Bump.
Unless I hear back by the 31st per Three-Day Rule, I will:
- Remove Luke Skywalker as it's complaining about his portrayal as opposed to how he was supposed to be portrayed as sympathetic. (UU cleanup argued the problem was heavy Depending on the Writer over if we was sympathetic or not, which is a separate issue.)
- Remove "School Raze" as "for some" and the work makes no attempts to portray the heroes as sympathetic or unsympathetic for it. Its points can be moved to Cozy's Unintentionally Sympathetic entry.
- Remove "The Ending of the End" as "for some" and it was added against this ATT. I can move its new points to Moral Dissonance if anyone approves.
I asked Unintentionally Unsympathetic Cleanup about these suspect examples but I haven't hear anything back in three days.
UnintentionallyUnsympathetic.Literature
- In the eyes of many fans, Luke Skywalker became this toward the end of the Star Wars Legends continuity, frequently sanctioning drastic measures such as torture and assassination to stop villains. The intent was to show the character growing increasingly cynical with age, but the fans argue back that even so, that's not a very good way to write Luke Skywalker.
YMMV.My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic S 8 E 26 School Raze Part 2I believe Unintentionally Unsympathetic has to explain why the characters why they were supposed to be sympathetic in those situations, not just the complaints.
Luke I say cut because it complains about his character direction as opposed to intended portrayal.
Pony examples state "for some" which is Weasel Words and have been subject to debate here. For the first one the issue is covered by Cozy being Unintentionally Sympathetic (to other characters she proved as evil as the worst villains and wholly unrepentant, the problems on Cozy's writing not theirs). For the latter Moral Dissonance was decided as the compromise to a cover the issue, adding UU seems to go being that.
Thoughts?
