Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread

Here we go again...
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool. Why is it so hard to understand that official localization trumps over fan translation? This feels like Bleach's Vandenreich / Wandenreich mumbo jumbo all over again.

He/His/Him. No matter who you are, always Be Yourself.Fans can use whatever they want. TV Tropes uses official localizations. Unless there's conflicting official localizations, not really a lot of wiggle room there.
Edited by sgamer82But, like I said before, we can note that it's a Market-Based Title or whatever, in the description, if we want to.
Disambig Needed: Help with those issues! tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13324299140A37493800&page=24#comment-576Which is fine, but the point is the official localization is what should be used throughout the site, irregardless of accuracy. A point JoiningReaper is ignoring despite knowing full well the rule on it since they took part in the last discussion.

JoiningReaper did the same thing as last time this case popped up where they reverted the official localization ("Sephyr" in this case) to the original text ("Sefar") for the Fate/Extella pages in this case. The only edit reason given is "mistranslation" which lines up with how they mentioned in a response to the linked query "Sefar -> Sephyr" was one of the reasons why official localizations quote butchers unquote terminology and fans/the wiki should just use unofficial translations.
