I decided to check if the Permanently Missable Content examples actually fit after it was renamed from Lost Forever. As far as I can tell (correct me if I'm wrong) it seems that they do, because the page for that trope contains examples that aren't even from video games (such as an entry about Snapchat videos, of all things), while Vinny's Miis are from video games; they just weren't made by the original developers.
Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.Quick question for Gaston: where have you been getting the Collection islander information? Is it all from the full stream? Just wondering, in case I can help with part of it.
Hide / Show RepliesYes, it's from the full stream. Islander profiles are sometimes shown onscreen whenever Vinny checks the islander list (such as Vineschnoz's profile, which had a few parts like birthday and I think blood type left blank), but only for a few islanders. In fact, it's the only way I know Vinny's Mii wasn't created by Steve like the other Miis (or at least it isn't credited to him, since Ego is listed as the creator).
Speaking of blood type, I'm not sure if it's a feature in the Japanese version of Life (which retained elements like Collection's speech-synthesis engine and songwriting format), but I don't think Southbird shows any profiles in the Vineland Island Japan series, so I don't think there's any way to know if that option is filled in if it exists. It wouldn't surprise me, since the first localized Fire Emblem game had a blood type setting for the player-created tactician in the Japanese version but not in the localizations.
Edited by GastonRabbit Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.I've been thinking about adding in some kind of infobox for islanders, containing some of the more "trivia" info (birthday, favorite color, etc.) How should I go about that?
Hide / Show RepliesOkay, I added a floatbox for Vinny. It's self-explanatory, except for the creator section (I plan to include both the in-game listing and the creator's screen name/whatever they use to identify themselves). Should I keep going?
Okay, I discovered a problem with floatboxes: you can't put off-wiki links in them without screwing up the formatting. Is there a way around this? The formatting rules page doesn't mention floatboxes for some strange reason, so I can't figure out how to fix it. If we fix it, then I'll also be able to put the QR Code links in the floatboxes.
We don't appear to have food-related entries for Kenny, and I'm assuming their absence isn't a joke related to how he was "reintroduced to food". His QR code hasn't gone down like some of the others, so it's doable.
Edited by GastonRabbit Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass. Hide / Show RepliesI guess I could try that. I'm pretty sure I'm the only editor here with the game, so it wouldn't be too hard, other than the fact that I don't play much anymore. I'll add him in with the rest of my weirdos and see what I can do.
I went ahead and added him. I also saved a copy of his QR Code, though I've never heard of Imgur deleting uploads.
Edit: I discovered his all-time favorite not long after adding him.
Edited by GastonRabbit Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.Well, if you have it handled, that's good. If you need help, I'll add him and check in two categories of food while you do the other two. That might make it go by faster.
Saving QR codes is probably a good idea, considering at least three have been lost so far (Jesus, Isaac, and Bub) even though they were saved on here.
I'm a little late in saying this, but the reason I changed several of the catchphrase-based character page quotes is because we already list catchphrases in the trope lists, so they're still accounted for. Most of the ones I left as catchphrases were either ones that fit the character well (such as "Good" for Vinesauce and "Vinny said to!" for Tucker) or came from characters who got little screen time and thus had few other quotes, either because they're often Out of Focus or because they were added so late in the series that they weren't in many episodes.
