"Do not move or remove examples except for factual inaccuracy or misuse. Characters can be in multiple folders. If you have adequate context to put a character in a certain folder, just do it; do not move an existing example of the same character somewhere else."
Well, I'm pretty sure it counts as a factual inaccuracy... Though if it doesn't, I'm willing to discuss this.
- Gary Oak, your rival in Pokémon Red and Blue. From the very beginning, he chooses Pokemon that gives him an edge over yours, as he always chooses the starter that is strong against yours. He raises them to be quite powerful compared to other trainers and is quite arrogant in his methods. He often looks down on the player character regardless of how many times you actually beat him in battles.
This is the original entry... and, seriously, virtually everything that it mentions is accurate, outside the name that ended being the canon one.(And Gary is one of his default names)
Do you think Dr. Emmett "Doc" Brown from Back to the Future is an ENTP (Inventor) or INTP (Architect)?
Darth Vader's description in the INTJ's section supports Te. There isn't any indication of Ni in the description. I would say he is an ISTJ instead of an INTJ.
Ross Geller is not a INTJ. He might be smart, but not calculating, and he might suck at emotions and relationships, but those are still what he values most.
Also, saying Ross Geller has the same personality type as Walter White is completely absurd.
Ross Geller is a INFP.
Dipper Pines is an introverted thinker but he seems more of an ISTJ than INTP. He's more structured, steady, and cautious like an ISTJ as shown in his overly long plan with Wendy and he always relies more on traditional methods like in "Boss Mabel". Also even if he is creative he kinda looks more at the realities of things such as "Not What He Seems" as he's more focused on how the machine could destroy the world than worrying about his Grunkle Stan having made it like Mabel was.
Edited by TotalDramaRox97An edit was made that "removed redundancies," but as the language used is quite common in typology, I thought it should be restored.
I get the idea of wanting a discussion before editing a subjective page, but unless i'm mistaken now, all examples have been wiped from it. Kind of gets rid of any interest the page has doesn't it? Is this just an edit war gone ridiculous?
Hide / Show RepliesThe current examples were wiped due to the fact that none of them are allowed under the new rules and leaving them in place would cause confusion as to the actual rules. The new rules regarding context and are to bring them in line with the rest of the wiki and discourage edit warring, since the pages were highly problematic in their current state. The consensus reached in the Trope Repair Shop thread was that it was best to start the pages fresh under the new guidelines.
Rocks fall, everyone miraculously survives.I moved Dennis and Charlie from It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia from this page because I find it very hard to believe that either of them could be iNtuitives. Yes, they come up with a lot of ideas, but those ideas are all short-sighted and ill-formed and as a whole they seem a lot more interested in executing plans than making them.
While on the subject, Charlie is more sensitive and emotionally driven, so I think he has an F preference, not a T.
Hide / Show RepliesUsually, but in Dennis's case he displays more effective planning ability and intuition in episodes like the D.E.N.N.I.S system and little evidence of concern for details (other than in his personal appearance). Charlie is easily the hardest to peg of the Gang but he also shows little regard for detail and displays hidden, Chessmaster-esque planning abilities in "Mac Bangs Dennis's Mom" and "Charlie and Dee Find Love" revolving around his fixated interest (that is, the waitress).
Charlie is definitely not consistent enough in that regard for N to be his preference. I guess Dennis is more mixed, though, and although I'm still feeling ESTJ as his type, I don't feel it strongly enough to really argue for it.
I put a lot of thought into it and I realized you were right about Charlie and Dennis. I will replace Charlie under INTP (since Dennis has already been replaced).
I put Maxie from Pokemon ORAS under INTJ. I'd be open to hearing other thoughts though, I don't usually type characters before discussing it or seeing other views.
Hide / Show RepliesMaxie is definitely an XXTJ - he's super organized, serious, strict, and doesn't easily express his emotions. I'm pretty sure he's an introvert as he's aloof, closed off, and something of a loner despite being the leader of an organization. Between ISTJ and INTJ, INTJ seems to fit better since his plans & goals are pretty long-range/visionary (wanting humanity to advance to new heights), and he often comes off as rather eccentric. He's also pompous and egotistical, which I associate more with INTJ than ISTJ. I could come up with more reasons but I think that's sufficient. What do you think?
Edited by 71.38.112.121Should the change from "Healer" to "Poet" have happened? The new description doesn't fit the type (INFP) anymore, and is super negative. It also makes its examples misplaced.
Hide / Show RepliesI'm about as surprised as you that "Healer" was changed to "Poet", but I'm under the impression that whoever did that did so unilaterally.

Discuss this edit-warred entry here in the place of edit war, please.
Edited by 200.187.118.2 Hide / Show RepliesMore edit warring on this page!? <Sigh>
Anyhow, he could fit but we'll need a somewhat context-ed entry here.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanSince the IASIP flared up again:
Dee is a classic NF (at least a negative portrayal of one)—aspiration for a "higher" goal (acting career, a recurring theme since S1) and acting through petty manipulation (shown to be emotionally abusive of the men she dates). Frank shows both strong N and S traits, but IMO his sheer emphasis on immediate physical pleasure leans him more towards the latter (though this is also implied to be a reaction to his business life and cold marriage with Barbara). Provisionally removing both.
Sunset Shimmer is not an INTJ. She is extroverted.

Can I change Blue Oak's (It's Blue, not Gary!) entry on here? I don't know, but this kid is not an introvert by any stretch of the imagination, at least that I know of. And I really got the impression that his ego drives him more than logic at times, though that could just be me. Can I change it? Please?
