAI BLASTERS!"

Giovanni's most passionate minion.

  • Awesome McCoolname: Car Crash, at the very least, thinks he has the coolest name in their group.
  • Blush Sticker: He gains some after Ben and Car Crash tells him not to be ashamed of his Unmanly Secret since he's genuinely good at it.
  • Cool Shades: Sports a pair of yellow lensed classes as part of his casual look.
  • Fiery Redhead: He has red hair and has a hotblooded personality, being quick to accept Indus's challenge. His borwn roots imply its dyed however.
  • Hot-Blooded: Prison of Plastic's Kickstarter describes him as one of Giovanni's most passionate minions, with the other being Crusher.
  • Unmanly Secret: He does male cheerleading on weekends, which he doesn't want people other then his close friends to know about.

    Ben

Click to see his casual clothing.

"It's not my fault! Mom said she wouldn't drive me around past five!"

Giovanni's most dim-witted minion.

  • Brainwashed and Crazy: Molly uses "Dumb" to turn him Type 2 stupid, making him believe that he is a car that really wants to run over his teammate.
Ben: Bluh? [Ben looks at Car Crash...]
    Car Crash: Ben? ...Ben, buddy?
Ben: [Ben stares with blank eyes. Eyes one might compare... to headlights.] Beep beep!
    Car Crash: No... not again!
    Ben: BEEP BEEP!
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: Downplayed. He's still very much friends with the rest of the group, but the others often find him to be annoying, even Giovanni.
  • Odd Name Out: He lacks a "cool" villain nickname like the rest of the group since he hasn't earned one yet.
  • Token Evil Teammate: Downplayed. While the entire team is trying to be evil, Ben is the only one who actually comes across as genuinely antagonistic in his attempt to attack Molly.
  • Uncleanliness Is Next to Ungodliness: His line in the first episode's credits has him proudly state:
    "I never wash my hands!"
  • Would Hurt a Child: Has no issue in attacking Molly, a 12-year-old, and even expresses interest in his villain nickname being "Kidpuncher".

    Crusher

Crusher

Voiced by: Caleb Yen

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/crusher_uniform.png
Click to see his casual clothing.

Giovanni's most loyal minion, who's named after the huge crush he has on Giovanni.

  • Affectionate Nickname: Openly calls Giovanni "Honey" in the Banzai Blaster prologue of "Prison of Plastic."
  • The Big Guy: The largest and seemingly strongest of Giovanni's minions with a gruff voice to match, not that it helps much of course.
  • Cold Ham: He's just as hammy as his teammates, he's just more soft-spoken about it. That is unless he's professing his love to Giovanni.
  • It Was a Gift: Keeps the membership card Giovanni gave him in a locket so as to have it "next to his heart". Giovanni only seems to think that it's a weird place to keep the card.
  • Love Confession: Played for Laughs. Giovanni asks Crusher what he thinks of his new Smoke Out ability. Crusher responds by saying that he thinks it's cool, followed by him suddenly exclaiming "I LOVE YOU!" at the top of his lungs.
  • Meaningful Name: Crusher has a massive crush on Giovanni.
  • Secretly Wealthy: His treehouse is described as basically a fully constructed house, leading to this assumption.
  • Straight Gay: It's not particularly obvious that he's gay, but his crush on Giovanni is so large that he's nicknamed after it! The Kickstarter for Prison of Plastic even lumps him and Flamethrower together as the most passionate of Giovanni's boys.

    Spike

Spike

Voiced by: Meg McClain

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/spike_uniform.png
Click to see her casual clothing.

Giovanni's scariest minion.

  • Delinquent Hair: Her hair is dyed indigo with her roots being a tanner color, which gives her a more rough look compared to the rest of the boys.
  • Love Confession: Played for Laughs. She follows right behind Crusher's own declaration of love with an equally loud "I LOVE YOU MORE!"
  • Non Conformist Dyed Hair: Has indigo-tipped hair and a very punk-like attitude.
  • Noodle Incident: The reason she can't come on Giovanni's planned job on Friday in Prison of Plastic is that she's seeking revenge on a swan that stole her sandwich once. Giovanni approves.
  • One Degree of Separation: Per the artbook, her younger brother is the kid in Molly's class with the skull shirt.
  • One of the Boys: She's just as much one of Giovanni's boys as the rest, even if she is a girl.
  • Perky Goth: An unusual example: her appearance and aesthetic falls very much into the category of Scene (a subculture of Emo, which in itself is a subculture of goth), but she's certainly rowdy.
  • Scary Teeth: Unlike the rest of Giovanni's "boys", her teeth are all jagged and spiky, likely as yet another reason for her name.
  • Spikes of Villainy: A given, considering her name. Her uniform's wrist guards have spikes protruding from them and her helmet's wings are pointed. Her teeth are also pretty sharp and spiky.
  • The Smurfette Principle: The only female member of Giovanni's "boys", though there are other women part of the Banzai Blasters as a whole, and Molly temporarily becomes Giovanni's minion when his boys are out of commission.

    Dark Star

Dark Star

Voiced by: Cyrus Rodas

Epithet: Binary, possibly

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dark_star_uniform.png
Click to see his casual clothing.

Giovanni's most mysterious minion. He potentially possess the epithet "Binary", which allows him to appear in two places at once.

  • Ambiguous Situation: Jello has stated that if any of Giovanni's boys have an epithet, it'd be him, and it'd be "Binary" if he had one. The ambiguous part is that Jello never concretely says that he has an epithet, rather he suggests that he might have one. Prison of Plastic's Kickstarter page lampshades this by describing him as "the most mysterious of Giovanni's minions".
  • Cosmic Motifs: In addition to his name, his uniform is unique in that it has various celestial objects decorating it. His hypothetical epithet, "Binary", is named after Binary Star systems.
  • Expendable Clone: Played for Laughs, when there are suddenly two Dark Stars in the same room at the end of episode 4. This may be due to his epithet.
Percy: [The woman steps forward and unsheathes a real ass, goddamn sword and points it at them.]
Giovanni: Whoa, is that a real ass sword?
Spike: (pops up behind Giovanni) Holy crap!
Dark Star: (pops up behind Spike) We don't mess around with no real ass, goddamn swords!
Crusher: (pops up behind Dark Star) That's out of our pay grade!
Another Dark Star: (pops up behind Crusher) Uh nuh. We're done.
  • Maybe Magic, Maybe Mundane: The name of his (potential) epithet lines up perfectly with a second copy of him popping up behind Crusher when Percy unveils her real ass, goddamn sword. That said, it's still up in the air whether or not he does have an epithet and as such it's not clear where the other Dark Star came from.

The Sweet Jazz Police Force

    In General

The Sweet Jazz Police Force

Voiced by: Cyrus Rodas (Bearded Cop)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sweet_jazz_police.png

"Freeze, criminals! We're da COPS!"

The police force in charge of keeping Sweet Jazz City safe.

  • Adapted Out: An officer named Meryl Lockhart was one of the player characters featured in Episode 1 of Anime Campaign, which was loosely adapted into the Western Arc of Epithet Erased. Unlike Eros and Gorou, both of whom were player characters in Anime Campaign who were Demoted to Extra in Epithet Erased, Meryl was completely cut the story, only be offhandedly mentioned by Percy in episode five.
  • Large Ham: The bearded cop, as shown in episode 4 when he enters a room yelling the above quote.
  • Police Are Useless: Averted. They're shown to be decent at their jobs, reacting quickly when the museum's alarm is sounded and quickly apprehending Indus once they arrive.

    Sgt. Eros

Sergeant Eros

Voiced by: Steven Kelly

A sensual-speaking sergeant of the Sweet Jazz Police Department. He sends Percy to Redwood Run to retrieve Fred/Car Crash after another accident, inadvertently getting Percy involved in the Western Arc's main plot.

  • Aroused by Their Voice: He has a very smooth, slow voice, which the captions make sure to note.
  • Demoted to Extra: Sgt. Eros was one of the player characters featured in Episode 1 of Anime Campaign, which was loosely adapted into the Western Arc of Epithet Erased. However, he does not accompany Percy in the show's version and just gives her the task that leads her to Redwood Run, and his otherwise completely absent from the plot. He's still named in the credits, so it's unclear if he'll get a more substantial roll in the future.
  • The Voice: He's heard on a police radio in Percy's car, where he's only known as "Sexy Radio Voice". His name gets dropped in the cast credits of the episode.

Redwood Run

    Gorou

Gorou Shimizaki

Voiced by: Ari Ross

Epithet: Bluster

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gorou_eyecatch_8.png
Gorou's Stats:
Stamina: Lv. 1 ★☆☆☆☆
Proficiency: Lv. 1 ★☆☆☆☆
Creativity: Lv. 1 ★☆☆☆☆

"Pew, pew! Pew! P-(GUNSHOT) Whoops, heh! Looks like the safety was off! Huhuh! Pew pew! Pew, pew!"

The incompetent sheriff of Redwood Run.

His epithet, "Bluster", allows him to blow very slightly harder than average blowing.
  • Adaptational Wimp: In Anime Campaign, his epithet Bluster had a proficiency slightly less than 20 (around 3 to 4 stars) and let him do things like create winds strong enough to throw people around the room or blow up and deflate like a balloon. In Epithet Erased, his proficiency with his epithet was weakened to one star to showcase his incompetence.
  • Blow You Away: His epithet is supposedly this, but really it's so weak that it's pretty much useless.
  • Demoted to Extra: In Anime Campaign, Gorou was a player character in the first main session. In Epithet Erased, he still appears in the equivalent Western Arc (unlike Eros and Meryl), but is just a gag character who doesn't participate in any fights.
  • Donut Mess with a Cop: Aside from the open dozen sitting on his desk, this man wears a donut bolo tie, twirls a gun with a donut-shaped handle, and sports a beard that seems to be made of sprinkles. Not hard to guess his favorite snack.
  • Eyes Always Shut: He's never seen opening his eyes, fitting his unobservant attitude. He only opens them when he's startled by his gun firing.
  • Juggling Loaded Guns: He likes to play with his pistol without putting the safety on it, so it's a good thing bullets aren't lethal in Epithet Erased.
  • Never Learned to Read: Downplayed. He may or may not be able to read, but his comment about planning to use the Bartender's special "SPELL-'EM-UP SOUP!" to learn how to spell implies that he has a very weak grasp of spelling for an adult man. Keep in mind, said soup only features 22 letters of the alphabet, including "the new vowel B2."
  • Nice Guy: Unfailingly nice and polite to everyone he interacts with, whether they're a citizen, criminal, or law enforcer. This doesn't help him do his job, and is part of the reason why the Banzai Blasters in Redwood Run aren't fazed by him.
  • Police Are Useless: Unbelievably so. He hands out free guns to visitors and seems genuinely surprised when Percy describes solving crimes as part of his job. Ramsey claims that the only reason he got the job was the fact that, lame as his epithet is, he's the only person in town who has one. Ramsey even chose Redwood Run to turn himself in specifically because being in his jail cell is more like staying in a hotel, which he could easily escape if needed.
  • Required Secondary Powers: His epithet actually has decent potential to be powerful with a little creative interpretation of "bluster", but his utter lack of creativity and him being rather ditzy means he only uses it to blow a donut off a table.
  • Super-Breath: This is how he applies his epithet, but he can only do it strongly enough to barely push a donut off a table. His total lack of willpower or creativity stifles any applications his epithet might otherwise have.
  • Super Loser: Nobody in or out of universe particularly respects Gorou.
  • What Kind of Lame Power Is Heart, Anyway?: His epithet is the genuinely lamest power a person could have, with his stats being a miserable single star across the board.

Howdy’s Stats:
Stamina: Lv. 1 ★★★★★
Proficiency: Lv. 1 ★☆☆☆☆
Creativity: Lv. 1 ★☆☆☆☆

"I used to be a government experiment!"

The mundie bartender of Redwood Run's tavern.

  • Abnormal Ammo: His shotgun shoots soup. Specifically, his bar's house special, "Spell-'Em-Up Soup". Bugsy uses this to his advantage, as does Giovanni.
  • Cloudcuckoolander: Very much so. His time as a government experiment may have something to do with it.
  • Handicapped Badass: He's completely blind, and apparently can't taste or smell, but is no less dangerous for it.
  • No Indoor Voice: Shouts almost every word at the top of his lungs.
  • The Thing That Would Not Leave: He got his job because he lived in the woods for ages, so when they built the town, he refused to move, and they eventually built that tavern around him.
  • Unwitting Test Subject: He openly admits to being a government experiment, as quoted above, though the "unwitting" part is ambiguous.
  • Wild Card: When the bar brawl begins, he tries to help Percy and Ramsey by shooting Bugsy with soup. When it's revealed that Bugsy can use the soup to prepare random attacks, he keeps shooting soup into Bugsy's mouth just because he's excited to shoot a customer in the face.

Mundie

Howie's Stats:
Stamina: ★MAX★
Proficiency: Lv. 3 ★★☆☆☆
Creativity: Lv. 1 ★★★★★

"You can be as mundane as you like when you know how to do your goddamn job."

A mundie construction worker who has a strained history with Percy.

  • Alliterative Name: Howie Honeyglow.
  • Animal Motif: Bees. His last name is Honeyglow, his hat has a bee on it, he refers to his employees as "worker bees", and he's skilled at construction.
  • Badass Boast: When he tells Ramsey that if someone like Percy with an epithet can do construction work in two hours, then he'll just have to do it in one. His work backs up this claim that Ramsey asks whether or not Howie had an epithet and is even more impressed when Percy says he's just a mundie who's really good at his job.
  • Badass Normal: He doesn’t have an epithet, yet his stats are incredibly high with his Stamina stat being outright maxed out.
  • Baritone of Strength: The most physically-powerful member of the cast introduced thus far, and has the deepest voice to boot.
  • Berserk Button: Several, all involving jobs.
    • Absolutely do not interrupt or damage his work, and if you do, you’d better quickly apologize. If you don’t, get ready for a wrench in the face.
    • People who don’t do their job or are unqualified for them. Simply thinking about people like that pisses off Howie.
  • Benevolent Boss: He makes sure to reward his worker bees when they do a good job.
  • Charles Atlas Superpower: And how. Despite his lack of an epithet, he has enough physical strength to bend a wrench, throw it like a boomerang to knock down three Banzai Blasters at once, and then bend it back into shape. All with one hand.
  • Extreme Omnivore: His favorite snack? A screw covered in honey.
  • Had to Be Sharp: His Charles Atlas Superpower skills are due to the fact that he needs to be able to keep up with epithet users like Percy who can throw up buildings in two hours.
  • Master of All: His stamina is at max level, his proficiency is two stars of the last level, and his creativity is max of the first level.
  • Ridiculously Fast Construction: Can build insanely fast for someone with no epithet.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: He loves honeyed snacks (screws drenched in honey). He beams whenever he talks about them.
  • Tranquil Fury: When the Banzai Jennifers shoot the building he'd been fixing (after he specifically asked to be left out of the confrontation), he grows angry enough that steam starts rising off him like a cloud, but never raises his voice above a terse growl.
Howie: I said... Let me do. My goddamned job.
  • Workaholic: He fully planned to work himself to death by 35, feeling that living past that age meant he didn't work hard enough.
  • Would Hit a Girl: Had no problem attacking three female Banzai Blasters once they directly interfered with his work.
  • Wrench Whack: Oddly combines this with a Battle Boomerang by bending his wrench slightly before throwing it.
  • The Worf Effect: Is quickly taken out and aged into an old man by Zora to show Zora’s point of epithets always trumping skill and strength.

Stink's Stats:
Stamina: Lv. 1 ★★★★☆
Proficiency: Lv. 1 ★☆☆☆☆
Creativity: Lv. 1 ★★★☆☆

An insolent boy in Molly's class.

  • Creator In-Joke: He's based on a Tee K.O. shirt that had a picture of farting cow captioned with the word "Stink" on it. Jello's boyfriend thought the shirt would look perfect for a "crappy background extra kid," to which Jello agreed.
  • Everyone Has Standards: While he generally comes across as tiresome, juvenile and obnoxious, in "Two-lloween" he openly acknowledges that Trixie is nonbinary (admittedly in a profoundly stupid context), which per Epithet Erased: Prison of Plastic most of their class doesn't. Those other students should probably feel bad that Stink is outdoing them.
  • Jerkass: He's about as rude and snotty as one can expect of a stereotypical prepubescent boy. His appearance in Prison of Plastic specifically is just him jeering Molly and her family's toy store for practically no reason.
  • Recurring Extra: He's not at all a major character, but he shows up in minor roles throughout the series.
  • Shout-Out: He's one to the 90s gross-out toys, basically acting as a physical manifestation of those toys' intended audience.
  • Un-Sorcerer: Implied In-Universe, as he doesn't raise his hand when Mera asks Molly's class who has an Epithet, and later confirmed by his official character card.

     He Who Hungers Endlessly

He Who Hungers Endlessly

The tyrannical warlock that rules the Ocean Country.
  • Evil Overlord: Is described as a tyrannical ruler of his country that forces his people to fight in gladiator games.
  • The Ghost: Is only mentioned by Rick when talking about his backstory and escape from Ocean Country.
  • Greater-Scope Villain: He is the ruler of the Ocean Country and the reason why Rick Shades nearly drowned when escaping to the surface.
  • Would Hurt a Child: He forced a twelve year old Rick Shades to fight as a gladiator in order to be harvested and increase his power.
