Requesting a temporary unlock for the addition of "snuff BT Ls" in Shadowrun.
"I just wanted to know the truth!"I'm sorry, I'm just curious, the article states that Snuff films aren't real, "save for a possible exception", is this referring to Three Guys One Hammer? This caught my morbid curiosity, if you don't want to say who made what, then don't put a cliffhanger there, just remove the "save for one possible exception" inside the brackets.

"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI don't know exactly why this page is locked for in-universe examples, but the video games tab is missing a few entries, namely the quest in Fallout: New Vegas regarding tracking down a man in the Gomorrah who makes snuff films.
When in doubt, spit deku nuts.So is there a trope for when a murder is caught on video (in a story)? If there is, it should be linked to. And it's not always the murderer doing the filming - in K, the victim is shooting video when he goes out onto a roof and is promptly shot by the culprit (who looks exactly like the main character, forcing him to prove his innocence, ergo the plot).
I made this Idolized Julius Kingsley icon back when Akito first came out, and now that the crossover is actually happening, I don't care.Wouldn't having a No Real Life Examples Please note be more useful than locking it?
Hide / Show RepliesMaybe? You'd have to ask in the forums - the lock reason is "enforcing no examples".
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanWhy is the page locked? There are certainly examples in fiction; 8mm comes immediately to mind, and I have no doubt there are many more.
Hide / Show RepliesThere's a bunch. Dexter and CSI both had episodes with them, and the entire plot of Manhunt is about being in one.
I think the reason this is locked is because it'll be a magnet for weird posts and even weirder google traffic and ads.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.If the page weren't locked, I'd suggest altering it to note that while no *real* snuff films exist, there are numerous "fake" snuff films that simulate a snuff film using special effects and acting.
I'd say no, because that was a government-ordered execution - not simply murdering someone just to get it on film. The same argument could be made for terrorists in Afghanistan and Mexico decapitating victims on film; their intent is to bring out a (primarily political) message and the murder is secondary in that it reinforces the message, rather than simply a prurient pornographic homicide.
What about the "1 Lunatic 1 Ice Pick" video, or the "3 guys one hammer" video? Shouldn't those be mentioned in the article?
Edited by dinosaurdanThe point is it being made for money, which that wasn't. There have been plenty of deaths on camera, not just any proven for that purpose.
Requesting the addition of "Yoton Yo" from Alan Wake 2. One character talks about a rumor it was a snuff film but we don't get an answer either way. (Partly due to how art, creation, and time work in universe)
