Find a Trope:
Is there a trope, for accidentally getting invited? Web Original
I'm sure this trope has been done, a few times before, but I wanted to know if it's one of the tropes.
Basically, someone sends an invitation for an event/mission/vacation, to a particular person for various different reasons. However through a series of hijinks, the invitation ends up in the hands of not the intended guy, but rather a completely different person. Never the less, the person accepts the invitation and goes anyway.
For the record, I'm not really referring to the Mistaken for Special Guest trope, but more of the invitation being sent to the wrong person. Any help, would be appreciated.
Crayons as Makeup Web Original
I've seen some Youtube videos where women improvise of make it a challenge to use lipstick make from crayons or markers. There's even one video about using colored pencils as eyeliner. They're not children, they're pretty much grown women doing this. Do we have a trope connected to this?
SD Gundam Crystal Chibi Senshi Web Original
I made a page for the SD Gundam Chibi Senshi toyline, and I need help with one trope. They did multi-pack re-releases with Crystal (AKA Transparent Plastic) versions of the Gundam in the toyline (As seen here◊ and here
◊ and here
◊). What do special re-releases of toys count as?
This story is entirely true. Web Original
Is there a trope about how in some (usually creepypasta) stories, it starts with an assurance that the story is entirely true? Because that's something I'd like to add to The petscop webvid page. Petscop does that.
Clowns are Immortal Web Original
I could swear this used to have its own page but I can't find it anymore? Well it's exactly what it says on the tin, clown characters being really tough to get rid of, I remember first seeing it on the Homestuck trope list and now I was reminded again when watching the Madness Combat series.
Standard Youtuber Signoff Web Original
Do we have a trope for the message that tends to end the videos in a youtube series, especially non-fiction blogs (typically the often parodied "please like, comment and subscribe!").
- Schola Gladiatoria; "Thank you for watching and don't forget to like, comment and subscribe!"
- Frederator Studios: "...comment below and let us know! We post new videos every day, so don't forget to like and subscribe and remember to click that bell icon so you can join the notification squad...and remember, Frederator loves you!"
- Gaijin Goombah: "...and if you want to stay up-to-date on all my in depth discussions on geek culture, hit that subscribe bell to never miss out on a new video, but until next time everyone, this is Gaijin Goombah signing out!"
Trope for each oc Web Original
I am in need of tropes of my ocs that fits their personality accurately
(Vist https://www.deviantart.com/kitzitheangelcat/gallery/ and look only at ocs I made!)
Pure Unfiltered Evil Web Original
It's that kind of tag that I often see on Derpibooru when it comes to Twilight Sparkle spilling chocolate milk. What tropes do this tag apply?
Hated by everything living Web Original
So I was reading The Wandering Inn, its wiki & trope page, about Crelers (https://thewanderinginn.fandom.com/wiki/Crelers), and I noticed that there was an important aspect of them that wasn't mentioned at all ; that they are hated by every single thing that is alive or even undead, as the wiki said : 'Crelers are considered the worst and most universally detested monsters, and are instinctively targeted by all forms of life that can fight them.' and the story mentioned that even rabbits will eat/destroy creler eggs if they see any.
Yet when I looked for a trope that described that, I didn't find any that fitted, with the closest being 'Enemy Mine' (For the 'Everything hate crelers), despite 'Enemy to All Living Things' having a more appropriate title (Because that trope is about someone having an Aura of Death).
So is there a trope that I missed that is like that or should I go to the Trope Launch Pad ?
Regarding a trope on RWBY Web Original
In RWBY, Cinder's backstory revealed that she was enslaved by Madame and her two stepsisters for five years, and even wore a shock collar. Then, one day, Cinder snapped from the abuse, destroyed Madame's shock collar and killed her and her stepsisters.
Which trope best fits this description?

Where there are lighting issues in between shots, suggesting one is shot in the day and the other at night? Specifically in Stranger Things episode 3.
Edited by PopRockRollThis Very Wiki, Don't Put Links In Spoilers Web Original
Somewhere on this Wiki, I thought I read the rule "Don't put links in spoilers, it renders the spoiler tag as useless as used tissue paper" but I can't remember the exact phrasing and I can't find it.
Regarding RWBY Web Original
In RWBY, the heroes fight the Grimm upon their arrival in Atlas at the beginning of Volume 7. However, they are arrested for illegally entering Atlas using a stolen ship, ditching said ship in Mantle against orders from the Atlesian higher-ups and illegally engaging in battle. And despite Qrow holding a valid huntsman license, Teams RWBY, JNR and Oscar don't have any licenses to become huntsmen since their training was incomplete.
Which trope best covers this particular entry?
Edited by gjjonesSorting hat was wrong trope? Web Original
I've seen this described as a cliche more than I've actually heard of it in the wild.
Basically, the protagonist thinks they are [X magic], but they are actually [Y magic].
Here was what made me think of it, a Reddit thread on /writingcirclejerk: "Young Katniss thinks her acceptance to Hogwarts School of Jedi Training will enable her to use the school's TARDIS to destroy the One Ring. But things get complicated when she's accidentally sorted into House Lannister instead of Stark".
Is this a trope?
Teens with powers Web Original
The start of the show is about kids that hears static then suddenly faint and wake up in a castle like school and all of them has special abilities and they try to figure out why are they all in this school.
Religions Based on Works Web Original
I remember there being a Just For Fun page about religions based on various works. What was it called?
EDIT: Found it! It was Intellectual Property Religion.
Edited by AcidManekiHighly traumatized at one sight Web Original
Example: In the SuperMarioLogan episode "Mario's Hobo Problem!", whoever sees Shrek's big poopy toilet mess in the bathroom (except for Shrek himself and the titular homeless man) gets highly disgusted, freaks out and is unable to speak.
Withdrawn Episode Web Original
Ahem I'm looking to see if a trivia trope exist for the following: an episode that was released to the public, but was then withdrawn. The reason being for the Hanazuki page, but I think there was also a case for a certain predecessor and maybe Pokémon (and given the realization below, Steven Universe)
Its not Banned Episode, though Pokemon would have some overlap with that, I'm not certain if its Missing Episode either because MLP's case had reaired "The Last Roundup" with certain edits, and I have a feeling the Hanazuki episode in question would return in about a month (Plus Hanazuki isn't syndicated yet)
EDIT: Unfortunately I feel victim to You Keep Using That Word (with that word being "redacted"). In hindsight the proper term should had been Withdrawn.

Trying to find this sitcom. i believe it was british and fairly recent. in one episode there is a little festival with a great big green guy a tent full of bats and a guy and a girl who take weird suppository drugs in a porta potty. in another there's a bbq with a bunch of hippies and two girls go and then realize they're hippies and leave when they start a drum circle.
When technical issues affect story? Web Original
Is there a trope for when technical issues affect story? For example, in RWBY, every time a character changes clothes requires a new CGI character model. This leads to things like characters shown eating dinner with chopsticks while wearing their combat gloves—something that they wouldn't do in real life, but showing them without the gloves would require extra time and expense to make new CGI models for them.
Is there a trope describing that sort of thing?
Edited by Robotech_MasterAnalog Horror Web Original
An actual genre title that is used to describe non-movie Found Footage-esque series such as Marble Hornets and Local58. Do we have anything like this?
Edited by KingOfStickersA canon-divergent fanfic folds back into canon Web Original
Since it's the first time I use this, not sure if the category should be this or "Anime" because it's a My Hero Academia fanfic.
Anyway: said fanfic, recently concluded, is set after the School Festival arc and from there, it takes place over several weeks. However, by the last two chapters it's made clear that some pivotal canon events will still play out eventually, with just a few differences (for example, Endeavor has not received the big scar on his face); not surprisingly by the end the various OCs, while very important during the story itself, are either dead, imprisoned, or gone to places where they aren't expected to influence future events. Basically, the story has replaced the Pro Hero and Joint Training arcs but has not created a completely new timeline.
Does some trope applicable to it exist? Also not being a big reader of fanfics in general, I don't know how many do something similar. The closest I can think of is something akin to replacing some of The Stations of the Canon.
Edited by GendoIkariThe Cultist Always Dies Web Original
A worshipper performs a ritual to summon the devil or a dark god. When the creature shows up, either because the ritual worked, or by coincidence, it kills (or eats) the cultist.
Final Battle on the moon Web Original
New Testament SD Gundam Gaiden New World Advent Legend has the final battle take place on the moon. Does that count as Astral Finale? If not, what does it count as?
