TBH, for Five-Man Band, I actually prefer the "wrong" indentation formatting rather than the one approved by the Example Indentation in Trope Lists, since in the latter, the Five-Man Band entry would be practically ZCE (it only gives a list of five names and says that they are working as a group), and you'll need to browse up and down the trope list to find the context for each of the characters' role.
Yes, that too. Technically similar format can be seen in Multiform Balance and I think it work well.
You need to make sure that there is a general conscious that Five-Man Band is an acceptable exception to the rule and maybe we should then update Example Indentation in Trope Lists accordingly. Otherwise, if you go ahead and make the edits, someone will revert it back, thinking it's breaking the rules.
So I look up random pages for Five-Man Band misused, most of time it's obvious (too many members, or listing wrong roles and being ZCE). But once in a while, I found an actually good example that only has Example Indentation in Trope Lists problem. Something like this.
Now, while our Example Indentation in Trope Lists page say it should be rewrite as single bullet entry, I wonder if this format will be acceptable?
Basically, it keep the second level of example, but focus on how each of the characters play a part of the Five-Man Band trope instead of the subtropes. I think this should be acceptable since it's just one example with five parts, not an example of super trope and five sub-examples of other five tropes.
