Moral Event Horizon is meant to apply to evil characters, to show they can never be redeemed. This feels more like a very strong Kick the Dog IMO- utterly horrible, but not evil. Not irredeemable. "Torturing" also sounds like a very strong word to use; Shelby is the Alpha Bitch, not a psychopath.

Then again, MEH is YMMV for a reason. It's just also complicated and weird and there's been a lot of debate about it.

You do make sense there. I did a cleanup on all the 'evil' tropes I added to the character on that page.
