Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread

I agree about adding a note telling people not to alter or delete other people's examples.
THE GOLDEN AGE WILL RETURN AGAIN!No IP overlap. Warned them both. Go ahead and add a note.
I added a hidden note at the top of the page and made it more specific about altering. Should I do the same for other pages?
Edited by Excessive-Menace THE GOLDEN AGE WILL RETURN AGAIN!^ If it's X Meets Y, yes.
Is it okay to alter an example into a more accurate one?(just an suggestion)
^ No, not really. By altering other people's examples, you're essentially changing their opinions in the process. These Just for Fun pages are meant for people to showcase their opinions, so please respect them.
If you want to add your own interpretation of the example, just add it in another bullet below.
Okay, but some of these examples uses characters from other Franchises that weren't even made yet.
EX: from The magic School Bus Characters section, Valerie Frizzle is Albus Dumbledore meets Haruhi Suzumiya. (The Magic school Bus came first before these two series, (Harry Potter and Haruhi Suzumiya)
Edited by Kofboy^ Again, not ok, because you're looking to change other people's opinions. Whether or not a series came after the other series is irrelevant. I was given mod approval to add the notes because three tropers were already suspended trying to mass-change/delete examples (one of them even wiped a quarter of a page), and a few others were doing the same thing.
The point about X Meets Y is not about accuracy. It's about people making their own comparisons. It's subjective, not objective.
If you have an issue with this approach, then please discuss it with a moderator.
Yeah, it's not an actual trope with objective standards or whatever. It's a JFF page where people can post their own comparisons. So don't change them.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure Pureness^ Sigh... Looks like those notes are not working at all. I'm starting to think that this is too commonplace to regulate, and ultimately a lost cause.
Since the notes are there, that's grounds for sending them a notifier and reverting them. If it keeps happening, it's grounds for a mod tap. Ignoring notes is never cool even if it's to do something commonplace.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessIs it okay too add a character or a tv show in another Troper' s example? (Just like what n3xus is doing:https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/article_history.php?article=XMeetsY.LiveActionTVShows )
^ I think you can because you're not removing the example in the process, just expanding it.
Notifier sent. Revert if needed.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportI'm still not sure why we're okay with X Meets Y having trope subpages anyway, considering it's JFF and is more often than not misused.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessAre you guys gonna fix it?
This guy has been making alterations with the X Meets Y pages of Kamen Rider and Super Sentai. Could somebody ask him to slow down a bit?
At this point we might just need a new thread for this.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure Pureness
Both quackytrope and Nick98 are found changing and/or deleting other users examples. Can we have an IP check for ban evaders please? Because three tropers were suspended displaying the same editing behavior in the past.
With that said, I think the pages need a small note warning tropers not to change or delete other people's edits without valid reasons. It's becoming much too common.
