Retarded and Fun to Mock

I haven't read the book, so this is just about the movie.

I found it to be a wonderful example of So Bad Its Good. Hayden Christianson's "acting" is hilarious, and gets better if you pretend that every time he opens his mouth he's Anakin from Attack of the Clones saying "I murdered them like animals, the women and the children." (Your Mileage May Vary, of course.) The plot is nonsensical, the main character is a total jerk, and the villains are fairly unmotivated. All in all, a good movie to see with a bunch of friend in a setting where you can deride it to your heart's content.

And Anakin fights Mace Windu. Yeah, it's a fun action movie. Wouldn't say it was so bad as to mock it, though.

She's playing with fire! He's not ready for Nibbly Pig!

The book is SO much better. If you can find it, check it out.

It's a fun action movie with a single, glaring flaw: Hayden Christianson, who is the Bloody Stupid Johnson of the acting profession. Him being the lead in any movie instantly makes it mockably bad.

Okay, that's not really fair. Some of Bloody Stupid Johnson's inventions were actually useful for something other than comedy, even if unintentionally so.

You cannot negotiate with fire.
