"Clara Oswald is another cute-but-klutzy female companion, but it's downplayed in her case, as she's usually very competent or even a little bit cocky about her skills."

With the best will in the world, I'm struggling to read that as anything other than "Clara Oswald is another cute-but-klutzy female companion, apart from the fact she's not klutzy".

Is it possible for a Cute Clumsy Guy who, while certainly getting the occasional bouts of buttmonkey*

, is still played as every bit as endearing as any female example would, mainly due to certain aspects of their personality?

People can be sensitive, I've been contributing to TV Tropes for years. Today I got fed up with wikipedian revisionism and sardonic language (fanspeak? seriously) used by this page.

INSTA BAN!

And I only realized it when trying to fix a typo elsewhere. Good job guys good job, I realize mockery can only done by the elite.

Yup, I see what you mean. It's stupid, isn't it, how God forbid (oops, I mean Some Ambiguous Cosmic Identity forbid) should it be an anime term, because then it gets an instantaneous "oh no, it's not a real trope, just a silly Gratuitous Japanese word that the weeaboos like to say".

Another thing that really grinds my gears is how Dandere is "just fanspeak", when we have no English-language "real" trope term to fit it. This in spite of the fact that plenty examples of dandere exist in various media (and not just anime), to the point where they actually get listed on a character's page.

Okay, done ranting.
