I am wondering where you guys think this entry could go. I am having trouble finding a place for it and I feel it should go somewhere.

  • The villains are treated as so unforgivable for their actions by the heroes that they're subject to a fate of being Taken for Granite while Discord, who enabled and encouraged all of said villains' actions, and even broke two of them out of Tartarus while they were already serving their sentences, is forgiven by the heroes and even decides the villains' fate without stating why he deserves such.

Designated Hero and Protagonist-Centered Morality were already determined not to be options.

Per ATT, this entry has been contested.

  • Heroes' Frontier Step: Discord, despite being responsible for the villains' conquest, vows to make up for his actions, and commits an act so heroic that he manages to be forgiven by the ponies: by starting the heroes' counterattack, risking his life to get Starlight free so she can free the other prisoners, and joins the battle against three villains without any powers to give the Mane Five and Spike time to escape so they can save Equestria.

My personal thoughts. 1. This sounds more like Heroic Sacrifice as written. 2. Recap. My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic S 6 E 26 To Where And Back Again Part 2 states he had his Heroes' Frontier Step there as it was the first time he inconvenienced and put his life on the line to help others.

What would it be called then, he did a deed that was heroic and made the mane 6 and others be able to forgive him, despite how mad they were before.

Does Moral Dissonance really apply if Discord felt bad about what he did while the vilains didn't?

Did the people in that thread know about Discord's remorse and the fact the villains were unrepentant?

As someone involved with the thread: The MD was not over his enabling the villains to become the threats they did, which is called out, he feels bad and atones for by risking his life.

The MD was: 1. treating the villains as irredeemable despite never giving them the effort/chance to redeem like Discord was. 2. Discord deciding their fate despite forcing them to partake in what would have been seemingly the same evildoing and seemingly would punish them the same even if they hadn't proved so unrepentant.

But since the MD thread we created an Unintentionally Unsympathetic entry for Discord (I took a long time to intentional and unintentional parts), so maybe that's a better fit?
