I've been thinking about adding in the Last Lousy Point trope into the page, seeing as every 100% Completion game has this problem, and boy, is the Yakuza series not an exception! However, I realize that I may be missing some very good examples (as of the writing of this topic, I played 1 ages ago, 4 a half a year ago, and I'm around 80% done with 5), so I thought to bring this up here, seeing as I don't want to rely on the Wiki Magic too much.
For me, the thing that counts most as the Last Lousy Point is the fishing minigame. That thing is just soooo frustrating!

I think it would be great to create a recap page. I know we're already have our hands full with the character page, but it would be worth it.

I agree. I'm not as familiar with any of the plots as I used to be and it'd help.

Is it possible to replace the page image with a more fitting one? Something that will better represent the whole series instead of just the first game. And do discussions like this usually appear here or on forums or something? I'm green to all this stuff.

Should we add different pages for each Yakuza game out there? Since this is a long running series, and hopefully it will gain traction in the west, the main page should be expanded on because of the many new games, ooorrr we make new pages for each individual game as well as having a main page. Basically I'm saying the Yakuza page do something similar to the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise page, main games, spinoffs, etc, blah

I'd very much like to see that, though I do think it's optimistic. I'm very worried about the franchise in the west, but here's hoping Yakuza 5 sells enough to keep it going.
But since the story arcs are fairly self-contained, I think individual pages with a central page for series-wide tropes would be appropriate.
Though keep in mind Franchise/ pages are solely for works with pages for three different mediums. As far as I know, Ryu Ga Gotoku is pretty much a two-medium franchise, so we'd have Videogame.Yakuza for the central hub page, and VideoGame.Yakuza 1 for the first game.

But ah, wait, remember the movie? Ehhhh, a third page! BOOM! THREE THINGS! Thank you Miike! Also Yakuza 0 is announced (at least for a USA) release, so whether 5 does well or not, 0 is still coming out.

Movie's the second medium. And for the life of me, I can't think of a third.
And I'm not getting my hopes up about 0 until we get closer. I've been distrusting of SEGA open world games getting localization since Shenmue II burned me.

According to Wikipedia the series has had color monography books, an original video prologue, a movie, radio dramas, and a web tv series.
Of course many of these things are Japan exclusive, so there's that issue.
Also I am sure there was another game article that wasn't exactly a franchise that has a Main Title page and a Main Title 1 page to separate the 1st game to the rest of the series, but I can't for the life of me remember what articles they were.
So it's possible to do what Bio Shock does with it's articles for the Yakuza series? I mean, we're gonna need a lot more tropers to help make pages and move stuff around, and I am such a newbie here in the editing scene that I will possibly accidentally destroy these articles.
It's what I suggested in my first post in this thread. If you're up for the work, we can do it. If not... then we shouldn't.
But here's what I'm probably going to do... I think I'll make a game for Yakuza 5. I'm currently going through it, and as I hit tropes, I'll add them to its own page.

I am up for it, it's just that I myself am very green. Plus we may need more than just 2 tropers working on this, is there some sort of way we can "recruit" tropers that can work on this game?
I'll try to start a page for 1. I'll make it in word or something, I'll probably need a weekend to work on this though... still, I'll try something rather than nothing.
I can help you fill the tropes for each pages. I've done quite a bit of editing over the years. I tried to put some order in the characters page myself.

If Larkman is going to try and make a page for 5 (if I understand his post correctly) and I'll to make a page for 1, what can you do Yagami? Other than the help you'll probably provide of course. What page are you willing to create?

So what I'm going to do is make Sandbox.Yakuza 5 and update it as I play through the game. Honestly, I don't have a lot of spare time so this will take at least weeks.

I think Larkmarn's sandbox idea is pretty good and sensible (also take your time, Yakuza ain't a simple series) Also thanks Yagami
...so... how do I make a sandbox page? I'm a newbie fool and I have a pretty large description I'm able to start with before I add in tropes.

Ok peoples, while I have worked on the Yakuza 1 sandbox page, I will now focus on fixing the main page as a whole. Not "recreating it from scratch" though, as that would be insane for me to do. How's everyone else coming along? I ask for progress reports in how amazing we're doing :)

I feel I've worked on enough of the main page, and will go and actually work back on Yakuza 1 again.
While I don't have time myself to contribute to making whole pages, I'll pitch in however I can (and hopefully not make 90 edits in an hour). But looking at the character page, I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas on how it could be reorganized. I'm thinking of the main page having just the main playable characters (Kazuma, Haruka, Majima, Akijama, Saejima, Tanimura, Shinada), with pages branching off based on the games. Something like "Characters introduced in Yakuza", "Characters introduced in Yakuza 2" and so on, and probably have a similar "sorted by clan/affiliation" layout within those pages.
While I do think that the Character Page is a bit of a mess, your idea seems to be the most sensible way of organizing it now. Especially since Tanimura and Shinada isn't at all in the folder for Main Characters, yet Yumi and Reina are, and each one of them have had just one game appearance so far (Kiwami not counting).
Maybe instead of main, make it Playable Characters since Tanimura probably isn't gonna come back at all, and I can only wonder the same for Shinada (unless his character model and actor was in Inshin). If it's gonna be playable characters, is sensible to add Ryuji Goda in there since he was playable in Dead Souls (and so was Majima), and Ryuji is possibly one of the more trope heavy characters in this series because of that plus of how great his character was in 2.
Good points, I forgot about Ryuji being playable for some strange reason, and I wouldn't consider him a "main character" in the same vein as the others. "Playable characters" works better. Maybe I was looking for a reason to put Majima on the main page, lol.
Majima has been there from game 1, not considering him a Main character would be blasphemy. Like, 7th circle of hell blasphemy. Plus he's a main character in 0, so now it makes even more sense than ever to put him in the "hypothetical main character page/folder"

Nah, I was actually referring to my own editing habits with that one. Plus I don't take swipes at people like that. :)
Ah, ok dude. I just have the same habit now, if you've seen the Yakuza page history. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
I know it's quite late, but I think renaming it is not the best idea since the main page and the video game subpage don't relate to each other.
So. The name change. Would it be a good idea for the page to get renamed to Like a Dragon? Most of the games are still under the Yakuza name, so I'm a bit unsure...
