Does this overlap with the thing in Russia about odd and even numbers? A bouquet of flowers must always have an odd number of blooms in it as an even number is unlucky (except for fumeral wreaths where even numbers are acceptable). I've never seen matryosshka dolls come in an even number - usually five, sometimes seven or nine. the page image appears to have eleven.

I just noticed a small overlap with Recursive Reality. I'm going to work on cleaning up the two pages by putting Matryoshka Object a Super-Trope
I should be able to fully launch this by next Tuesday (January 3).

Somebody told me I had to put a link to this entry to all of the examples' entries in order to "fully" launch the trope, so I'm working on that right now.
