Isn't that trope based on general fan reaction? I don't think it can be classed here. Besides, Disney has always been known for following a trend of some kind. Heck, almost every climax of their film is a "can't get any worse" scenario, only for there to be a happy ending after all.
We should add Fandom Rivalry against Aladdin 2019 (and by extension all Disney Live-Action Remakes), since the Take That! against it and the comparison of the like-and-dislike ratio speak volumes.
There is also the fact that the general opinion is "Remake < Sequel" and that Disney is at least trying to make something beautifully animated and original here.
Hide / Show RepliesWhile general critical opinion seems to be that Disney release the trailer in order to distract from the sour reception of Aladdin especially Will Smith makeup effect as Genie, there really seems to be no loud vocal rivalry among fans. If anything there seems to be a bigger rivalry between How To Train Your Dragon fans since the trailer has been stealing the excitement for the movie release month as well as the two competing in the upcoming Oscars, similar to HTTYD 2 and Big Hero 6.
Edited by Trackforce Determinator:Where's the Discussion on whether or not the movie has a Bittersweet Ending?
Edited by futuremoviewriterThe movie's discussion page as well as the "Is this an example?" thread, I believe.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them. The fact that the recast of Queen Iduna was announced before anything else is quite suspicious. Maybe the theories were true after all.
Can a mod please add "Visual Effects of Awesome" for Elsa walking on the waves? Thanks.
I was wondering the same thing, it's been weeks now. Is someone trying really hard to protect that "Climate Change" theory there from getting deleted? Cause that's something that should be on the WMG page. How long is it going to be locked just for that entry?
Determinator:My guess is that a mod locked it for the same reason the YMMV page and other subpages of Avengers: Endgame were locked, to prevent speculation, since it is pretty early to add things. You can try making an edit request on this forum, though.
This might be a little nitpicky, but I noticed that there’s a trend among Disney movies lately that tend to end with main characters who were once inseparable in their previous movies ending up parting aways in the sequels. This starts from Ralph Breaks the Internet, Toy Story 4, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, and now Frozen II. Hell, even Dreamworks’s How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World ends like this, too! And I find it a very repetitive plotline right now. Should this classify under It's the Same, So It Sucks trope? Or it’s just too minor and nitpicky to qualify?
