I didn't get the "work is good because it kills straight men" thing from that review.
I mean, everyone else sure did. More importantly though is that the author is basically saying "This work is brilliant and if you disagree that's a problem with you"- it's the sort of review that attempts to render the criticisms invalid and present itself as completely right and objective.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure Pureness^^ Fourth paragraph, third sentence: "If you care about progressive fiction this is exactly the story you asked for so long to see, and it is immensely satisfying to see a story where straight men get bumped off left and right by powerful female and trans characters."
Edited by Kappaclystica^ Also, that quote implies that "female characters" and "trans characters" are mutually exclusive.
^ TBF the only trans character I know of in the game is a trans man so that explains the distinction.
But still weird of them to act like anyone who hates TLOU2 is just upset about straight men dying because from what I can tell as an outsider, many progressive people simply dislike the game as well, and I've even seen trans people express problems with how it portrays its trans characters. And it's not just far right people in disguise as progressives either.
It's not an unsalvagable review, though, and I get the point of criticizing certain members of its fanbase/hatedom, and it definitely does not read as a troll review. Maybe if they simply reword the potentially inflammatory parts it'll be okay. Praising the game for being progressive in their eyes and complaining about certain people disliking the game for these reasons, not insisting everyone who dislikes it dislikes it for those reasons, would be a valid review at least.
Edited by mightymewtron I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe. In case you were wondering, I was the one who mentioned that I thought it was Bait. At first I thought I was jumping to conclusions, but now I'm unsure.
(Don't) take me home.I'm starting to think that locking the YMMV is making people take their emotions to other parts of the pages...
Hoping a mod sees this.

Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessYeah that review is out of line.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."The moderation seems to have seen the review itself. Has the review poster been notified of this ATT?
Rawr.In retrospect, my emotions got the better of me when writing that review. There's certainly parts (like that fourth paragraph) that are, as pointed out by others here, needlessly inflammatory.
I got carried away. I was angry. I saw hatred toward the work that was in my mind motivated by bigotry, and I used the review to lash out. For that, I'm sorry. I regret going as far as I did.
I offer no objections if the moderators think the right course of action is to remove the review.
Edited by BaronVonFistcrunchIt's been removed. Feel free to put up a new one that's a little better worded.
^^ We can all get heated about certain issues. God knows I've said some pretty politically incorrect things about sexual predators and Incels on this site. Requesting a lock on this query. ⬇Seconded.
Edited by SkyCat32 Rawr.^^^ Please, just don't type when you're angry and try to calm down and think about what you want to say. You'll end up saying things you'll regret if you don't.

This review on The Last of Us Part II seems to be written with an agenda in mind. Namely, they seem to have it out for straight men, believing the work is good because they get "get bumped off left and right by powerful female and trans characters", and also says that they're all far right, saying:
"You can never push boundaries without angering reactionaries, particularly in a medium where the primary audience are straight white males."
Some of the comments on the review have suggested that this was made as Flame Bait by a troll, but even if it isn't this is still problematic behavior and not conducive to constructive criticism.
