Surtr from Norse mythology is a Jotunn, but in Marvel, he's a demon!
Hide / Show RepliesNot really, he just seems to be a standard fire giant, even being identified as one.
Edited by ThorionHe isn't, though the confusion probably comes from him being mistaken as one by Beta Ray Bill and his people, with the second issue of Bill's first solo series referring to him as "Demon Fire God".
Also, Galactus in Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer seems even more inhuman than his comic book counterpart. While he was already a Cosmic Entity in the book, he was at least a Physical God, while the movie doesn't even have the "Physical" aspect of that, and makes him out to be pure energy.
2012 Tokka is also a case of Monster Is a Mommy. Since she has a little baby turtle.
Edited by MrStranger616The Nomes in Disney's Return to Oz are more surreal and stone-like than the ones in the book.
Hide / Show RepliesWell, somewhat. Tokka is mentioned as being adapted from a mutant turtle, to a lava monster guardian, so I figured the nomes in Return to Oz counted.
Is this Adaptational Badass or Adaptational Ugliness? I guess it depends on power and appearance.

The Doom That Came to Gotham is brought up twice in the Comic Books section. I'd fix it myself, but haven't read it yet and don't want to get spoiled. If anyone else wants to do it, then please do so.
