    In General
  • Adjective Noun Fred: Specialty Changed Heroes are indicated by an adjective or title before their name.
  • Animation Bump: They receive a full-screen animation in their third skill/ultimate abilities, which make them visually on par with 4★ or 5★ Heroes.
  • Art Evolution: All of them gain improved artworks in contrast to their regular 3★ versions.
  • Balance Buff: These are 3★ Heroes who got buffed through the Specialty Change mechanic. It's not simply a direct buff, the player has to make an effort to earn them by promoting the Hero to 5★ and complete their tasks.
  • Continuity Nod: When they get involved in new story content, these Heroes would usually be in their Specialty Change forms instead of their initial 3★ versions as a reminder that Specialty Changes are canon. This is best exemplified with Ras who gains his SC quest at the end of Episode 2. When Episode 3 came, he's now permanently in his Adventurer Ras appearance.
  • Costume Evolution: Specialty Change also changes these Heroes' costumes in terms of both artworks and in-game sprites as compared to their initial versions.
  • Double Unlock: It's "triple unlock" after you obtain the Hero. First, the Hero must be at Level 50 to unlock the Specialization Quests, then you have to complete the first three quests to unlock the fourth. Complete the fourth quest and you'll get your Specialty Changed Hero.
  • Fanservice Pack: Coupled with updated artworks, these Heroes would also undergo an outfit/armor evolution that makes them even more attractive, expressive, or makes them reveal more skin.
  • Magikarp Power: 3★ Heroes are weaker than the 4★-5★ when it comes to stats, but Specialty Change Heroes can be on par with the 5★ Heroes thanks to an expansive Skill Tree giving them buffs. However, fully upgrading a Specialty Change Hero takes a long time and a stockpile of Runes.
  • Power Equals Rarity: Zig-zagged with 3★ Heroes who are fully-upgraded through Specialty Change. Despite their lesser base stats, their skill tree upgrades can make them on par with 5★ heroes.
  • Purposely Overpowered: Certain Specialty Changed Heroes are seen to be on par with natural 5★ units once they have been fully invested or upgraded in a lot of aspects, such as Awakening, Skill Enhancements, skill tree, Gears and are leveled at 60, all of which would make the grind for these Heroes worth it. For example, Commander Lorina is known to be such a powerful single-target DPS unit who can even shred enemies late game. In general, Specialty Changed Heroes are all strong in their niche, but with the drawback that since they started off as 3★ units, they have a low base stat growth rates, which make them quite fragile when hit.
  • Skill Point Reset: Skill Trees of Specialty Changed Heroes can be reset by paying Skystones.
  • Took a Level in Badass: They went through some development in both lore and gameplay.
  • Time to Unlock More True Potential: 3★ Heroes who undergo a Specialty Change upgrade also have cutscenes detailing how they become stronger.

  • They Call Him "Sword": Yet again just like his 3★ version, he's just identified by the axe that he primarily uses, only this time he's now in the Chaos sect.

Savara

    Falconer Kluri
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/epic_seven_falconer_kluri.png
Voiced by: Kat Cressida (English), Juri Kimura (Japanese)
Rarity: 3★
Element: Earth
Class: Knight
Zodiac Sign: Aries

  • Ambiguously Brown: Despite being an Elf from Dun Blyraia like Iseria and Silk, Kluri is of a nice, caramel tan complexion. Possibly because she lives in the desert region of Savara, but it appears to be her natural skin tone.
  • Badass Cape: She has a cape strapped on her shoulder, which also bears some tribal designs.
  • Bedlah Babe: Her attire evokes such imagery.
  • Breast Expansion: Is noticeably bustier than her regular self.
  • Facial Markings: Has two small black stripes across each cheek.
  • Loyal Animal Companion: Upon her Specialty Change, she gains a falcon to help her in combat.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Not counting her Badass Cape, Kluri wears even less clothing this time, specifically on her top... For some reason, she also has a bigger bust.
  • Only in It for the Money: A common trope amongst the Longtail Company, what with being mercenaries and all.
  • Nerf: Used to be a top-tier unit, very dominant in PvP. Her skill set could literally shut down entire teams; breaking enemy defense, stripping their buffs, provoking enemies to send them off-target, heal herself and her allies, and get extra turns to disrupt the enemy further. The cooldown on her S3 (the Dispel, Defense Break, and Provoke) has had its cooldown increased by 1 turn (6, instead of 5), and instead of outright giving her an extra turn, her Combat Readiness (ATB gauge) gets a boost.

  • Beast Man: He's a humanoid dog. This is more obvious with his new artwork compared to his 3★ version.
  • Cool Mask: He now wears a form-fitting skull mask.
  • Wolverine Claws: These are now his weapons. While the design looks cool, one could only wonder why the middle blade on each arm is shorter that those on the sides.
