A Surprisingly Intelligent Dramedy!

This show may look like an average Romantic Comedy with a Broken Bird protagonist thrown in, but it is not. It is about discovering the many Hidden Depths within people and knowing who your True Companions really are despite how different you are to everyone else.

Story: The show's Downer Beginning did not hesitate to crush its viewers' souls. It was the strongest first impression I've had for any work of any medium, and that will likely hold for a very long time. While most people begin to lose their enthusiasm for the show halfway through the series, I did not. I found these "boring" episodes to be meaningful in their own way; they serve to reinforce the bonds of these True Companions. While the comedy can be a bit old, its a part of their relationship and how they stay together. Most people also have a problem with episodes 9 through 11 in that "it was too predictable", but I believe they are thinking about it the wrong way: it was really a test of how strong the bonds between said True Companions are as well as make Haruka's Character Development reach its climax. This show is the funnest Cerebus Rollercoaster I've ever ridden on. For that, the story recieves my highest praises. 10/10

Characters: Let me just say that I have felt more attached to Haruka in 10 minutes than I have with most other protagonists in their entire series/franchise. Everything she thinks and does is just so emphathic and sensible, that she is among the top 1% of characters any aspiring writer should study. Without her, this show could not hit as hard as it did. The concept behind Manabe as a Foil was simply brilliant and hilarious! While Haruka has her Telepathy, the other characters also have their own power and/or influence over the story too. However, some their motivations were sold a bit short (I'm looking at you Moritani and your distaste for dojo inhereitance). Otherwise, the cast a fun, enjoyable, and well-balanced bunch. 9/10

Sound: The voice acting felt very natural and everyone sounded their age and played their personalities well. The soundtrack did a excellent job of establishing the mood. Several songs are quite the Ear Worm too! Barely any of them are Meh. 9/10

Overall: 9.3/10. Archive Binge this show if you can, keep an open mind, and just enjoy the ride.
