Makes sense. That's actually a very good policy, come to think of it.
The Through the Eyes of Madness example bugs me. Neither Salad Fingers or Spoilsbury Toast Boy seem to be hallucinating all the time. Most of the horrific stuff taking place around them seems to be genuinely real (in universe of course).
