I removed some tropes from the list. We trope actors' work, not their personal lives. Some of this might be put back, but the entries should explain that it concerns his appearance/portal in other media. Also, no Zero Context Example.

  • Berserk Button: Don't edit Russell Crowe's poetry, ya testicle!
  • Friend to All Living Things: Especially horses.
  • Guttural Growler
  • Hair-Trigger Temper: And How!
  • Hidden Depths: Though he is (in)famous for his bad temper and for playing masculine, tough characters, he is also a huge poetry fan (his son Tennyson is named after his favorite poet), loves horses, and, according to co-star Anne Hathaway, was very warm and friendly on the Les Miserables set, suggesting that the cast have weekly sing-a-longs at his house.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: He may be infamous for his temper but he's also a loving parent and has at least tried to curb his temper in recent years. He can also be very nice as Anne Hathaway attested to.
  • Land Down Under: Originally, he's born from New Zealand but spend his early years in Australia.
  • Smoking Is Cool: He has been a smoker since the age of ten.

Also, I'm moving this from the discussion page in the main namespace. (OP moderator Camacan)

All very interesting, but it is in the example trope list: has to start with the trope at hand.

  • Characters that are the best at what they do: fighting (Gladiator), mathematics (A Beautiful Mind), gunslinging (The Quick And The Dead and 3:10 to Yuma), stocktrading (A Good Year).
    • And fighting (LA Confidential)
    • And fighting (Cinderella Man)
    • And being a neo-nazi (Romper Stomper)
    • And sailing (Master and Commander)
    • And fighting (Robin Hood)
    • And being the perfect engineered psychopath (Virtuosity)
    • And being a cop (American Gangster)
