My troper name is Premonition 45, formerly Premonition_45.
My actual name is Momin (rhyming with Roman), but my friends call me Mo.
I'm a 34-year-old American male, and I adore pop culture. Movies, TV and music are my favorites. I've played viola since I was nine, even though I haven't played much lately, I'm never letting go. I've studied psychology and economics at college.
- Berserk Button: Mispronouncing my name. It is NOT "Mom-In" or "Mo-Meen".
- Beware the Nice Ones: Don't piss me off. You've been warned.
- Big Eater: And how! I can eat pizza, ice cream, cookies, brownies, and chocolates and not get stuffed. In my freshman year of college, I essentially lived off cheeseburgers but somehow avoided the "freshman fifteen".
- Break the Cutie / Creator Breakdown / Deus Angst Machina: More than I'd like to go into detail, especially over the last 4 years.
- Brilliant, but Lazy: It seems to run through my family.
- Desperately Looking for a Purpose in Life: Oh, God, yes...
- Does Not Like Spam: I don't like pineapple, melons or mangos as they're all too sweet and tart to my tastes.
- Fandom Heresy: I like the Star Wars prequels, and I think The Empire Strikes Back is overrated.
- First Installment Wins: My freshman year in college, the only one where I got to live on campus, is the only one which I enjoyed.
- Fleeting Passionate Hobbies: I've gone through many.
- 1994-present: Star Wars. I fell in love with after seeing an exhibit on movie robots.
- 1996-97: Jeopardy!.
- 1996-2001(02?): Kids WB, particularly the DCAU and Pokémon at its peak.
- 1997-98: Lots of Alternative Rock and Heavy Metal, like Metallica, Foo Fighters, Weezer, Bush (actually dating back to 1994!). It helps to have older brothers who are 6-8 years older.
- 2000-01: I had an Asian phase, where I loved the Japanese Iron Chef, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (the only movie I've seen more than once at theaters), Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan movies, and Jackie Chan Adventures.
- I also got into The Three Stooges since I received the nickname "Mo" around this time.
- 2002-03: The Lord of the Rings, like most people my age at that time.
- 2003-??: The Beatles (it possibly started around 2001, after George Harrison's death, but I remember it went into overdrive here). I've grown sideburns because of John Lennon.
- Summer 2003: I had an Alien phase.
- 2005-07: YTMND. I've created a few YTMNDs in my time.
- 2007-08: Queen.
- 2008-09: Game Shows, particularly Jeopardy!. This time, it led into The Nanny via Fran Fine's Game Show Appearance in "Franny and the Professor".
- 2009-10: I originally discovered This Very Wiki.
- 2011-12: The Rocketeer.
- 2012-13: Cooking shows, particularly Kitchen Nightmares.
- 2015: Jeopardy (again) because of Alex Trebek's appearance in The Colbert Report's final episode. However, it petered out by March thanks to a very disappointing game where one player wound up with -$6800 by Final Jeopardy.
- Foreign Culture Fetish:
- I took German from middle school to high school, so I've been fairly interested in German culture. I saw Downfall aka Der Untergang before the "Hitler gets angry" meme was started.
- I've been interested in Scottish culture since I went to Scotland in high school.
- God Before Dogma: My stance on religion overall.
- Greater Houston: I was born in Houston, but moved with my family to New Jersey when I was 3.
- Joisey: I love New Jersey, and I'm sick and tired of all the jokes about the state, especially after that particular TV show that does not deserve to be named.
- Made of Iron: I dislocated my left shoulder and went at least three months without realizing it was dislocated. I required corrective surgery, and my left shoulder's/arm's range of movement may never be the same.
- Meaningful Name: My name means "true believer". No, really, it does.
- Memetic Mutation: How my nickname "Mo" caught on. When I was 11, my science teacher had trouble pronouncing my name, so he called me Mo, and before I knew it, almost everyone was calling me Mo.
- Middle Child Syndrome: As the third of four sons, I've danced around this trope throughout my life.
- Myers Briggs: I think I'm a Fieldmarshal (ENTJ).
- Neutral Good: How I see myself.
- Nice Guy
- Old Shame: Because of my Break the Cutie / Creator Breakdown / Deus Angst Machina throughout college, my college experience as a whole has become this.
- The Quiet One: Pretty often.
- Real Men Wear Pink: Born out of my years in orchestra, I enjoy musicals such as West Side Story, My Fair Lady, and The Music Man. I was so upset when I heard that Marvin Hamlisch had passed away in 2012.
- Refuge in Audacity: My freshman year in college, I walked across a frozen pond on campus.
- Ridiculous Procrastinator: Again, runs through my family.
- Sharp-Dressed Man: I'm pretty fashion-savvy, and I've got my mother to thank for that.
- Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: Or cats, or dogs, or spiders, or any creature with at least six legs note .
