I'm not sure where to add this. It doesn't seem quite in line with Alternate Character Interpretation, more like a level of genre deconstruction that might or might not be intentional. WMG?
With the powers the fungus gives them, the Bakers are practically a Lovecraftian Fantastic Four, each getting a darkly twisted versions of classic superhero powers: first and foremost Jack's Super-Strength and Marguerite's oddly magical control over insects. Lucas's heightened intelligence and knowledge of engineering and robotics along with his latent supervillainy existed before he was ever infected, but fit right into the ensemble, while Zoe turns into a Cute Monster Girl in End of Zoe, although it's subverted in that she alone demonstrates no powers, instead remaining unconscious for the game's final episode. Then there's the wheelchair-bound grandma, or rather Evie, with Psychic Powers a la Professor X. That leaves Joe as The Team Normal, or it would if this were actually a superhero story, as opposed to a return to RE's Survival Horror roots.
