  • Irony: Arlette's Zaku III Custom was created by Haman for Char to use if he ever came out of hiding during the First Neo Zeon War while the Tristan is an upgraded version of the Alex Gundam, which was meant to be a Midseason Upgrade for Char's arch rival Amuro in the One Year War. Both suits end up fighting each other like they were intended to, but on opposite sides.

So, a few issues. Firstly, the last sentence makes no sense. The Zaku Mk. III and the Alex were never intended to fight against each other, what with being a decade apart and all.

Secondly, if we for some reason accept that, then is this irony intended or acknowledged by the work, or is it something that fans noticed and commented on? If the former, then great. If the latter, it's more a fit for Hilarious in Hindsight.

It also doesn't work because the antagonists are not Zeon.
